Never have I seen someone run an establishment like this, where teachers gossip like teenage girls, show extreme favoritism, and create a toxic environment for dancers. My child's confidence was degraded due to the treatment she received from several teachers. She only liked three of the many teachers she had because those teachers actually uplifted her, which is why she stayed for as long as she did.

So for our 5th anniversary we decided to come back to Long Beach but this time my fiancée had several groupon deals to choose from. So out of the 5 options I chose the Queen Mary tour and the painting class with wine. That's how we stumbled across Creative Canvas LA. Laniqua (the owner) was awesome from the moment we called her to see if she would accept our groupon the next day. She saved a spot for us and asked to send her an email once we purchased the groupon so she could make it official. Very cool! Trying to find the place wasn't too hard but we did have to ask a restaurant near by where we could find the painting class. Fortunately for us, they knew exactly what we were talking about and point us along the way. Upon arriving, we had the opportunity to meet Laniqua in person and she remembered it was our anniversary while pointing us to our seats and blank canvases. She had an assistant who was awesome and very helpful while Laniqua walked us through the steps. The only negative was that the groupon said the class comes with a free glass of wine but there wasn't any available and if we did want drinks we had to purchase them from the bar next door. Other than that, the class was fun and very interesting the way you learn how to paint w picture. She had funny jokes and I really appreciated her coming around to help us individually when we were stuck or to save our paintings from our own destruction. I am not an artist naturally. Whenever I have to draw something I usually warn people that it won't be pretty. At the end of the session, and with the help of a glass of wine, I couldn't believe how well my painting turned out. Even for someone who really isn't drawn to painting, it was much easier than I thought when Myia broke it down step by step. I love it so much, and have it proudly displayed in my room right now. Circus Vargas is one of the last of the old time circuses, it is fun, not pricey and a great time…read morefor everyone. There are so few left, you should go while you can. They don't use animals and have not for years, they just offer family fun and laughs. The circus moves around from town to town so just go to their website and fine out when they will be near you. They have everything, clowns, trapeze artists, motorcycles, great acts, jugglers and just funny guys. It is very talented people working for little pay to keep their dream alive and entertain you. The place is always clean and they have so much food to offer and you won't go broke. They have toys and there is just not a bad seat in the house, the tent is not that huge anymore. This is just as good as Cirque without the pretense. It is just fun. Please go and take your grandkids. I doubt there will be a traveling circus like this in 20 years, so do it and have the best time.
