My overall experience with Advocate Construction was very good. Initially the company representative was quite responsive when detailing what needed to be done and what the cost would be. He committed to keeping the costs within the amount that would only require us to include our deductible amount paid to the insurance company. That was all we had to pay out of pocket. It did take Advocate four months to complete the work. The work was done professionally, and the workers did an excellent job on the roof and gutters that were replaced. One glitch did occur with the gutters, however. We had requested 6-inch gutters, and the workers installed 5-inch gutters instead. Apparently, there was a communications issue between our contractor and the gutter supply company. Advocate did get that corrected at no additional cost to us. Also, in a final walk through with the company representative we pointed out a couple of things that needed to be corrected. A trim piece had not been properly secured and an exhaust pipe that was to be painted was not painted. We have been waiting for those to be completed about three months now. At that time, we also requested an estimate on new trim to be installed around our garage door. We are still waiting for that too. read more

He was knowledgeable and able to walk us through the process of making a claim with our insurance and selecting colors for our roof and siding. We had both replaced due to storm damage. 2nd review about advocate construction- this is getting so Ridiculous- the job was completed over 3 weeks ago - a week later the salesman Andrew came through and done his own snag list- a week later a Joshua Denton was sent back to do another snag list - he said they would have a meeting and get me on the schedule- a week later the siding is falling off - I have had no response from the company- I have called the vip customer line numerous occasions with no luck- I then phoned Joshua today to ask what's happening as the salesman Andrew does not answer my calls - maybe cause his too embarrassed- he then says they are waiting for the VP to arrange a meeting- which is a week behind- I'm sitting with a house half finished and siding falling down and nobody is in a rush to do anything- is this the service that advocate dishes out - just a call would be nice - read more

*I have been working on this review since July 2021 when I used this company * After a year and a half of having their salesman come to our door, we decided to listen to their spiel about roof replacement. They had replaced numerous roofs in our neighborhood, so I thought it was worth talking to them. The salesman who came was quite arrogant, rubbed my wife the wrong way by continually suggesting the only decision she needs to make is the color of the shingles. That didn't set well with my spouse. She felt as though he was "man-splaining" her. After the initial sit down to go over filing an insurance claim due to a hail storm that came through in the spring and my roof had hail damage that would be more than likely covered by an insurance claim, I agreed to let them schedule an inspection with an independent 3rd party who would convey the results to the insurance adjuster. This is where things went real shady. The Advocate guy says, "you'll get a call from the inspector the night before to let you know when he's coming. He'll tell you his name, so let me know. I've worked with them before but if we get Mike Murphy, we'll he doesn't like to help the customer out like we do." Then he more or less alluded to possibly cancelling the appointment if we got the inspector he didn't like! Can you say red flag??? Yea, shady. We'll we didn't get the inspector he was avoiding, so everything proceeded as planned. Roof inspected, covered by insurance and eventually installed. Over the course a few years we have continually found nails in our yard and driveway. Then we just had our windows cleaned and the workers told us the roof over our porch was extremely soft. So I had a roofing company come out to inspect the roof that Advocate installed at our house. We came to find out the flashing was improperly installed over our porch and water has been getting in and ruining the decking boards under the shingles. I contacted Advocate who wasted no time in advising me I was out of warranty. Now we're on the hook for $2000 because they didn't installed the flashing properly. Advocate Construction recently completed a build on my roof. I worked with the sales manager Zack G. throughout the process and at times spoke with Jack his manager, to address issues and questions. From Zack's initial contact with me, I could tell that he would listen to my concerns about having my roof replaced. He walked me through each step and explained what to expect. That provided me with the sescurity and confidence that I was being listened to and my concerns were addressed. And those concerns were met, throughout to completion of the build. His manager, Jack also took time to listen, explain and assure me that what I needed to happen with the build would happen and in fact did happen. Thank you to both of you. There were many people at Advocate I needed to interface with a various points in the process. And I can report, I always felt I was listened to patiently, and that they made sure I was satisfied with the project at every step. The team that actually replaced my roof were great! They took care to protect my yard and property during the build. I don't think I could have asked for a better crew. The clean up was excellent and that is coming from someone who expects a lot. A couple of days after the build, Evan from Advocate came out to inspect the build and checked with a large rolling magnet, for stray nails and screws; he found only one of each. Amazing! The roof is done, it looks great and I can rest easily, that it will last for a very long time. Job number: 2408-15100 The team at Advocate Construction up and disappeared during my roof repair insurance claim process. Leo Montiel and his apparent boss, Michal both stood on my lawn and gave me their sales pitch. I explained very clearly my reservations about the roof, but they insisted they would get the job done. Well, fast forward to after the first insurance adjustment review. The insurance adjuster was not in favor (most of them are not the first go around) and wouldn't grant a full replacement. After the adjuster left, Leo and his PM were still confident they could get a full replacement, but that it would take a bit more 'discussions and reviews' with the insurance company. They assured me this was very normal. A day later, I received the insurance companies approved scope of work that I shared that with Leo and the guys at Advocate via email. A few days went by, and no communication or response from Leo. I sent a follow up text, email and called -- no response. I even sent emails to Michal, and no response. Keep in mind, this company had other projects happening in my neighborhood, so it's not like it was out of their way. It's now been a month or so and still no contact. Can you believe that?! I wasn't even given the common courtesy of a phone call or response to an email to explain or tell me they were walking away. I am sure if I was able to contact Doug Cooper, the CEO & Co-Founder he'd agree that at the very least, Advocate should have communicated why they were walking away. My guess is he would not be happy with how his company's reputation is being trashed due to Leo and Michal unprofessional behavior. Let me start this by saying, I never ever leave reviews on businesses, so that should tell you how disappointed I am with this company. In May, we had a big storm that caused a lot of hail damage. Insurance coverage us for new siding and roof. The roof is fine but looks wonky with the gutter guards. But the siding is where my biggest issue is. Starting out, they were fine. Has some issues getting replies from them but whatever, I know people get busy. When the crew started, they did good. The front looks good but as they progressed, it got sloppy. The caulking is so sloppy and uneven, some siding panels aren't properly secured so stick out, you can see so many scratches already on the siding, they left nails and screws all throughout my yard and we have a dog and had to pull a screw from his mouth at one point. To think it couldn't get worse is an underestimate. On the third day, we checked our cameras while at work and saw they had taken the siding off the garage. Note, we weren't approved for the garage so there wasn't enough siding to finish so our garage sat without siding on 1 wall for over 2 weeks. I love my house and take pride in it but honestly, I hate looking at it right now because of how disappointing and unprofessional it looks. 10/10 do not recommend and wish we went elsewhere. read more

