I went to test on their website and my microhphone was working on my computer and google, but did not work for their website. I was dropped from the call by my proctor and called a no show and now they want me to pay a 25$ fee. I went to call customer support and they told me that it was my fault. Careful, they will not show up and blame you for your computer having a program open, AFTER their system reports that you are good to go. Then they will mark you a no show as soon as your test begins while you wait for a proctor. This is a sleezy company that then charges you $25 to take it again after paying them $65 for NOTIHNG. They will blame you for the problem when you ask why they didn't show up or tell you there is a problem. You can follow their instructions, doesn't matter if they feel like marking you a no show. ALSO, don't show up more than an hour early, they will say that's your fault and you have to pay them $25 for showing up over an hour before the test.... I wrote a proctored online test for a local FD. I followed all instructions carefully but when the proctor logged into my computer he didn't like the look of my room. He asked me to move rooms and said he would be right back. Seconds later he marked my test as a "no-show" I reached out to ntn testing and a day later the told me that there was nothing they could do. If zero stars was an option I would give it. I did a 360 of my remote testing environment. All doors were closed. Nothing that resembled any type of cheating opportunity and my proctor ended my exam less than 2 minutes into the start of a 2hour and 45 minute exam. I have spent hundreds of dollars with this company to ensure professionalism and proper treatment. Absolutely insane that a person in a streaming/ gaming room that was messy has the ability to do that when I verified multiple times of my surrounding areas. The test paid for was a common sense evaluation exam, (WHO WOULD NEED TO CHEAT ON THAT?) support said they submitted a claim and could not tell me what the reason was. I paid this company for every little pre exam and exam to prepare and that's how they stand on business. DO NOT DO A REMOTE EXAM. They clearly get paid to proctor a test and once it starts they don't care. Sad reality is this man is probably going to submit a claim that is falsified and null. I immediately contacted support via telephone and email. All they said is wait one business day. I made no gesture to signify a breach of my integrity. I have passed life insurance exams, and other government regulated proctored exams, completed college degrees, etc.. and to get this prior to answering a question while a video is being displayed at the start of on an exam is clearly WRONG. I would have done anything my proctor said to avoid that it could be a potential chance of me getting mistreated. Simply put, this is beyond UNPROFESSIONAL. He discussed nothing other than leave my phone in the other room (which I certainly made sure to do) I even turned around a photo with writing to ensure nothing would hinder me from completing the exam. Which he mentioned nothing of. So if you think your area can be completely empty then go for it. Absolutely disappointed by the treatment. I immediately contacted support to schedule an in person exam at the testing center 45+ miles away to ensure I can complete this. Just the worst company to deal with. Absolutely Terrible customer service. They go back on their promises as to being able to retest. I've been robbed both times for several hundred dollars of their NTN police exam. They have the most difficult website to navigate and their proctors are rude asf. The proctor was extremely snippy with me would not show her ugly face to the camera and hid behind the sunlight. She then told me to wait as she was with another tester. After I showed her the room I was in. She never returned and let my time run down and then marked me as a no-show to try and force me to re purchase another test customer service refuses to reinstate my test or reimburse my test fees. I spent several hours taking the public safety assessments over and over. to try and test but then they denied me. and tried to make me purchase a new test, it's a SCAM. TOTAL SCAM!! Unfortunately I was scheduled twice and paid likewise for both days consecutively. The system in place negatively dinged me as I was in the process of taking the test when a proctor had to stop the test due to a Firefox pop up. I was told to call the first time and a rep (bill) had told me to submit an email and close out the Firefox application, which had not opened up on my end or on task manager. Bill then states over a replied email that I would need to purchase a new copy (85-90$) to close out my Firefox. I then call in to speak with another rep (Suzy from escalation) and was told to just log out then in so I may begin the test. The prompts and screen states no test is scheduled, so I call in. This does not resolve the issue and with speaking with about two more reps (I logged in an hour early come start of this timeline) and am told that I would not be taking the test today. As of this review, I have spent close to 200$ logging in 5 minutes prior and a whole hour prior. It is a struggle to complete these frontline tests for LE jobs in my state. *edit (12/21/23) - was prepped the next day to retake the test with a credit for the amount needed, but was canceled in the middle of the test. Same deal, was told to email customer service and go from there. - was told in the same day by a rep that another restricted application was why I was terminated from my test. Rep states it was unsure if I could receive a credit again, but recommended I take time to take test in person versus online/at home. I don't understand why there is so many negative reviews but for my experience at Everett, WA location for the CPAT was hands down one of the best experiences. I had to fly in to take the test which added extra stress since failing would be costly. I did not take a practice or anything so I arrived early and told them I was worried about some parts of the course they made sure I felt comfortable after giving me tips and advice. This company is a scam. Stay away! They will charge you the fee. You have to show up prior to the test time to install the Kiosk and go through the prompts to get to the test. I did. I passed everything and hit the retry button to double-check the results. It passed. I waited for the proctor. She came online and said that I had something running in the background. What? She said she could not tell me. Then she canceled the test, and I'm a "No show." She said I can purchase it again with a "Standby fee" of $25. She said she would send a ticket to technical support. I called them. Terrible service. He stated that I had been running 'WhatsApp' in the background minutes before taking