I hired Schneider to replace roof, siding, and gutters on a 4 family in st Charles. They were not good with getting things done in a timely manner or communicating. They use subcontractors which I was not impressed with. They did however come and fix things they messed up. Price was more than I wanted to pay but thought I was using a company that did their own work and was willing to pay for that. It took about 10 months from estimate to completion of job. read more

The latest repair we had done has been a mess from start to finish-no reply to phone calls, estimates took forever to get completed, and the final straw when I paid the final payment they charges my credit card the entire job amount not the amount due! To say they are the best in town would be a fib; cause I haven't experienced all the other roofers:) My experience w/Schneider has me as a repeat customer which means I will not be experiencing another company as long as they continue to give quality, reasonable service. I am a shut-in and unable to visit the job site. I request pictures of the finished project and I also went sneaky...I had another roofing company inspect the roof for possible problems to which they responded "everything was fine and in tack", my tenant concurred. The other roofer couldn't even fake a mistake. I have hired Schneider for repairs to my home roof and replacement for a rental and have been very satisfied with their skills and customer service experienced from the office. Terrible communication and customer service. I never actually had any work done because they would never call me back. They came out for an estimate after two requests to schedule. They never followed up after the initial estimate. I called back 3 times and left messages to schedule the work. They called me back and couldn't find my quote. I called back twice more to schedule and never heard back. Not sure how a business can operate this way. read more

Very unprofessional. Was working with one of their roofers who came out to do an assessment, which went well, he even met with my insurance adjuster when she came out - but when she said the damaged area wouldn't meet my deductible they didn't seem interested in helping anymore. Didn't reply to multiple voice-mails, texts, and e-mails. At least let me know you don't want to take the job on so I don't sit around with a damaged roof waiting for direction! Sad! read more

It was my first homeowner's claim and they met with our adjuster to review what they found as a roofer, provided all of the necessary paperwork for me to submit when asked, and gave us time to pay the balance (we were waiting on a 2nd check from our insurance company after the repair was made). I have never been as disappointed with a company as I am with Schneider. We had a great experience last year when Charlie showed up to look at a leak and ended up fixing our roof same day. Unfortunately it leaked again this year and it has been like working with a completely different company in the worst way possible. We went weeks with no returned phone calls until Charlie came by to check things out. Again, he was helpful, kind and respectful. He explained the situation and got us a bid to fix it. We tried to call the main number multiple times over a couple of weeks and never heard back. Finally I got a call in the middle of a work day with someone saying they could be at my house in two hours, but nothing had been scheduled previously. When I said I couldn't leave my job, I was met with attitude and condescension, but we rescheduled the appointment. They never showed up for their appointment, and when I called, Courtney, the woman who answered, had no idea who I was or that there was supposed to be a repair at my house. She was kind and seemed willing to help, saying she'd do some digging and would call me back. She called back and handed the phone to Bob. I'm not sure who Bob is, but I've never been so disrespected in my entire life. He yelled at me, talked over me, lied about me and my husband, and accused me of asking for free work. After being completely rude, demeaning and condescending, he then said they refuse to work with us and will not stand by the work they already did. He continued to tell me he'd "pray for me, because I need it". I tried to end the conversation multiple times, but he kept demeaning me. He finally tried to hang up on me, but failed, so I heard him screaming about me in the background before he finally hung up. Never have I ever been treated so poorly in my life, and especially by a Christian company. It's very disappointing because we were so grateful for Schneider the first time they did a repair at our house. Courtney did have a long list of people that no longer work for Schneider, now I understand why. read more

I came across Charlie's business on Yelp, didn't expect too much. However, I did asked three different vendors to give me an estimate. Charlie was the quickest turnaround and gave me the lowest quotes of them all. He was very professional and seemed to be extremely knowledgeable about his line of business. I also had some minor damage on the vents, others made a big deal and suggested me to fix it right away. He told me they were not as serious. He took a picture and sent it to me. They were barely noticeable. I live out of town and never met this guy, everything did over the phone. He could have charged me more if he wanted to, but he didn't. Schneider Roofing and Remodeling has repaired siding for us on two different occasions. First was after a wind-storm blew siding off the side of our house on the second level. They came out quickly to give a bid, gave an extremely reasonable price, and put us on the schedule right away. They were prompt, the siding matched perfectly, and we have had no further problems with the wind-storms. The second time they came out was to repair a few pieces on the back after our deck contractor broke them. The deck contractor actually had their own siding guy look at it first, but he could not do the work.
