History
Established in 1979.
AEMS was first formed in 1979 as Automated Energy Management Systems by Roy Matthews, a long-time New Jersey based entrepreneur. For the first few years in business, the company's only focus was to design, build, install, and maintain building temperature control systems and energy management systems of all types. Over the years the company evolved into a full-service HVAC and plumbing services organization that specialized in energy efficient HVAC products. In May 2016, after a little more than 35 years of day-to-day involvement with the business, Roy decided to transition to a strategic advisory role, and both Roy and his partner and service manager, Mike Ruberto, sold their respective ownership stakes in the company to Sudeep Das, a private investor and New Jersey resident.
Meet the Business Owner: Sudeep D.
Sudeep Das is a Civil and Environmental Engineer by training, and has a total of 17 years of experience in the Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Technology Services industries. Sudeep is a graduate of the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, University of Toledo's College of Engineering and Malaviya National Institute of Technology (India). Sudeep acquired the business from founder Roy Matthews in May 2016.
