I love taking aerial classes in other cities! It's always a little intimidating, especially when I decide to train on an apparatus other than pole. My friend took me to a Level 1.5 lyra class, and it was very approachable for me. Signing up for class in advance was easy. Parking can be challenging so arrive with plenty of time. Lots of delicious restaurants nearby if you decide to grab a bite to eat after. I can't wait to come back! I had so much fun and enjoyed the sense of community. This review is for an event which happened in December 2025. I'm very disappointed with the conduct shown by a specific instructor, Chandler. I previously thought quite highly of this person, but the very last class I attended at Aerial Revolution consisted of myself and two other girls. Chandler spent the entire time chatting it up with the two other girls and basically pretending I didn't exist. Because it was such a small class I guess and because Chandler knew the other two girls, she felt comfortable enough to turn off her "professional" demeanor and turning on her "mean girl" one. I cannot stress enough that she ONLY made efforts to address and speak to these other two girls. If I made a comment or asked a question, it was briefly addressed and brushed passed. At no point was I included in the conversation and I got the sense that she was annoyed I was even there. Incredibly cliquey behavior and super disappointing. read more

I recently signed up for aerial silks, and due to their current policy, I had to take a Level 1 class. While it was a good opportunity to revisit foundational moves for myself, the teacher-to-student ratio was too large. Beginners who needed more one-on-one attention weren't getting adequate support. I'd recommend reducing the number of silks available and having students rotate, allowing for more individualized instruction. This could also help maintain better hygiene--once all the silks were unwrapped, the room quickly filled with an unpleasant odor, which was distracting. Cleanliness and the overall quality of the class were major concerns for me. read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past due to the funny location. Often times late to class at 6PM due to traffic unfortunately but each instructor I've had has been welcoming and friendly regardless. Classes can be a bit small and that's a great thing because a student receives more one on one instruction/attention. My boyfriend and I have been taking aerial yoga on tuesdays and have been having so much fun building strength that I brought my mom! Aerial arts is a MUST TRY for anyone scared, that's good! The first few aerial yoga classes I took were at Trilogy Sanctuary awhile back. It was such an amazing experience that I wanted to go again. Unfortunately, the class I booked there was cancelled. Glad that I found Aerial Revolution. It's an amazing space. When I walked in, there was a sign that said "The noblest art is that of making others happy" which I truly believe. Some of the warm ups were too much for me. They went a little too fast. The people in our class were helpful. I hope to go back again, if I can. The only negative of my experience was that people were coming in during our class and it made it hard for me. My only regret, was that I forgot to ask someone to take pictures. read more

For almost two years I drove by this venue and I did not realize it was an Aerial Silk establishment until about two months ago. I have been wanting try an Aerial Silk class for some time. On ClassPass I found that this location offers and Aerial Silk Beginners class. They have a very small parking lot with two or three designated spaces. I had to find street parking. It was not too bad because I parked across the street. The class started with a dynamic warm up followed by stretching. There were about six women taking this mid-morning class. Three of us (including me) were new. The first skill we learned was climbing the silk rope. We were taught two different ways by Chandler to climb the silk. I struggled with this task. I have very little upper body strength; in addition, larger lower body muscles. Then we learned how to tie our foot in the silk to start to learn tricks. The first trick we learned was "Tip the Hat" and two other tricks. We had some time after learning the tricks to practice. The more experienced women were working on other tricks. This was a really fun class and Chandler was helpful talking me through the tricks. I think I found another hobby! Haha! read more

Recently moved to SD and was looking for a new aerial studio to train at since I've been training for a few years. Bought the 10-pack of classes since it was the best deal. The registration and check-in process is really easy and they have very attentive front-desk staff that are knowledgeable and answer the phones right away. I felt very welcomed by the instructors and felt like I got a lot out of each one-hour class. The levels feel appropriate to skills taught. Level 1 classes fill up quickly but there are almost always no-shows so you can usually get in from the waitlist. Parking can be a bit challenging depending on what time of day you go. They have about four designated spaces but those are always taken when I arrive (usually weeknight evening classes) so I always have to street park. Usually there is street parking within a block of the studio, but arrive extra early just in case. One time I came during the day and all the nearby street parking was full too! Can't wait to come back and take more classes. read more

