The front office have no idea what they are doing. Very unprofessional. I don't understand how they stay in business.

Don't go here. The provider at this Urgent Care neglected to write out her Medical ID number on the DMV Medical form she filled out for our family member. When our family member went with the form to the DMV, DMV refused to allow them to take their driver's test due to the missing number. When we called Urgent Care, they refused to give the Medical ID number over the phone, because they said the provider didn't 'feel comfortable' doing so. To refuse to provide a medical id number over the phone, after performing medical services and filling out a form is illegal. The person we spoke to on the phone also stated there was a 'miscommunication between the front desk and the provider.' This is not true; in fact the front desk person had highlighted in dayglo yellow every box that needed to be filled out by the medical provider, including their medical id #. The provider simply neglected to fill in the number. We were then told it would take several days or weeks to fix the error using email or we could drive over to the urgent care facility- a 40 minute round trip- since they were still unwilling to give us the medical provider's number. In addition, the provider did not print out a legible version of their name, but only signed it - illegible. Also, the Urgent Care address and phone number stamp they used on the form is incorrect, and the phone contact person we spoke to was unaware of this and disagreed with us, even though we'd just had to find the correct number by researching it on the internet. Again, find a different branch or go to somebody's Minute Clinic. read more

Did not let me know my insurance didn't cover my visit ! Also spelled my name terribly wrong on paperwork after I spelled it out for them .

This facility has gone downhill terribly. The medical care here was once extremely good, but in the past year it has been atrocious. The majority of the office staff are rude and outright ignorant, and very few can barely speak proper English. Not sure why this place is still in business. read more

My employer called yesterday and spoke to the lady on the phone,and set up a 8:00am appointment for today 12-8-2023 for physical.I'm the very first person to arrive,but when I explained why I was there,the receptionist was not only clueless but lied and said no one called her about an appointment.When I asked was her name such and such,she immediately agreed,but then says no one called.I'm appalled at how she sat there and lied,and my employer was appalled as well.So instead of going through a lot of bs,I just left and went to another more caring and compassionate urgent care not 10 minutes away. The bottom line is,it's incumbent not to lie to people,especially when you have no idea who they are or who they may know. It's reasonable to state that I not only not recommend this place but I think the receptionist or nurse or whatever she calls herself needs a job that better fits her qualifications of spending more time tending to her long nails and hair and makeup instead of customers who obviously pay her salary to sit there and lie and do absolutely nothing else. read more

The care from the doctors has always been great. Their billing situation, however, is horrendous and no action from management is ever taken. I received a text on 6/7/23 saying I had a balance of $28 for my copay. I called the same day, paid, and a receipt was emailed to me. Since this payment almost two months ago, I have received statements in the mail and text messages saying I owe a balance of $28. I have called and called and called. They just say "it's our system, it won't go to collections." Yet, I am received notices with FINAL NOTICE BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN over a bill that I paid almost 60 days ago. The manager refuses to do anything, the receptionist is tired of hearing from me. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and contacted Senator Collette's office over this since no one from AFC will apparently fix their billing system. read more

My mom had an allergic reaction from food and was waiting to be seen. We've waited 2 hours for an exam room. When the doctor / PA finally arrived to my mom's exam room. He came in unannounced. He didn't knock nor introduce himself. He was asking my mom questions while I was finishing up my call to translate for her. He decided he couldn't wait 30 seconds and walked out ! He mumbled he has more patients to see and didn't have time for us. Extremely rude and unprofessional! We have walked out to proceed care with another medical facility. AFC urgent care is the worse! Terrible with patient care and Horrible healthcare employees! Stay away! We walked out and drove to an urgent care in Wayne. ( IM) What a difference!! I really wish I read these reviews before taking my 5 year old daughter here. She was extremely sick and it being Sunday morning they were the first urgent care to open. I figured we could go there and be done quickly. I was very wrong. We waited over 2 hours on the waiting room! And there weren't even a lot of other people there. It was very odd. Also, they don't wear masks. What doctors office doesn't wear masks?? Finally, we were taken back to a room. Nurse asked a few questions. Took her temperature and said it was 97. It was over 102 before we got there and I did not give any medicine yet. We, yet again, had to wait a really long time for the doctor to come in. Then I could hear the nurse and doctor talking about us in the hallway! They basically were dismissing my daughter of any illness before coming to see us because she didn't have a fever like I said she did. He came in, asked a few questions, looked at her throat, ears, and eyes. Made it sound like she just had allergies. Then listened to her breath and said she was fine. Gave her the test for rsv, flu, and Covid. Said it would be 48 hours! Who doesn't have a rapid nowadays?! It's now Wednesday and no results! They keep telling me it's pending. This is the weirdest part... I eventually took her to the regular doctor on Monday because he was zero help. Doctor said there was no fluid in her ears (which he said there was) and listened to her breath. Immediately after listening said she has pneumonia! How did the afc doctor not hear that?!? Bottom line, if you truly care about your loved ones do NOT take them here! read more

