On Dec 7th, 2025, The Doctor was suffering from what we thought was heartburn. He took the usual actions to relieve the pain, but nothing was working. On Dec 8th, he had some ginger ale through a straw to help make him burp. About 15 min later, he was sweating, had a fever of 103 degrees and was shaking. I rushed him in the car and we head to Evanston Hospital (that will be a different review). We got to the emergency room and The Doctor was admitted right away. Several test and a CT scan revealed that a large gallstone had gotten stuck in his duct and caused all kinds of back-up and infection. The liver enzymes were off the chart and he had pancreatitis. The Doctor was in so much pain that he was given morphine multiple times and placed on massive antibiotics to deal with the infection. It was decided that a stent needed to be put into the duct to open it up and then remove the gallbladder. Problem was, there were no available beds and they felt that the procedures needed to move fast, so they found him a bed at Highland Park. He was transported by ambulance and by the time I got his things and got to the hospital, he was already in his room. The Doctor had the stent put in that Monday and the gallbladder removed that Tuesday. He was in the hospital for five days, so I worked remotely in his room. The room was really nice and I liked the set up they had. There was this seating arrangement that looked like a sofa, but it was split in middle with a table between two seating areas. I was able to work comfortably there the entire five days. The bathroom was very clean and large, with plenty of room for someone on a walker to get in and out. The Doctor did not use it initially because he was hooked up to a lot of tubes for antibiotics and monitoring. The staff came in every day though to clean the room and the bathroom. Sheets were changes when The Doctor was out of the room, but not everyday. This was not a problem since The Doctor was no mobile the entire time he was there. The Docs, Nurses and Staff were all very nice, constantly checking in on The Doctor and even asking me if there was anything I needed. The food was actually ok in terms of the menu The Doctor was allowed to eat from, although he was not all that hungry. There was a liquid and full liquid diet, then he went to a full diet. When he could eat, he got a cod dinner and a burger on the days he could eat. I had several bites and it definitely needed some seasoning, but a little tajin fixed it up for me. The hospital itself was clean and the check-in staff were nice. The cafeteria is an experience as it is in the basement. You will definitely get in a lot of steps getting there and back to your loved one. There is also a small self serve market on the first floor that has quick fixes for snacks, meals and drinks. In the main area is a digital Starbucks machine if you want a quick coffee. And several times I ran into these robots, who were on their way someplace. One got on the elevator with me. I have no idea why, but I did say "Hey what's up?" to it just in case...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I see this hospital has a low Yelp rating and I am not discounting those Yelper's experiences. Normally I am so obsessed with having a paper copy, but they turned me away. Without food or my morning coffee this did not make for a good start to the day. Literally no doctor could see me right away in my area, the minute clinic was not interested in helping me, and any doctor or clinic accepting "walk in"s for that day and the next 2 were super far and I didn't wanna navigate confusing directions for 45-60 minutes with an arm that looked & feels like bloody ABC gum. I just wanted a doctors opinion, it dressed adequately, and some hugs from my sweet black Yorkie doggie. As a last resort I started searching local doctors & called here. The receptionist I spoke to tried her damnedest to get me in immediately but couldn't so I had to wait for Monday AM. I liked they had a shared covered parking garage with free parking, they are in walking distance of the Metra and bus, and that the waiting room was very spacious and they have free WiFi. The wait was moments after check in. I saw Dr. Breger who was very personable, calm, and respectful. He also seems very knowledgable (I'd expect that since he is a teaching affiliate of University of Chicago School of Medicine). I wouldn't hesitate to visit again for check up hopefully not an illness or bite. Or a less boring one, like a vampire or ware wolf bite. Then again he didn't do a ware wolf test. I have seen numerous doctors and nurse practitioners and have always had the absolutely highest quality care. I have never, not even a single time, had a negative experience with anyone. Each doctor has their own style and there are plenty to choose from to find one that you like best. As I'm getting older and things feel like they are breaking down, they have been excellent at quickly diagnosing and recommending next steps. As a logical person who questions everything, they have always been on the right track. I haven't had any issues with the Billing Department, they send a bill, I pay it so there's no problems there. I did once question why insurance didn't cover a small amount on a procedure and they put that amount on hold to research it for me, which I was happy that they did. There are two levels of indoor parking right in the building and while it is fairly full, very rare do I not find a parking space. Also there is outdoor parking along both sides of the building with plenty of available parking, and also convenient. The office itself is nice, clean, and spacious. It is not overdone or ostentatious by any means. I love that it is hugely spacious because when I'm visiting a doctor I do not want to be sitting close to anyone else who might be sick with who knows what. When you walk in they also provide hand santizer, masks, and Kleenex. I do have one complaint though - LACK OF MAGAZINES!! I do wish that there were far more magazines and a huge variety, even though the wait is generally not more than 15 minutes. It's always a nice opportunity to have some time and a collection of magazines to browse through. I'm told that everyone brings them to the rooms, and there are some magazines in the room, which is nice, but I do wish they had far more. Overall, I highly recommend Ravinia Associates. They are excellent and the best!