Here we are with another broken promise from this horrible company. Roof installed on July 10. After a month..... and After numerous phone calls looking for my lien waiver and warranty, the latest was last Friday, I was told they just got paid a couple of weeks ago (which is a lie because I gave them a check that was issued to me in April) I received an email and I was told, and I quote " I have confirmed that your warranty documents and lien waiver will be finalized and sent to this email address. You can expect to receive them by the end of business on Monday, August 11, 2025...Anna Keena" I have not received what I was promised, yet again. I cannot imagine the owners of this company even realize what a mockery their employees are making of the company they worked so hard to build. If you are smart you would not even think about calling this company. They do not call you back, they lie about what is going on because they really do not know what is going on due to the lack of communication, and as I mentioned in my last review, they actullay bring children and family to work with them to play in your yard while they are working. His work crew came out within 2 weeks(which is AMAZING), set about doing our roof and cleaned everything up all in one day! My experience with Advocate was a very positive one. I had a unique situation where I needed them to coordinate the replacement of my roof with another construction company that was doing a room addition. They were very understanding and willing to work with me. I worked with Kelsey Rundle throughout the process and she was very professional, quick to respond to my questions, and also helped me understand the insurance claim. She did a great job of keeping in touch with me to ensure that we coordinated getting the roof done with the other company. On the day on installation, the foreman was there to introduce himself and when issues arose he was the first person to call me. The work was done on time and so far, we've experienced no issues. When my insurance performed their inspection of the roof, Kelsey and another Advocate construction employee were present to make sure that my Insurance didn't miss anything. They confirmed the Insurance review was fair and eased my concerns. She was flexible and worked quickly and efficiently as my roof needs to be replaced ASAP. Initial Review: Zero stars on this one. Please please please stay away from these guys at all costs. Friendly canvassing sales team, but it stops there. The installation crew did not step flash anything which caused several water leaks. They broke almost all of my bottom rows of siding and JChannel but did not bother to tell me. The icing on the cake however is that they billed my insurance company for code items such as ice and water shield and drip edge, but did not install any.**Edit**(they claimed that they have photos of ice and water shield being installed (which is great, no issues there). This is flat out fraudulent and this company should lose their license in my opinion over something like that. DO NOT work with them. **Update 12/3 - The sales rep, construction manager who patched some of their sub-par flashing, and then the sales and production managers for the St Louis market stopped by today. I was under the impression this was to resolve the issues at hand, however instead the sales manager immediately began berating me for this review. The attitude presented was extremely aggressive, and after pushback from me they essentially attempted to position themselves as victims since I didn't call them before outlining the situation at hand for prospective clients in a review. Rather than discuss possible resolutions, Advocate's stance is that this was a simple "mistake" and that they will pay back my insurance company as resolution. In terms of construction; they then claim that by bending down some of my fascia wrap, this constitutes as drip edge and the roof is sound. Do a bit of research on current code and proper building practice around drip edge and you'll be certain that this is not something that should be done. I am still in pursuit of a just resolution here and to get my roof up to current building code. I will update if this is made right. read more