I had the strangest experience here, straight out of the twilight zone. I brought my infant in for an ear infection. Waiting room was a little dirty, but whatever, we needed to just get in, get an antibiotic and go. We go into the patient room and Dr. Applebaum came in... he introduced himself, then made me and my husband take our masks off. Which was incredibly odd. He wasn't wearing a mask. Introduced himself again like it was Groundhog Day.. twice. Shoved a tongue depressor in my son's mouth so forcefully that he immediately puked everywhere and screamed. Really, the whole experience was so weird. Absolute quackery. The fact that he wouldn't talk to us until we took our masks off was bizarre. I haven't been into any medical offices in the past few years where the Doctor wasn't wearing a mask, and they sure as hell wouldn't push us to take ours off. Never again. read more

I visited this urgent care on a weekend for pain on my right side. The receptionist says "I don't know what we can do about that"; the medical assistant (?) was rude when I told her I didn't have covid as I had just tested myself at home. She stated "I didn't ask you if you had covid" and "are you vaccinated". The nurse practitioner was very kind, very thorough, and when he learned I was a nurse, asked me what antibiotic I prefer for a possible urinary tract infection. I was told to follow up with my PCP in a few days. I actually ended up at the hospital E.R. and was diagnosed with a large ovarian mass and had surgery the following week. I gave this facility 3 stars because the nurse practitioner was the only one who was on his game. The staff were just plain rude!! read more

Just wait and see! After the wait pay attention to how nice the people are and the doctor barely paying attention to what is being said, thorough examination but zero explaination. But it is urgent care meaning they are not your primary Dr. They accept most insurance which is good. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, went there tonight and was robbed of the money in my wallet when I went to the bathroom. The nurse who took my vitals told me to leave my bag in the room while I used the bathroom, I came back and noticed it was zippered (how I didn't leave it). The nurse or someone there took my cash in my wallet. My fault for trusting a medical professional enough to tell me I can leave my purse there while I peed in a cup for them. Don't go here if you want your money to be stolen out of your wallet. read more

I have been going to this AFC for last 4.5 years with family of 5 for every small thing but what happened today is extremely unprofessional and unexpected. As a primary insurance holder, when I visited today that I was told that we can't verify my insurance info, when shown the SAME insurance info via mobile and send via fax was not sufficient for the Latin lady upfront. "Show me it's active or not" she kept saying, I think she doesn't realised that how many time this AFC has charged me in the past (if I have to guess 24 times in the last 4.5 years) - well, when I checked my EOB from last time, they are charging my insurance for flu vaccination which is not even given during a visit. My EOB for my kids sport physical been charged twice $100 where they are only ask to get $40. I will be filling ethics and compliance verification audit on this particular AFC and will make sure they are not overcharging for something we weren't checked or given. No more AFC for me and my family and look forward to hear from auditing team next. read more

My family and I live in Wyncote and pass 4 other Urgent Care centers just to visit this location. I know because I counted the other day, on my way in. In today's society we have forgotten the meaning of kindness to others and customer service. This coming from a young 30-something, old soul, raised in the Midwest where empathy and respect for others was an expectation, not a luxury. When I'm not feeling well I just want someone to be nice to me. And, it doesn't matter when I come in or who I see, the nurses here do it right. Thank you for being that place. read more