Unfortunately, at some point Dr. Schott became greedy and realized he gets nothing financially for authorizing prescription refills without having the patient stick their toe in the office. This is greed. Greed has never played well with me. I hope Dr. Schott will set aside his greed so that my positive opinion of him can return.

From the moment I walked into this office, Dr. Kaplan and his staff made me feel totally comfortable. They are personable, accommodating and no crazy wait times. Even on the walk in basis for weekly shots. Dr. Kaplan TRULY cares about his patients well being. He takes his time to go over all the details of your care and if anything should be altered in your medications. And, ok this is a little thing but... unlike most offices, they even have a total array of current magazines to read while waiting the 30 min necessary post allergy shot. Dr. Breger left a condescending voice message saying how much easier it would have been to call Suncrest Hospice. If he knew what he was talking about, he would know, they blacklisted me, and lied in the medical records. He has refused to change the death certificate, because my 86 year old mother chose not to have a biopsy of her diagnosed terminal stage 4 lung cancer, which metastasized to her brain. He threatened to take me down if I continued "harassing him." A hospice physician. A grieving 58 year old daughter. What a joke. Instead of helping me, they traumatized me, severely traumatized me. And broke a lot of regulations and laws.

Couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of care (thoroughness, knowledge, advice and outstanding communication / people skills - huge differentiator over my prior doctor). The rest of the onsite team I interacted with was terrific too - warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, efficient - all around great experience. Had a follow-up appt today via zoom. Again - great experience. Your model works great for me as I travel quite a bit and being able to get care in different locations in person, via app or video call is super important to me. Truly grateful for the excellent quality of care along with the innovation which makes getting healthcare so much easier!

Everyone knows who you are after only a couple of visits. All appointments are followed up by a thorough report on their site. I had an after hours issue that I reported by phone. The response was almost immediate. I received an email detailing what I should do if my pharmacy was closed overnight. The prescription was ready within a couple hours. The response was really impressive. I highly recommend the office.

I'd kind of given up on medicine being anything but a brief exchange of fees for services.To give you an idea of how diligent she is when I told her I was going to transfer the care of my adult son (who has multiple disabilities) to her she asked to have his chart so she could take it home to read thoroughly. Dr. Kirley returns phone calls and emails promptly and has even helped with insurance issues, convincing specialists to see me despite their distaste with my insurance plan. I strongly suggest that if you are looking for a primary care doc check out Dr. K. or any of her associates at this location. BTW: they are family practice specialists not internists if that matters to you.

During my annual physical, I felt that the care provided fell significantly below the expected standard. While annual physical is supposed to be a comprehensive review of my physical health, she rushed it through in less than 10 minutes, largely checking the boxes and lack of care at all. What is worse is her abusive billing practice afterwards. I was diagnosed with an early-stage chronical disease in the past that did not require treatment. During this visit, she proactively asked about it and I immediately stopped her by saying we don't need to talk about it. Still, she billed me for an additional office visit on top of the annual physical. Just like that, no treatment, no prescription, her asking me a question and my stopping her right away, she charged me an extra office visit! Outrageous! If you are looking for a new doctor or an existing patient going back to see her, watch out closely for her billing!
