This company racially profiled me just because I was black!…read moreI was attending a Jewish Funeral for the very close relative of my close friend. I was there to show support for one of my very good friends, who happens to be Jewish, during one of the hardest times in his life. I parked and as I was attempting to be there to support my dear friend, I was singled out and stopped on the way in, and interrogated by their guard for an extended period of time! Now matter how much I explained myself, named names, explained who I was and my relation to the people there, he would not believe me! I answered all his questions and then some and I really tried to be cooperative. Still the guard continued to interrogate me for some time and would not let me go. He was of considerable size and to be honest I was quite worried I would be tackled or hurt unless I complied. The threat of violence was definitely felt by me otherwise I would have just walked inside past him. Meanwhile many other people walked right by without any problem. When I asked why he was singling me out, the guard admitted point blank it was because I was black, and everyone else there was white! It finally took other mutual friends of ours attending the funeral to come out and shout at the guard to let me go. Many people came up to me later and were horrified at the way I was singled and treated just because I am black! I'm not the person to allege racism, I grew up in a biracial family, and like to give the benefit of the doubt, but this was outrageous clear racism! A very sad and tragic situation was made far worse due to the unprofessionalism and racial profiling of the staff Houston P&I. I used to be a security guard for over 3 years, and this is not the way to handle security. If they would have asked anyone, they could have vouched for me, I knew almost everyone there. I had even volunteered at the Funeral home to collect their Shamos in the past for a charity. After the funeral I called and ask to speak to management and was given the run around and that "no management was available". As I tried to explain the situation to the call taker I was interrupted and honestly felt ignored. Only later on did the person who answered the phone admit they were the owner and they claimed they would get back to me with some kind of resolution. I waited more than a week before posting this review to see if anyone from the company would respond with a change in policy, or some kind of explanation on how this would be prevented in the future. Honestly all I wanted was an honest admission that a mistake was made and a statement on how they would make sure they didn't mistreat anyone else. After explaining the entire situation and the horrible way I was treated, there was zero follow up! This company is horrible! Racist! Please boycott. Thanks. They have no idea what they are doing and shouldn't be in business.

In this instance I needed deadbolts swapped out and upgraded from the old school manual to newer digital version. The newer version had a larger deadbolt Than the one currently installed on my doors, this the hole had to be re-drilled larger. I was not comfortable doing that. Gary had straight forward pricing and was very easy to schedule. Other places tend to have hidden fees and end up charging you more than originally quoted- so their prices seem cheaper upfront to get your business but ends up being more expensive. After Gary updated two deadbolts to the digital versions the price came out exactly as quoted. He also rekeyed everything on the same key in the event the key is ever needed. The price came out exactly as quoted. Beyond price he is just a super nice guy and clearly an expert in his field. Highly recommend Gary for any of your lock or security needs.