This review is for the aerial yoga. The aerial yoga room is upstairs in this kind of factory-like facility. No windows, and it smells a bit off due to there being no circulation. The floors are hard tile, and the loaner mats are a bit old/dirty so be sure to bring your own mat (a thick one if you have). The silks were similarly not-great-smelling and could have used a wash. Definitely a more no-frills place to try aerial yoga compared to a studio with a little bit more of the creature comforts/cozy relaxing feel. It's a shame because a fresh coat of paint, a window, and some cozier flooring would do wonders. Class itself was good, but I prefer when they have a little more yoga/flow to them as opposed to just different stretches/poses in the silks. They also never offered to adjust the silk heights or measure people in, which is fairly important to a good aerial yoga session for me. Might not be important to some people, but for shorter/taller people it could make or break your first experience. I reeeeally wanted to like this place since it's one of just a few aerial yoga sites in SD, but after a few tries I think I'll have to move on. read more

Aerial Revolution was part of the entertainment offered last Thursday night at the grand opening of the Broadstone apartment complex in Little Italy. I found it a very original way to engage the possible customers or simply the audience gathered by the posh pool and contemplate and admire the elasticity of these guys and girls very Cirque du Soleil style! I liked the performances a lot, that were totally coordinated with the music offered. I did not know they offer classes, so I need to check that out (just happen to know now when I got ready to write a review). I think this type of entertainment bring us to the basics of childhood, when we (most of) all dreamed of traveling the world in a circus and performing arts and getting paid for it! Well, not everybody is that fit, so enjoy the candy for the eyes too! Will check out one of their classes and see what can I learn! read more

This review is long, long overdue! I first began my aerial adventures here a little over 2 years ago. They have aerial silks, aerial hammock, aerial hoop, aerial yoga, trapeze, Chinese pole, and flexibility classes among many others. After my first class, I was immediately hooked! Since the beginning of this year, I haven't been coming as regularly but I still go once in a while to learn new skills and catch up with my aerial buddies. All of the instructors go through a very meticulous certification process so they are very skilled and well trained. After taking multiple classes with different instructors, I haven't had an instructor I didn't like. Every season, they put an on aerial showcase where students and instructors can perform. These can also be considered fundraising events for the studio to raise money to replace the aerial hardware and supplies. If you're thinking about taking a class but aren't quite sure, just give it a shot. It's a very supportive environment, and Groupon usually does a great introductory deal for newcomers! read more

My daughter did Aerial at this place for 1 or 2 years and was in the Begginer class for kids. She was one of the only kids in that class that was succeding because they did the same thing every class and because of that she made no progress. I decided to pull her out of that class once she finished her 2nd show because both shows had the same tricks with different music. I attended my first aerial silks class today, something I've been wanting to try for some time. Obviously it can be a bit intimidating starting any new hobby but I must have chosen the right place/class or both! When I arrived at the front desk the gentleman that checked me in was sweet and welcoming. The studio is a large room that has different classes utilizing it simultaneously (or at least that's the way it seemed). Though it was never too crowded, and our class took up the majority of the space. My instructor was Lindsey Parker. The class is an hour long, including a ten minute warm up period (which might get you out of breath... in a good way ). Lindsey was awesome. Although this was a beginner class, each person had a different skill level and she was very attentive to that. We went over some of the basic silk exercises while she also gave options for more challenging poses to those with more experience. I came in with zero knowledge and Lindsey made it easy to keep up. I highly recommend Aerial Revolution for anyone interested in trying out silks, and definitely take Lindsey's class! read more

