The staffing agency terminated my assignment after only one week because the company liaison claimed my job performance was poor. This stood in stark contrast to the gaslighting from the company liaison that had initially praised my work. In reality, the company liaison terminated my assignment after learning that I was Black and made it known that he did not want any Black person on the production floor in his department. The contact only saw me as the problem that did not fit into the company culture, and blamed me for the termination. Typical behavior from insensitive people who don't care about others. Words for the wise: Take your time, talent and energy to staffing agencies that do not discriminate against Black Americans or send people to companies that openly discriminate against Black Americans.

Why would I want to pay to go to school for 4 years to get out and make less than I would having only 2 years of experience, and you want minimum 5 years experience to boot?!!? At your rate of pay, whoever got the position you posted on Craigslist.org will still be paying off college fees well into what should have been his/her retirement! Obviously you aren't willing to pay for the experience and/or schooling you think your position deserves- you don't need a degree to answer a phone and input data into a basic template, not to mention a single course at a junior college can teach you how to design the template. I quickly found out my manager was a person with almost three decades of experience, who possesses enormous patience and happy to dispense her wisdon. I found a highly collaborative enviroment where my co-workers freely shared their wisdom and their resources. I had a big learning curve, but I felt supported every step of the way from the Executive Director of the agency down to my fellow Employment Consultants. I found an administration that really encourages its employment consultants to attend trainings, seminars and schooling to become better in the field. This work is important. We help people with development disabilities find work and maintain employment. People with developmental disabilities face significant barriers in obtaining employment, and in this job you get the opportunity to tear down the barriers and in the process change not only the lives of the people you will serve, but your life as well. I can't say enough positive things about this agency. WVS is interested in not just the people it serves, but its employees, as well. I honestly feel that I could not have asked to work with a better, more dedicated group of people. I emailed them and I was given a generic generate response (according to customer support on the phone) and was told to pay the fee again. I have never seen a worse website in my life.