Please do your due diligence before hiring this company. Since people often use reviews to make decisions about companies, I feel obligated to share my experience with Advocate Construction so that others may not have the same experience as me. I'm glad that some people have had positive experiences with Advocate Construction and their team, but that was not the case in our situation. I wonder if some of the positive reviews would feel the same way after their roof has been in place for a few years. Once Advocate installed our roof, we immediately knew there were issues. Many areas of the roof didn't look right and the workmanship was not good, to say the least. Additionally, there was thousands of dollars of damage to our property. After the roof installation, Advocate came out to our property numerous times to document and address issues. It seemed as though their team pushed back on almost every issue, saying that it "functioned just fine". The valleys that were installed backwards, "functioned just fine". The drip edge that was bowing away from the house, "functioned just fine". Our composite deck that was scraped up and completely ruined, "functioned just fine". The gutters that were scraped up and dented, "functioned just fine". The list goes on. Even when Advocate would finally agree to address an issue, they would end up causing additional damage to the property and the work was done so poorly that it would need to be fixed again. Since there were so many issues with the roof and the quality of their work, we were concerned that the roof was not installed properly, so we hired an independent inspector to provide a full report. Based on the report, many areas of the roof were not installed to code or the manufacturers recommendations. Additionally, there have been other issues discovered after the initial inspection. At this point, the only repair is to completely remove the roof and start over. It is concerning that after more than seven months, we are no closer to a completed roof or our property being returned to it's original state. On Advocate's website, it states that Advocate Construction values integrity, individual responsibility, and quality. I have not found any of these values to apply in my situation and I'm wondering how many other people in the area are having similar issues with Advocate. I feel very taken advantage of and that is not right. Advocate Construction needs to step up and take responsibility for their work. That means addressing the issues with my roof, as well as the damage that was done to my property. You would think that an inspection report from an independent certified inspector and clear damage to my property that was not present before the roof install would be enough evidence. It's easy to take credit when everything goes right with a job. A company that truly has integrity is willing to take responsibility when things don't go right. I hope that this review causes anyone that reads it to pause and thoroughly evaluate whether Advocate Construction is the right company for them. read more

Advocate Construction was highly recommended to me by one of their previous customers. They put a new roof on one of my rental properties about two weeks ago. The project from beginning to end was seamless. Alex Ransom was awesome the entire process. He did a great job explaining their process, timeline, communication with insurance company, etc.He continuously checked in and updated me, and made sure all my questions were asked. We had drips in our basement coming from the inside of our furnace and water heater flue when it rained. We called Advocate Construction who had installed our roof about five years ago. Ignacio, one of their construction managers, was at our home within 30 minutes of our call. He inspected the flue, applied sealant and then went about inspecting our entire roof and all remaining flues and vents. He spray-painted all of the flues (five of them) flat black which was a major improvement. Ignacio was very polite, professional and took his time answering our questions. We could not be happier with the service and care Ignacio and Advocate Construction showed us today. They are top notch! read more

First off the guys were on the roof at 6am banging and woke up my kids. Then they were throwing stuff everywhere. All the packaging to the new stuff was all over my neighborhood. I witnessed atleast 3 of my neighbors picking up their trash. They were very unprofessional and spent a lot of time standing around laughing and talking. Sad part is my other neighbor got their roof done 4 days prior to this and they were beyond professional and efficient. They never left pieces of the trash and shingles everywhere. They started at a respectable time and were done before 3pm. It was almost 7pm and they still werent done. What makes it worse is the guy knocked on my door a week ago and we debated using this company but now I can guarantee a 1000% we deffinatley won't b using them or referring them EVER!!! read more

Andrew from Advocate inspected my roof on 11/3/2020 and told me the shingles were damaged and needed to be replaced as well as other roof damage. He pressured me to call my insurance company claims department RIGHT THEN, and to authorize them to speak directly with him on my behalf so he could represent my interests and get the insurance claim going. I told Andrew I wasn't sure about calling my insurance company's claims office, and he assured me that there was nothing to worry about...nothing at all...that my insurance rates would not go up just for filing the claim -- that it would not affect my rates unless the insurance company agreed to pay for the new roof. So I called my insurance company and authorized them to talk with Andrew about my roof. -- Eight days later the insurance adjuster came out and said there was no damage to the shingles on my roof, but was some minor damage to turbine cover, etc, and he would send an estimate of that minor damage. -- I called another roofer recommended to me by friends and he examined my roof and said there was NO damage to the roof shingles. None. After my insurance company provided an estimate of cost for the minor damage (which was less that my deductible) they advised me that the insurance claim I filed for the roof would remain on my records for 5 YEARS and would likely affect my rates although they paid nothing. Another point people need to know: immediately AFTER Andrew got off the phone with my insurance claims adjuster, he told me that he would send Advocate's "contract" by email later that night and I was REQUIRED to sign it before he (Andrew) would meet with the insurance adjuster to inspect my roof and before he could work on my behalf to negotiate with the insurance company and persuade them to pay for the roof damages. He also began explaining how my insurance company was one of the most difficult ones to work with, etc., but he would do his best to get them to replace the roof. People, please read Advocate's "contract" closely. It is all about protecting Advocate's interests. I refused to sign it, and had I been told about this "requirement" and provided a copy to read upfront, I would never have called my insurance company. I refused to sign Advocate's "contract". I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about these dishonest business practices that I experienced, and also with the Missouri Attorney General's Office. Hope others consumers can benefit by my posting this review and taking these other actions. read more
