It looks like the only way to get a response from these guys is to write a negative review. I posted one before but took it down when Caleb at the Chicago office called me after one week and 15 calls from me. I was told that by the end of the day I would talk to his manager about a job that would be perfect for me, a few miles from my family home. I could have taken over my parents' home after they passed away and remained close to family. I was then asked for a list of references including past supervisors and professors. Well, they are either deceased or in a nursing home. It is not too had to look at my resume and guess my age. I never heard back from them and called 3 different numbers and emailed him. Nothing. Why on Earth would you do this? If I am not a good fit for the role then just tell me instead of getting my hopes up and leaving me hanging. read more

I'll try and avoid a long rant but here it goes... I was looking for a job with my professional background early this year and came across Aerotek. Placing my resume on their website I didn't know until I met with them that they're a job agency. The man who met with me at first was real nice and even though the company that he sent my resume to backed out of having me come in for an interview I was impressed with the effort he put in towards finding opportunities for me. I dealt with with another recruiter later where I ended up being interviewed for a job but the employer decided not to pursue me. A few weeks later another recruiter calls me about a job opportunity where I was literally interviewed the very next day and hired by Aetoek to work for this client. I worked for the client for about a month until they decided to end my assignment. The recruiter promised to call me back the very next day with a client of their's and to match me up with other clients where my background matched. She never called me the next day as promised and when I tried calling her back and also emailing her she never responded back to me. I ended up getting my job back with a former employer of mine. About a month after getting my old job back Aetoek calls me. They call and tell me they liked my resume and want to set me up with a client of their's. It still goes on to this very day but I politely tell them that I'm not interested in any work opportunities at the moment. To break it down, I don't like the fact that my numerous attempts to contact the agency went without being contacted back. I feel also as if my resume was just another resume bounced around to other recruiters only to treated like a person who's new to Aerotek and I've dealt with them for months. They come off as really nice people but in the end I feel as if they only were interested in giving clients boots to fill and once a client is done with you they (Aerotek) is done with you as well. My experience with Aerotek has caused me to not pursue any jobs through a job agency anymore. It's been a rough year searching for jobs and being interviewed for jobs without success and my Aerotek experience was the tipping point for me. If anyone applies for a job though an agency, please do so with caution and don't be surprised when they let you down. read more

No cute funny stories to share about my experience this time. I emailed my resume to one of the recruiters direct and received a prompt call setting up an interview. When I arrived I was surprised to see the varied crop of people waiting to see someone. As I was using I-Go, my first impression was less than impressed since there was a meeting going on which delayed my interview for about 20-30 minutes. Being unemployed doesn't mean my time is not important to me, especially when I am paying for that time. My interview went well, and I didn't anticipate it being an issue to be placed. I followed up with the recruiter several times, including revamping my resume per his suggestion. And then nothing. No call, no email, nothing. The whole thing was an utter waste of time and I can only hope this review makes someone else think twice before attempting to use this firm's 'service'. read more

Here they have a different song and dance then the usual temp firms, they say they only work with motivated people that want to join companies. According to one of their recruiters they place people that will join the company as an employee (vested) within a short / fixed period of contract employment. They never hire anyone for short term assignments that last less than four weeks. What bothered me? Its winter season and while I understand that shoes drag in dirt, salt, etc. Can't they have their lazy ass secretary run over the carpet once or twice a day with a Black and Decker? or one of those carpet cleaners that require no power, it just catches up large debris. Its a pig sty! The secretary is having her own party, salsa music thumping the PC speakers so you hear distortion. She's at least cautious to turn it down as recruiters come and go. Snotty, when you walk in for the first time and she hands you a clip board and states quickly what you have to fill out. Not even a smile or a nod hello?! Do I want these people to place me at a job (you think as you sit and notice the garbage appearance of the room around you) They make you wait the customary twenty minutes, as if, the recruiter is always busy. Your taken to a small crappy room with just enough seats for three people to re-adjust the table and seats cuz' obviously someone didn't pay attention to how many people could really fit in a tiny ass conference room. Two guys walk in, both straight out of university.. you can see the wetness behind the ears. You can tell this by the lack of knowledge they have when trying to ask you questions off a sheet the "employer" they are hiring for has already provided for them. And then the whiney ass response. "I gotta say, you have got an extensive background.. but the position you are applying for asks for 4 years experience and it looks like you have only 3 years.. When a temporary firm, job placement agency is called to place people at a company, in most cases, the company needing the people will want to interview the candidate, especially when the work is specific. If its mundane grunt work, they'll take anyone. So, in the end, even if you have 3 years experience in comparison to 4 years.. if the recruiter is really "for you" and ballsy, he/she would just submit your resume and cross their fingers. Might as well, they make money if you are hired on as a contractor. This company has usually got TONS of job postings on Career-builder. Also the pay varies from the lowest I've found at $10 - $24, even higher for those of you that are highly specialized. While on the Internet they seem to be an awesome company to get in bed with, in person they are unattractive. read more

