History
Established in 2009.
Aerial Fit is located in the Circus Building. Charleston's first dedicated circus space. Circus Building has been designed and re-engineered for circus arts. With 25 foot high ceilings and over 21 rig points, it is the perfect new home for Aerial Fit.
Aerial Fit always carried an industry standard insurance policy that requires full safety compliance. We use only the highest quality gear that has undergone strict safety testing, and we inspect our gear on a regular basis.
We have a gymnast floor and use crash mats in a thickness appropriate to the apparatus and working height, and we keep our class sizes small so that all students will have the personal attention and spotting they need to safely progress.
Meet the Business Owner: Jordan A.
In 2009 Jordan was part of the very first group of teachers in the world to receive the Unnata® Aerial Yoga teacher certification through Michelle Dortignac, founder of the technique, and she has been teaching ever since. In that time a rich community of aerial yoga teachers has grown around the US and the world, and Jordan is thrilled to be one of the first.
Jordan has logged several thousand hours of training in the higher flying aerial arts, with her main focus being aerial silks and sling. She seeks out pioneers in the field, and has been especially influenced by her training with The New England Center for Circus Arts. She has trained regionally and internationally, seeking out such names as Streb, TSNY, Gravityworks, Tripischore Yoga, and local instructors and collaborators in Charleston, SC.
