This month we ended up at Central Florida archery. We signed up for a 2 person novice lesson. When we got there, they had the equipment ready for us. Our instructor was Mike, and he was great! Mike walked us through how to decide which I is dominant, how to hold a bow, how to shoot, how to aim, and everything we need to get started. Then we got to shooting! The lesson was one hour long. Mike was so good, we both got bullseyes before time was up! We're already talking about planning another day to come out and do this again. It was such a fun experience. They offer lessons from one person up to a group of people. They also allow you to bring your own gear or rent their gear to just come and shoot without doing a lesson. One thing to note: The address will take you to a red gate, which is closed. You have to open the gate to get in (it's just latched) and close it behind yourself before driving down the sandy road to the parking lot.

Just as most businesses, give them a heads up you plan to bring a party larger than 6 or so, because that way they can prep for you. I do have to commend the owner (ar at least the guy who appeared to be the owner, with being so approachable and concerned with your experience). They do take safety quite seriously and as a petite woman playing with with giant sized men, I appreciate that. They do leagues here and even a youth-league, so if you're looking for something to increase the hand-eye coordination and teamwork of your child, why not check this out? As I stated in my quick tip, when you turn into BMX Lane, go down that road at least a quarter-mile and then you'll see the fields. Last bit, parking is kinda funky and undefined. Just be prepared to be a bit creative, and try to not park too close to some fields because your car may leave with some very bright neon colors (that do rinse off very easily).

Wear some longer layers to protect yourself. Luckily, it was a bit cloudy/windy, so it was easier to stay cool. I went with a group of 7, and one of the staff members "Chris" was very helpful. We all were newbies and got the gist of it pretty quickly. At one point we even played against another group of 7, and that was an awesome time.