I LOVE AEROTEK!!!! I worked with several agencies last year while searching for a job and Aerotek was the agency that hit it out of the ballpark!!! Applying for individual positions can be a logistical nightmare as: 1) you send in your resume and qualifications per each employment listing (usually via careerbuilder) 2) you are usually called very quickly and the tone of the recruiter is usually very high-energy and almost feels like a bit too much. 3) If they feel you may be a match for the position you will be asked to email your complete resume ONCE MORE along with a few references. (didn't I already send my resume?) 4) usually you will be asked to meet with the recruiter and once you do the whole process seems very scripted as they will read questions and write down your responses on a worksheet. 5) at this point you are usually told that they are in talks with the employer in question they are looking to set you up with and that they will be in touch. Sometimes you will get an interview the majority of times not owing to their being extremely hung up on a godsend word-for-word match with what the employer seems to be asking for ****************************************************** My main issue with this company is their job site for candidates seeking positions (thingamajob) seems to be very detached from their own internal databases that they seem to utilize on a day-to-day basis. This is evidenced by my always keeping my resume up-to-date yet, when I go into interview, many times I will get comments on how my resume is out-of-date owing to the recruiter having an older copy of the resume. In other words, the thingamajob site and the recruiters' own systems seem to be very out-of-sync and the three recruiters I have so far met with seem very disorganized as a whole. Overall, I have to say that the agency is okay but it all seems like a big song-and-dance to be honest. If you don't think you are a 100% fit for the position you are applying for, my advice is to pass as it is usually a waste of time as they are overly bent on their logo "People Fit Perfectly" read more

I spoke to Mr. Dylan Eagle who was able to find my a job within 24hrs. I went to the interview and was hired a few days later. Dylan Eagle is a highly motivated and professional individual. I sent my resume to two agencies and have not even had the courtesy of a reply. A waste of time.

This was a total waist of time. They advertised a job opening. I called in talked to the recruiter and I specifically asked him if the job was still open and he said "Yes" come on in tomorrow. I came in the next day and sat down at the table with my documents that show I was fully qualified for the position. In that time the recruiter says "The job is filled" Well you could have told me that yesterday when I asked you. Very unprofessional on their part. read more

Aerotek should get negative stars from me. I had no idea how misleading hiring agencies are and calling them was the worst mistake of my life! Never ever trust hiring agencies because they will never tell you the whole truth. People just find a job on your own. Making a deal with these guys or any other agency will eventually lead to a disaster. I found another job on my own and will never EVER use any hiring agency. Hiring agencies only do a great job at making solid smart people who want to work into lousy employees by sending them to sites that are horrible. read more

I would not recommend this place at all. I used the Deerfield office not Rosemont. While they did find me a job pretty quickly(about a month). The rest of my experience was horrible. I only saw my recruiter face to face about 3 times, and the first 2 were my interview and to do paperwork. I saw him one time after that about 2 months later and that was it. I only spoke to him on the phone about every 3-4 months. The place they put me at was awful. Horrible management, poor communication, no leadership at all plus a not so sterling reputation as well made it a bad place to work. I told my recruiter that this place was not for me and if he could find me something else. He was either unwilling or simply didnt care to look for anything else. When I told him that I didnt like it there he simply didnt get it. He always spoke to me like a recruiter trying to put a spin on everything. The place I worked at never offered me a full time position, they offered me a temp position which in fact was illegal. They wanted me to pay my own taxes and tried to make it sound so spectacular. I wasnt buying it. I was let go and my recruiter told me to look elsewhere and that he wouldnt help me. I have friends there right now that absolutely hate it, and the turnover rate at this place is awful. I have seen about 30 people come and go because they cant stand it there. Aerotek only cares about making money off of you, and if you dont like where they place you; you are stuck. You either have to quit and find something else, or they just let you go because they wont hire you on. The pay was sub-standard as well. Not worth it.