Student:silk ratio? 1:1 What level is their L2 class? I can only compare to LA... I would say it was comparable to a Cirque School 102 class? It was easier than a Womack&Bowman Silks2, Aeriform intermediate and Aerial Physique intermediate class. How high are the ceilings? Average (but even their highest point felt a tiny bit low...). I had decided to try out some aerial arts after watching some Cirque du Soleil performances - I think in particular Zumanity. Silks looked the most epic, dramatic, beautiful to me, so that's what I set out to do! In the first class, they mainly taught the beginners how to do some basic climbs which was REALLY scary considering how scared of heights I was. The teachers are really great, and it's crazy how fast you can progress here. Most of the students I've met had only been going around ~6+ months and could do a ton of advanced tricks. I thought it was pretty inspiring to see a wide range of ages participating and really nailing it. They offer student showcases a couple times a year to give students a chance to show off their progress to their friends/families, and they have a few staff performance that seem pro-level to me. My most recent discovery was their acroyoga classes and I can't wait to attend the acroyoga jams. Don't be scared to try out any of the classes! Where there's a will, there's a way! read more

I first heard about Aerial Revolution when a friend performed a silks routine at her own wedding! It was amazing. I then went to a few of the 1.5 hr beginner classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. They were $20 for drop in but you can get a class card for a discount. The classes started with a lot of stretching and warming up, then they broke up the people based on newbies, intermediate, and the advanced circus performers. Cheetah is an AMAZING teacher. He is so funny and taught us some cool easy tricks on the silks. You can also learn a lot of fun stuff on the Lyra (a big metal hoop thing hung from the ceiling), and the trapeze. It's a little intimidating because it is more like open gym then a class. You are kind of left on your own and need to ask to be taught new things. I always got a great workout, had fun, and learned some cool tricks though (check out my pics). They recently moved to Point Loma and I plan on going as soon as the new location opens up. It looks like the classes are restructured though and that it will be more inviting to the beginners. However, I gotta say, one of my favorite parts is sitting back and watching the circus people practice their flips and tumbles. You really feel like you're in a circus! read more

Came here for a Level 1 Aerial Silks class. Welcoming to newbies, but everyone else in my class had already done a few classes before so all could move pretty quickly through the class. (Everyone but me already knew how to climb and could usually do a hiplock. Have you SEEN a hiplock? It's so fast I can't even understand the steps happening.) This was a little tough for me, because the instructor didn't seem that patient with how slow I was. I am a visual learner and have issues with left-right orientation, especially when it's being done mirror to me. I know, I know, these are all personal issues, but it made it really hard for me to follow along. Another studio had more levelling issues with students, but the instructor was better able to break down the steps to help newbies understand. The class was still a great workout! And I really liked that the instructor didn't spend too much time on one move. She gave you the chance to try it, but then moved on pretty quickly. This can be bad if you're looking to practice a specific move, but pretty great if it doesn't look like you're ever going to be able to get it and you're ready to move onto the next thing. Avoid loose clothing and shorts to be able to get a better grip on the silks and not get fabric stuck. Class is shoeless/sockless. Bring a light sweater if it's cold weather because of poor ventilation in the building. You can take it off after you've warmed up. read more

