This month we ended up at Central Florida archery. We signed up for a 2 person novice lesson. When we got there, they had the equipment ready for us. Our instructor was Mike, and he was great! Mike walked us through how to decide which I is dominant, how to hold a bow, how to shoot, how to aim, and everything we need to get started. Then we got to shooting! The lesson was one hour long. Mike was so good, we both got bullseyes before time was up! We're already talking about planning another day to come out and do this again. It was such a fun experience. They offer lessons from one person up to a group of people. They also allow you to bring your own gear or rent their gear to just come and shoot without doing a lesson. One thing to note: The address will take you to a red gate, which is closed. You have to open the gate to get in (it's just latched) and close it behind yourself before driving down the sandy road to the parking lot.

I headed over there quickly and was able to hold it in hand check it out and opted to buy it. The guys there were super chill. All of them made conversation from talking about other PCCs to even discussing our carry's and cerakoting. The system was moving a bit slow because this happened to be the day that AWS crashed, but they still managed to get everything cleared and processed and let me know that if anything happened with the card charge to let them know and they'd rectify it asap (nothing did happen). I think that their prices were fair and maybe even better than other "big box" shops from everything else I saw on display. This will likely be my regular LGS moving forward.

I came out with my wife for a private shooting instruction, and tried various handguns. There is a membership that is under $400 to start for the year, there are public days here too, and those are days when there is a crowd and you may have to wait a while to shoot. You bring your own gun, ammunition, and targets so you're using your own product. There are some rules that you must obey, or you'll be asked to leave. Bring some earplugs and eyegear whether it's your everyday glasses or some eye protection, as you don't want to suffer temporary deafness or get anything in your eyes. Fun fact, due to the range being rural, you will see some wildlife, whether on the path to the range, or on the range itself. No you can't shoot the wildlife!

Amazing spot but managers need to train their employees better…read more There are two types of guns here: Gun A: fires narrow beam, but fully automatic Gun B: fires wider beam, but not fully automatic The employees had us all pick our guns and then started handing out..vests...and...headbands?! Folks, A comes with a vest where you can get hit on shoulders, chest, and back. B comes with a HEADBAND. A headband that many people will wear around their neck. What this means: folks with Gun A are very easy to hit. Folks with Gun B are very easy to hit. In our game, everyone with Gun B DOMINATED. I don't think these guns are equal, there needs to be more standardization. The games themselves though? An absolute blast. I played poorly every game but was still having an amazing time! You get a lot of excercise and it's genuinely thrilling. Bonus for the welcoming atmosphere for folks with all different cultura l and ethnic backgrounds, including gender neutral bathrooms!

I have always wanted to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, so when friends…read moreinvited me to go with them to the Introductory Class, I happily went to the TAS webpage and signed up for it. The Intro Classes are offered every Saturday, and you must take one before you are allowed to take even the beginning archery classes here. The area the school is located in is a little bit sketchy, but don't let that deter you. In the Intro Class, the owner Bryce does a brief overview of different bows, and rules, and gear, and then you actually get to shoot. After taking the intro, you have the option of signing up for beginner classes (or you can test 'up' if you are experienced already). They offer classes 4 times a week, and it's either $25/class or $80 for the whole month with unlimited classes. That is definitely the way to go, because you will need to/ want to practice, practice, practice! The building this is in also doubles as a martial arts dojo, so no shoes are allowed on the mat. It gets very, very warm inside, with only fans to keep it cool, so dress accordingly. You shoot at targets about 10 ft away. TAS provides all the gear you need: bow, arrows, arm guard, finger tab, and targets. They even have bows for lefties like me! During class, the two instructors walk up and down the line behind the shooters giving tips and comments to improve one's form and shooting skills. They also have an arrangement with The Archery Shop on N. Florida Ave., so some of the classes are held there. It's fun to switch things up and shoot at this location, because this range is about 20 ft long. I have enjoyed myself immensely taking these classes, and highly recommend this school if you have an interest in archery.

The instructors Mark & Bryce just from the hour lesson I could tell were totally devoted to their sport. I am excited about my twins learning Archery from these guys.
