I booked my birthday party here and my 9 guests and I had a great time. Our instructor was Sydney and she made us all feel so comfortable, encouraged, and sexy. There were definitely some nerves in the group as we entered, but she completely assuaged them once we all got there and made sure that everyone was able to be successful on the pole (even the men!!!) and even though it was everyone's first time doing it! She definitely knew her stuff and catered some of her instruction to how we were doing which really gave us a personalized experience. Sydney made sure all of our pictures came out cute and it was clear she was really invested in making sure we had what we wanted. Our party included a personalized playlist that I made, a money gun, really cool lighting, a few moves, a bit of choreography, champagne, photo shoot and polaroid, solo time on the pole, and personalized instruction. Booking was easy and communication was good. This party was seriously my best birthday yet and Inversions exceeded my expectations. Every single one of my guests could not stop talking about how much fun they had, how glad they are that they decided to go out of their comfort zone, and how they want to do it again. If you're thinking about booking a party here, GO FOR IT. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again to Sydney for the amazing experience!

Did a pole dancing class during a bachelorette weekend. Our group enjoyed this a lot- our instructor taught us floor and pole moves and was very patient with us. It could be a little out of a comfort zone but she makes you feel comfortable. Also appreciated how much she was instilling confidence in us. Strongly recommend this!!

Though I had been interested/curious in pole fitness for a while, I was always kind of nervous to try it. When Inversions offered a 5 week Living Social deal last year, I knew it was the perfect opportunity. Yes, you will feel a little awkward, be covered in bruises, and think you're not strong enough for pole after the first class, but stick with it and you will be hooked! I've been a client for over 6 months now and I seriously look forward to my Saturday morning pole class ALL week! Besides just being a lot of fun, I have definitely built up some serious core and arm strength, as well as flexibility...and that's just from going once a week. Lisa is an awesome instructor and the small class sizes mean you get really comfortable with the other ladies in your sessions. The studio has 9 poles and several pricing/class options. I strongly encourage anyone thinking about trying pole fitness to visit Inversions (in fact, if you look at their website, there are plenty of sample classes you can try with other newbies)! I love it so much and have probably never felt more sexy and confident.

This place was AWESOME! I booked it for my friend's bachlorette party and it was so much fun. The instructor was super friendly.

The classes are mostly one hour, but a couple are a little bit longer, and you will definitely feel like you got a good workout. Most of the moves are pretty traditional yoga poses and you can look around at your neighbors if you're not sure what to do. Where the challenge comes in is that the temperature is about 90 while you workout, hence the sweat. But it seriously feels so good. Virginia is an amazing instructor and I really appreciate her emphasis on going at your own pace and ability. If you are looking for something different to mix up your workout routine, or ate just looking for an awesome yoga class, I definitely recommend Charleston Power Yoga.

I'll start with the good, because it was excellent and more than 5 stars: the teacher, Crystal (sp?). The gentleman next to me told me before class that her background was in dance and her flow was indeed creative, incorporated poses and transitions new to me along with familiar ones. The $30 drop in rate was totally worth it for her class! Alas. I am gobsmacked that the studio doesn't have a water fountain. The slightly snippy gent at the front desk pointed to the cooler where I could buy water and said they take cards. What? I found the tiny bathroom in the back and filled my bottle with tap water, TYVM. As the same friendly gent at the mat next to me said "I'd neve thought about it but as a visitor that would make me mad too." Excellent teacher, underwhelming basics at the studio, won't return.

The instructor was really nice and it was easy to follow. This was one of the most challenging workouts I've done in a long time! I love HyLo for the showers alone. The women's shower is a full room, with marble walls, and all the accoutrements you'd need--soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, towels, and even a scale. My only complaint is that they don't have makeup remover or any hair products in the bathroom when I'm getting ready after my workout, but I just bring what I need from home. The HY classes really work you in the cardio department. They all use a combination of spin bikes, rowing machines, free weights / kettlebells, ropes, TRX things (idk what they're called), and body weight to perform a lot of exercises in a short period of time with a lot of energy. Similar to what I assume some crossfit classes include. The LO classes use a special board to use your body weight and weighted poles or rubber bands to strengthen your body using your own body weight. This is most similar to pilates, barre, or yoga. All of which I'm terrible at, as I have the upper body strength of a newborn baby. Both classes totally kick my butt and make me feel like I've really worked my body hard! Highly recommend!

I usually frequent the West Ashley location, but it is only a few months old so it's not yet on Yelp. Emily Valentine teaches core vinyasa on Sundays, and it is always a great time! She has an amazing playlist and is always motivating and supportive. I always leave feeling like I really worked out my whole body and I am ALWAYS sore the next few days, but it's a good feeling because I know I worked hard in Emily's class! I also highly recommend their assisted deep stretch class. It's very relaxing and it feels so good to stretch and take your mind off of everything going on. The studio spaces are always clean and well taken care of. There's only been a couple times where a class was really crowded, but we always make it work!

All that could have been ok if the class had been ... enjoyable enough to do. Why did the teacher have a headpiece for screaming instructions, when there is no way the room wouldn't be covered just fine by her voice. I tried for about fifteen minutes, trying to follow her sometimes muted screaming by looking around me. I gave up and went to the front desk where they kindly said this was normal and offered me a cup of earplugs to pick from. I took them and used them for about three minutes when I gave up. The place purposefully makes it so loud that they have odes of earplugs in a cute little jar on the counter. That's just messed up. I usually do vinyasa flow, my friend does Bikram and neither of us really knew what this class was. Worst $30 one a class pass ever.