I have NO experience in Aerial, unless you count the gymnastics classes I took when I was 6 lol. I was intimidated to say the least but this place made me feel so comfortable! Sure, there are people in the beginners classes who look pro but I feel like the instructors were able to split time evenly between more advanced students and first timers. I've taken 3 classes so far - Aerial Yoga, Aerial Silks, and Acro-Yoga and I've loved them all! The Acro class really sealed the deep for me though. This is a super neat place! I hear that all the aerial performers come here to practice and teach classes. I've always wanted to try a silks class and I'm so glad I did! I did silks 1 for the first time and it's definitely an experience. The first 20 minutes of class are stretches and warm ups then you learn different climbs and posts. They say you should do silks 1 at least 5 times before moving to the next level so you can see the people who've been to classes before practicing what they had learned. Our instructor was Lindsay and she was super friendly and helpful. She had a great pace, making sure all the newbies had a chance to try the move with her spotting before we moved on to the next thing. This studio is in a slightly sketchy part of town, and street parking can be crowded. It's not a very pleasant space, with extremely cheap and ugly florescent lighting (like an office building) in a large warehouse space where it appears little effort has been made to make the place welcoming or hospitable. The classes vary in quality. I've taken a sampling of silks, trapeze, aerial yoga and handbalancing here during my couple months' stay in San Diego recently, but I don't think I'll be going back. I really thought Maringa was a great teacher, and Laura, but the others were pretty hit or miss. Most are the typical circus crowd in that they're much more like performers than teachers and so don't seem well-trained in breaking down actual technique. However, circus studios are hard to find and I don't think there are many options in San Diego so it seems like the kind of place to just suck it up and go practice on your own sometimes, if you're a motivated, self-driven kind of person. Biggest thing that makes it lose stars for me is overall lack of professionalism. The front desk seems to be staffed by an endlessly rotating series of people who jog between either taking classes themselves or managing the front desk and never know how the business systems work. The place is ugly as I mentioned, badly lit and seldom clean. When I walked in the other week, there was some shirtless dude getting a *massage* from his girlfriend on a crash pad in the front room. What the hell, are we in somebody's house?? Is the studio a spa now?? The place is messy and classes are too full of people for proper supervision. I watched a beginner tie a foot-tie wrong for the entire class period and no one ever noticed. read more

I purchased a Groupon and was really excited to try out a class here. They specialize in aerial yoga and have classes in trapeze and silk. I love yoga and consider myself flexible and fit, however, the class I attended was just way to difficult and I never returned back to use the rest of my classes after. I attended a beginner's trapeze class and was told that it would be perfect for someone with no experience. I was wrong! The rest of the people in the class were so comfortable with the trapeze and knew exactly what they were doing. I had never been on a trapeze before and didn't know the proper techniques to grabbing it and moving my body on it. We were immediately shown various tricks on the bar and I just couldn't do a lot of them because I wasn't even sure where to begin. There was little guidance and my main concern was being spotted. I didn't want to try these things without knowing that I had a secure spot behind me. While it was a great experience to watch, I wish that they had even more beginner classes to help people who are looking to get into these forms of acro art! It would be nice for them to go through the process, rather than have the classes turn into people showing off their skills. read more

I take aerial silk classes at UCSD already, but came across this groupon that offered 10 silk classes for $69! Considering that their usual drop in rate is $22, this was a steal. This place is basically a warehouse that's been converted into a silks studio. It's nothing fancy, but it definitely does the job. There are several instructors and different circus arts that you could learn. I tend to stick to the silk classes as that's what I'm most comfortable with. I did take a lyra class, which was pretty fun, but my love will always belong to silks. Their classes are not always at the most convenient times and so I can only maybe attend one or two at most, a week. Honestly though, I'm so sore after a class or two that I couldn't successfully attend a third class even if I wanted to. The only downside, aside from their pricing, is that some of the instructors do not always break down the moves as well as you'd like. Luckily, I had a little background experience, so it was a little easier to learn. If you find an instructor you like, stick with them. If anything, speak up and ask for more clarification on how to do something. If you want to learn something cool and work out your upper body strength or flexibility, come here and try it. I've had friends who have tried silks and are hooked. Look out for groupon deals as they usually have something on there. read more

Wow. This sh-t is FUN. And EXHAUSTING. I did the aerial yoga the other day, and though I felt like I was getting a little bit of a workout, it wasn't terribly tiring. I couldn't move that night. My boyfriend had to help me get into PJs. It was ridiculous. I never would have thought I got that good of a workout. It was fantastic. And man, what a workout party. There are these swaths of silk hanging from the beams that you do twists and turns and stretches of poses and flips. As a first-timer I was nervous, but our teacher went at a comfortable pace, and made sure everyone knew to only do what they were comfortable doing (but still pushing us to do our best.) The studio is more circus-artsy than yoga-y, so if you're looking for zen this is probalby not the place for you. But if you're looking for something more interesting than normal, then check this place out. It was only $15 for a 90 minute class. I'm not even sure if that's sustainable, because there's only room for about a dozen people in a room for aerial yoga (you have to register before going). It's not silly, it's awesome and fun and a little risky. Step out of your breath-focused yoga and into one with a few gasps and giggles. Believe me, you won't regret it. read more

