I've never been to an Aerie before... always walked right by it. But this time I decided to stop inside because I wanted to try something similar to GapBody, but not Victoria's Secret. I was pleasantly surprised by the options they have. I never take the sales help, but I did this time. They helped me with measuring and provided me with a lot of options for try on. Never made me feel rushed, everything was no pressure. I ended up signing up for their free rewards program which was painless because they were able to do it on an ipad without me waiting in the checkout line. Checkout was also really fast. Wow - what great staff at this store! I'm def not their typical shopper at 61, but I had seen a cute workout sweatshirt on Instagram I wanted to check out. I was instantly greeted, and asked what I was looking for. The salesperson sent me to the specific rack the sweatshirt was on. As I checked the rack, a different salesperson asked if I was finding the right size (or she'd be happy to check in back). Another salesperson checked with me when I tried things on. I am not one to leave a negative review,(in fact I don't know that I ever have) and especially not during the holiday season, but as someone who spends thousands of dollars at AE/Aerie every single year this experience was deplorable. I came in hoping to exchange and/or return a bra. they were super helpful with allowing me to try it on in a different size, as I shared I had recently lost 50+ pounds and the size I bought online didn't fit, but I needed to know what size to buy in the future. They didn't have the size and color I needed nor was it available online, so I opted to return. I was not nasty or mean as I understand that it's the holidays and things may be sold out. I thanked them repeatedly for their assistance but you would have thought I had swore in church. They immediately stopped being any sort of helpful when they determined I wasn't interested in making a purchase and were rude, abrupt, and stern for the entire rest of my experience processing my return. I work retail and if I couldn't help someone because of something my store didn't carry, I would feel incredibly guilty. It's not MY fault they couldn't help me, not to mention I am a loyal customer who again, spends thousands of dollars at their company every year. I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the entire experience. I will be shopping online or at the Deer Park location instead and I encourage you to do the same. read more

When I moved last week I realized that my workout clothes needed a serious freshen up. I was appalled to see that in my drawer was still this light purple fitted top that I had bought in Connecticut just before arriving in Chicago. 7 freakin' years ago. It was time for an intervention. All the more needed since from now on I was not going to run, lift weights and do yoga confined in the depths of my building gym but out in the open, in a REAL gym, with REAL people besides me (on the treadmills) and in front of me (in the street, for God's sake!) I don't know about you, but even though I think their clothes are super cute, flattering and comfortable, I don't have the finances to go to Lululemon. If their clothes were sucking up cellulite upon wearing, sure, but as far as I know - they are not quite there yet. Enters Aerie F.I.T. - that I discovered in Fitness magazine. A quick trip to the 'burbs today and I came back with a bra, three fitted tops, a pair of yoga pants, a short and a hoodie for the grand total of $150. Everything is really cute, comfortable, and perfectly sized. It makes me a super happy camper! Um, runner. And lifter, yogi, whatever. Great job, Aerie. read more

I recently visited this place and have to admit it wasn't all that. I'm not a big fan of American Eagle clothes so I thought maybe their undies and bra's would be better, they weren't. Not only are the expensive as hell, but I could find better quality bra's and undies at Victoria Secrets for just about the same price! So, if your really into expensive, materialistic brand name things, then this is the place for you! :)~ read more

The lace panties aren't of good quality and have a shockingly short lifespan. The bras are ok and affordable only with coupons and the aerie card. Maidenform bras are cheaper and provide a better fit. The fitness gear is over-priced even on sales. I would recommend instead Hollister's, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike, or Victoria's Secret ones on sales or clearance instead. read more

I have to disagree with the first review - compared to other athletic stores I've been to, there is nothing "expensive" or "materialistic" about Aerie! In fact, last time I was there, they were having a "5 for $15" sale on all of their cotton undies, which definitely beats the "5 for $25" deal frequently touted by Victoria's Secret. Also, having worn many cotton panties from both Aerie and VS, I would say that Aerie is better quality AND cuter! I also love their F.I.T. athletic collection, particularly their shorts, workout tights, pants, and zip-up jackets. (I'd skip the workout tops, personally, and opt for a Lululemon splurge instead.) Last time I was there I purchased some stretchy black workout pants for $40 (full price) and a stretchy but thick zip-up jacket (great for running/walking outside in colder weather) for $30 on sale. These items still feel brand new after all my workouts, and they're GREAT alternatives to Lululemon (you'd pay about $100 per item there). Essentially, go here to check out the panty deals and the F.I.T. line. Skip the everyday clothes, though, as the quality seems average. Oh, and they tie a ribbon around your bag when you check out. And you get to choose from six colors. I'm in girly heaven. read more

It is a really expensive place overall, but if you are looking for some cheaper items they are in the back section of the store marked down a lot. I usually skip everything in the front end of the store because there really are no discounts on it and for better quality clothing i could go somewhere else. read more

This place always has a nice section of organized clearance items in the back. Definitely where I do most of my shopping! I brought in a coupon for a free pair of underwear and bought three more for $10. I must have chosen a pair that wasn't part of the free promotion but the saleslady (I think her name was Sara) did a great job helping me out! I liked aerie when they just opened but the quality has really gone down since then. I guess quality has gone down all across the board with economy and all, but what's a big down is the workers there. They are really pushy and I feel so uncomfortable staying in the store even if I do want to look around. They are constantly bringing me clothes to try on when I just want to take my time to shop. This place is so annoying! When I walked in the store, the retailer went up to me and asked me if "i need any help." I said no and I was just looking around. Then like 2 mins later, a different retailer came up to me and asked if I need help! I said no and I want to be alone. Then I was looking around the store and the retailer ladies are following me and asking me if I need help again. it is so annoying and i want them to leave me alone! No means NO! i will never come back to this place because it is so annoying and asking me the same question. read more

I fell in love with this store when they had a location right by my house (Fox Valley Mall). Since that store closed, I try to make it out to the Woodfield Mall store about once a season to stock up. The store has a great appearance, is always very clean, and the employee's are very friendly and helpful. Immediately when I walk in, I am greeted and told about the current promotion. I circle around the store a couple times, and when I am ready for a fitting room, there is always an employee stationed nearby to assist me. Once I'm trying on clothes, they check up on me a couple of times to see how I am doing. During my most recent visit, they even ordered me a pair of pants & sweatshirt to be delivered to my house for free since they didn't my size in stock! I made my purchase and headed out into the mall, realizing that I had received a better coupon via text. I went back into the store and they we super nice about giving me a price adjustment (I saved about $30 more!). Love, love, LOVE this store, their style, deals, and the fact that they clearly have great management. I can't wait to see what they come out with this winter! read more