the test. Whoa, hold on a minute. I made sure that everything was running fine, and their system told me everything was fine and passed. He could not say anymore from there. I demanded a refund. He said that I could purchase a $25 standby fee to take the test again so I would not have to pay full price. I told him they were running a scam. They will not help you in any way. Yes, they are running a scam and do this frequently from all these online reviews. They cheat, and it's obvious. So, I called my bank, canceled the fee, and got my money back that way. Make sure you do this with a credit card so you can dispute it and get your money back. If government entities are using this service, they need to be wary of these people and the company doing this. I'm an expert in technology and understand the programs they use. They are expecting you not to know it, which most don't, but they won't tell you what's happening except what they tell you and cannot go from there. When I questioned the tech support person, he knew I was getting to the truth, and he refused to answer or help. I asked for a supervisor, who said he did not have one. Bulls***!!! They are attempting to have end-of-the-year bonuses, probably with the collected fees and additional payment. This way, the additional payment of $25 is the bonus, or they keep the initial fee for their bonus and then use the $25 for the company to keep for the original test. Either way, this is illegal, and they need to be investigated. I intend to continue this to their state government to see this through. Don't use these con artists. I highly recommend that everyone here file a report on them to the FTC.gov website. They can do something about it if they keep getting reports on this. However, they do report this to your local law enforcement and other government entities in your state and jurisdiction. You can also report them to the State of Washington Attorney General's Office. Since many of these tests deal with law enforcement, fire, and other government entities, this is important to report this type of business operations to the proper entities. read more

Decent to test at, terrible to work at. I have worked there as a test proctor in the Everett location for 3 years. Regarding testing - Always try to do in person testing if you can. There are a lot of faults with the online test and they will not give you refunds. The physical testing is much better - at least in the Everett location where I worked. All of my coworkers are helpful, encouraging, and good at what they do. Though our customer service is shit, so don't really expect to get any actual help unless you talk to Lizzi in the Everett location. She is the manager and she will go above and beyond for you - if you are respectful of course. Regarding employment - DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. I only received one pay raise ever, when they promoted me to assistant manager - which was only $1 more. My pay rate was $16.75 when I left - $4 below average for this position. I worked 32 hours a week and they said it didn't count as full time. However, I used to be full time, but they took it away from me because "the company is losing money." I lost all my benefits, PTO, and my bank account suffered. Even though the CEO came out a few months prior and said they made $11 million just the last year - and of course, we never got any raises or bonuses or anything from it. You don't get legal undisturbed breaks, and they will gaslight you often to make themselves seem like they're in the right but they are far from it. They even screwed up my taxes, and did nothing to compensate. I owe $1,300 because of them and all I got was a meager apology. Not to mention they secretly keep lists of everything you do wrong and keep it for years. Even if the problem has been fixed. They did it to me, I saw the list. Half the things on it wasn't even true, and the other things I didn't even know were a problem. They never said anything to me about it but expected me to fix it. In short, do not work here. The first time while at the start of my test, it just closed with no warning and said to "Reach out to a proctor" or something along those lines. I reached out and they told me that a browser had opened in my background, thus the test was closed. Then I had to PAY FOR A WHOLE NEW TEST, $60. I scheduled a new test and while waiting for that test to start I stood up, ON CAMERA, waiting for the proctor to come in and talk to me. You could see me on camera, and I was in the chair again at the start time that I specified, the proctor marked me as a "NO SHOW" and I had to pay $25. This company is criminal as far as robbing people of their money and in their practices to just take these overly expensive tests. Let's start off with the fees, $65 and then the hidden extra $25 to download what they call a kiosk. Which you do not see because their site is deceiving. This kiosk app that they say you must pay for and download requires a camera to use it. This is a simple competency test to make sure you don't wear an aluminum foil helmet and eat crayons. All it is, is a simple common knowledge test! They require the camera so a proctor can watch you while you take the test! WTF! A complete stranger gets to watch you in your own home! I say bullshit! I have tested using this program in the past in-person and it has been a fair experience. However, DO NOT TAKE REMOTE TEST. I did everything they said to do to prepare. I even bought another mic because my laptop mic would not work with their program. I was half way through this exam and BOOM, KICKED. Why? They state a program popped up on my computer - even though I enabled "focus assist", which should have prevented things as such. There were system errors on the proctor's end, and as a result I did not get in a was labeled a "no show." After paying $67 for the test I had to pay an additional $25 as a "stand by." This means you have to waste your time each time you reschedule, sign in, wait, and hope they have someone else not show up for there exam so you can take their place. If there are no more slots available each time you reschedule, then you will be waiting forever! They have you waiting over an hour online each time just to tell you there are no more slots available. They are hoping that you give up and stop trying, which means they have $92 of your money without you ever taking the exam. If you're desperate they let you pay another $67 for a new test (after you paid $92 and wasted time as a stand by). Leave this company alone! Oh and by the way, they capture your picture online when you sign/check in, which means they can see if you're Black or white. If you are a Black candidate, you are screwed because white candidates are are a priority and will be placed first in line (especially if you are a stand by.