I took a mixed aerial arts class and a lyra (hoop) class. As someone that is only semi in shape and not terribly flexible it was tough but still fun. Observations: - As an only semi in shape and not terribly flexible person you will feel like a cow when you walk into this place. There are a lot of ballerina/gymnast type folks there that are very strong and very tiny. However, once the class gets going and you start talking to people you will find that everyone is very friendly and encouraging. More experienced students will help you out and give you tips. - 'class' is a somewhat misleading term as its not super structured. Its more like an open exercise session with the teacher walking around and giving pointers and step-by-step moves to try. You are somewhat left to your own devises in between instructions but fellow students will help you out. -They like to warm up/stretch a LOT. You'll spend the first 20-30 minutes of the class warming up. - Be prepared to push your boundaries of personal safety a bit. You will be hanging upside down from your knees, swinging around in the air, etc. It will be scary but once you get the move down it will also be really fun. - You WILL be sore - There are only a few parking spaces in front so you'll likely need to park on the street. read more

I took my first acrobatic class a few months back, and the song they were playing over the loud speakers was "Here comes the sun"--- the beatles, and this song describes and reminds me of Aerial Revolution! NO JOKE. Here's why : I wrote a pevious review for studio revolution, and now i'm writing one for aerial revolution entertainment- Yes, they are two diferent entities, but at the same location. There are two main floors- aerial revolution is the acrobatic portion of the business, and studio revolution is the yoga part of the business. Both are really fun! This place is so amazing. People have no idea - I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on this place. All the instructors here are so down to earth and ready to help you fly in the air! You could fly in the air with silks, the lyra or a trapeze. I know there's more options for you to fly in the air, but that's all I know since I haven't taken all the classes that's being offered yet. All the teachers here are so amazing, and it makes me want to be good like them! It's definitely hard work because I get tired easily :0 -- I'm already huffin and puffing 20 mins into the class, and we're not even fully flying in the air yet, LOL. I think if you come here often enough, you'll start to get buff! That's a good thing because it's a great work out. I know I can feel it all over my upper body the next day- good pain! What I like about this place is, there's no judgement. There are people of all ages, and all levels that come here, and not once have I ever felt that i'm being judge because I can't do something (there's a lot I can't do, lol) :) . They make you feel at ease about what your body can do, and they teach you on how to work with what you are able to do. There's no reason to not come back! I first came here toward the end of 2014 with my yoga teacher training class as a reward for completing our certification. The girl who ran my teacher training class had been taking aerial silks classes at Aerial Revolution for some time, and wanted us to experience a class firsthand. Before I walked in, I thought "this should be great, aerial yoga seems so relaxing and peaceful." Little did I know aerial silks and aerial yoga are NOT the same thing. Instead of having a peaceful yoga class where I got to hang out in a cocoon of silk for an hour, I got my butt kicked climbing up and down silks, tying my hands and feet, and attempting to hang from different body parts in a strange combo of bondage and contortion. Next thing you know, I buy a groupon and start coming to silks classes once or twice a week and I'm hooked. Aerial cirque classes HURT but they hurt so good. I'm a fitness junkie so this gym scratched my "I want to sweat my butt off and have trouble moving tomorrow" itch. My muscle definition has gone from "toned" to "swole" since I started coming here. If you want to build upper body and core strength, I can't think of a better way to work your muscles. The instructors here are super patient, they are all about safety, and they are great about tailoring classes for all levels of experience. If you're a first timer, and want to try a silks class, I recommend checking their schedule online and going to Tiffany's silks 1 class. She's very outgoing, funny, and welcoming to newcomers. If you're worried you'll feel completely inept trying such a graceful sport, well, you will.
