We had a house fire last year and needed a contractor who would help us rebuild. AEG stepped up and delivered. Adam and his team did an excellent job of rebuilding our home. Never once did we have to call for updates. Adam and his team were extremely informative about the process. Today we are moving in our home. Using AEG will be your worst decision ever, unless of course you want to get screwed. I do not understand how this company got any decent reviews from any real customer. We were assured by Adam that all work would be done by his own men and only electrical and plumbing were subcontracted. This is a lie, every last bit of work was subcontracted and every last bit of work and product used is substandard. Job was supposed to take 5 months, job took 11 months. Roof leaks, was not vented, roof boards popping up and needs to be replaced. Windows installed improperly and leak causing water damage in ceilings and walls. Siding is wavy. Ceramic tiles popping up and cracking. Wood floors uneven and warping. Sheetrock looks like a child did it. Used MDF pressed wood for base molding which all needs to be replaced. Cabinets not secured properly to walls, 2 have fallen off. The Schedule A detailing scope of work prepared and presented was not adhered to as it should have been by law. Verbalized concerns during the project were always met with arrogance and belligerence from Adam. There was plenty of money in this claim to cover everything, yet we received the bare minimum. I am sure however, that my insurance agent who went to great effort to ensure that I only use a specific Public Adjuster who went to great effort to ensure I use Adam @ AEG all did quite well for themselves. I am also sure that this process was not exactly legal. Good thing there is NO statue of limitations with the Nassau County Dept. of Consumer Affairs who holds AEG's license. read more

Shady.his 'team' consists of foreigners that aren't even builders or handymen.owner can't even swing a hammer...by his own admission! Project was supposed to take 6 weeks tool 9 mths.i had to practically stand over them so they wouldn't install any more crooked floor tiles.never gave me the necessary legal paperwork at projects start.watch them careful if for some dumb reason you use them. read more

We hired AEG after a fire and they handled everything. We had siding and windows replaced, cement walkway and vent added to the foundation done. The fence was also replaced. The work was excellent and many neighbors have commented on the great job. Adam stayed on top of everything even through the covid shutdown. He was professional and answered every question and text promptly. I can not say enough about AEG and HIGHLY recommend. read more

Very bad- did a fire rebuild on my home- new windows drafty, paint job was terrible, dry wall looked like a 3 year old did it and they never finished the job. I had to hire other contractors to finish the job because of their incompetence. BTW this was a 250000 dollar job...unreal read more

Terrible. I had to do a complete gut & remodel of the top floor of my townhouse due to an extremely leaky roof. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living/dining room & kitchen. Went through my insurance company. Was recommended to AEG by my INDEPENDENT Insurance Adjuster (which in hindsight was a huge red flag-NEVER do this). Very shady business practices on AEG's part. 1. They subcontract their work (Adding unnecessary cost to the home owner). 2. They tried to force me to use substandard materials from what I previously had in my home even though my insurance entitled me to materials of equal value. 3. They are TERRIBLE at communication. Weeks went by where no one was working on my home with no warning via text/phone call/email from AEG. 4.The job was supposed to take 6-8 weeks tops. After 10th week and job only being 50% complete, I had to get rid of them & find a new company. If you're handling medium-large home repairs through your insurance, it seems like this company does everything in their power to keep you (The homeowner/policy owner) in the dark in terms of HOURLY LABOR RATE. Also the owner has very little respect for your time & doesn't feel he has to communicate with homeowner at all. $50,000+ job and no consideration. read more

At first I believed this company was a godsend but after the work was supposedly done and there is no more money from the insurance agency....I can no longer get anyone to come back or just even answer or return our calls! Our fire was about 2 years ago and we should not be having the problems we are having (floor tiles lifting, shoddy roof work, a kitchen window that was installed improperly and has never stayed open on its own, a BRAND NEW central heating and cooling system that has been giving us trouble almost from the start...to name a few) but no one has the decency to answer their phone or even return our calls! I wish I could give less than one star! I don't know where all of the money went but I suspect that many shortcuts were taken and that the cheapest materials and labor were used. read more

We hired them to open up the first floor of our Cape Cod, and they completely helped me re-imagine the space taking down several walls to create a true open-concept layout. On March. 2013 I had a fire in my basement that spread through out my house. I hired Adam at AEG Restoration and I am so glad I did. They restored my house better then it ever was. They were very fair and responsible. They worked with what my insurance company was willing to pay and made sure my whole house was completed. Every time I had a question I was able to speak to them even on a Sunday which most companies are closed and would not answer. I heard of other companies taking the money and running but in my case I was very lucky to get a contractor that cared. On occasion when I stopped by to see the progress even my kids liked the owner and works who were very friendly.When it came time to choosing cabinets and granite i was able to go into Adams Building and choose right then and there. Adam made the renovation of my home very fast and he was always there if i had any questions and he took the time to make sure i was getting everything i needed from the insurance company. My mother's house burned up after the power was restored from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. AEG was highly recommended by a close family friend; and, the results were outstanding. The whole house was destroyed by the electrical fire; and, now the house looks like a masterpiece. There is NO trace of the effects of the fire. The AEG team restored the house to a level never believed possible. The hardwood floors shine like glass. The extra rails for the stairs; rails for the tub; and, other amenities helps my 80+ years young mother; enjoy a quality of life we used to only dream of. Our family is very pleased with the work AEG has done for us. AEG Restoration Corp is a great construction company that I thrust, and I would recommend it to all my good friends and anyone else. Adam Goldsmith the owner was very honest from the beginning to the end. When we sign the contract, he clearly explained to me how the process will work and how the construction will be done. He gave me a time frame between 4 to 6 weeks. The overall project took exactly 4 weeks. His worker James was also very honest, talented, and loves his job. Everything was done the way we wanted it. AEG Restoration recently completed a major reconstruction of my Queens home badly damaged by a fallen tree during Hurricane Sandy. My wife and I were forced to relocate during construction. The company handled every aspect of the job in a professional and knowledgeable manner. All costs were agreed upon prior to the start of work; there were no surprises.The house is located in a NYC Landmarks District. Construction therefore had to meet mandated specifications. i hope people read these reviews before making a decision! when you have a house fire and do not know who to trust & are scared, along comes a person that 'will help you'....beware of these words. that person brings their 'friend', the contractor....AEG. they work fast at the beginning, then take their time;they are probably starting other jobs. Adam is a shrewd businessman. his crew are all family & 'handymen'. do not trust this situation. they are NOT construction people by trade! keep looking & do not let him sweet talk you into trusting them. you will be held up for months, instead of the promised 6 weeks!! read more

Due to a flood we needed our basement and upstairs bathroom completely renovated. AEG's team that worked on our home were great. This was a big job and due to set backs of weather/storms/product delays due to Manufacturers this job took a lot longer then it should have. We dealt with James and his crew- always the same team which is reassuring. I have a one year old and they always made sure things were neat and safe for my family. Adam is doing a rebuild on my parents home that was lost in January 2018 to a fire along with my Dad...my Mom had to find a new place to call home. Adam agreed to do the renovations on her new home. From beginning to end he provided top level service. As we walked thru the co-op I could see his attention to detail.