I do not recommend going here for STD testing unless you would like to be shamed in the process. I'm very taken aback by how their staff treats patients. Got a call about a COVID-19 test even though that was never requested. Not sure how they mixed up STD testing and COVID testing. The receptionist were okay, the doctor was friendly and helpful. The nurse was AWFUL. I don't know who she was but she was a thin brunette and was very unprofessional. She called me up to the desk to "talk" about what I needed done like she didn't want to do it. She took me back to the room and was fine back there other then questioning me why I was sick and was being weird about it like I had Covid or something. LITERALLY told her my daughter had rsv and wanted to see if I was positive also. Finally, she was letting the doctor know information to the doctor so loud that patients could hear her, if there were any out there! Then questioning me about my kid being in daycare and how old she is?The whole experience was weird. Top it all off, they never called me, I had to call them and I ended of being positive with the same sickness my child has. I figured I didn't have it since they never called and here we are 4 days later finding out I was positive. Not very happy with this experience. The staff working at this place is great! They are helpful, informative and do their best to ease whatever dire situation you might be in. The care is also top notch! Everything that was done during my visit was explained which made me feel really good about the whole situation (as good as you can feel with a laceration in your hand). Short Version: 1.AFC lost my samples from my first test, and conducted the tests improperly, potentially mixing my samples up with someone else's. 2.AFC misdiagnosed me and gave me the incorrect medication for the diagnosis 3.AFC ignored my original concerns and then blamed me for their inability to do their jobs. 4.AFC is trying to force me to be financially responsible for their screw up. 5.I have been advised to complain to the medical board against AFC by other doctors for their lack of professionalism, and potentially putting my life at risk. 6. I have also been advised to seek out legal assistance. There is not enough space here for all that I have to say about AFC Willow Grove. I'm not happy with how they handled things. My family and I live in Jenkintown and pass at least 2 other urgent care or patient firsts along our way JUST to come here. They are attentive, and top notch. Just last evening we were there again because our primary care doctor MISSED strep throat. How could you miss it? Our amazing nurse at AFC Urgent Care, Rachel, saw the signs, did a strep test right away and got the ball rolling on the doctor and medication the instant we got there last night. I can not say enough good things about this place. My whole family comes to Urgent Care! And Rachel, another shout out, you are kind, professional, and just wonderful! read more

When I got there in the morning they did not even open the doors on time. It wasn't until quarter after that they opened which is annoying to me. I work in retail and this would never be allowed. When I was seen by the doctor, she was the most rude person I ever had as a doctor before. She did a test for my symptoms and when the test came out negative for what it could be she basically told me to leave there's nothing wrong with me when clearly there was. I got a second opinion and ended up having strep throat. This place sucks. read more

I usually have terribly experiences at urgent care facilities but this one was the complete opposite. From the initial phone call to make sure they accepted my insurance to the time I received my discharge papers within 45 mins of walking in the door the service and cleanliness of the office was exceptional. The most shocking for me was the office calling me 2 days later to follow up on how I was feeling and if the medication they prescribed was working properly! Efficient, competent, and caring. I went to AFC for the first time this week, and I'll definitely go back for any walk-in clinic needs. I went to see if my finger was broken. There was little wait time, the intake process was streamlined, staff are incredibly friendly and professional, and the facility is immaculate. They took and read my film on-site but also sent it to a radiologist for a second opinion just to be sure, calling me a few hours later with the report confirming the doctor's initial diagnosis. They're patient and thorough. Bonus: I was offered and given the flu shot while waiting on the x-ray. A staff member called me two days later just to check how I was. read more

Went here for severe back pain on a Saturday. The staff was friendly, great doctor, clean environment, and the one thing that totally blew my mind was the follow up phone call the next day! No one does that anymore, even though I missed the call it made the experience that much better. Unfortunately I don't live close to this facility so I will (hopefully) not be returning, but if you need care I highly recommend this place over any other facility. So about a year ago I took My at the time 1yr old here for what I believed was a yeast diaper rash. The doctor decided it was herpes. He lied to me and told me it was diaper rash and that he was going to prescribe a fungal cream and would call it in. Discharge instructions said everything I just said. We went home, I get a call a hr later from Child protected services saying that I need to take my baby to chop to assure the doctor had the right meds. I'm like since when does CPS call about diaper rashes. I tell her I'm on my way to work and that I can't make it today but will take her to her primary tomorrow. She goes on to say she is sending agents to my house and that it's just procedure etc. Now I'm asking her what's really going on? She tells me the doctor diagnosed her with herpes and do I know who could've gave it to her. You can imagine what's going on in my head at this point. I rush her to chop knowing that this is BS and I just want to make sure CPS gets what they needed so they don't take my baby. I get there as soon as the doc sees her rash she said this looks nothing like herpes it's a yeast infection. Still had a open case and was still under investigation until the official results came back 48 hrs later. That case stays open for a year. It was awful I hate that place and will never go there in life. I'm just getting around to writhing this review but this happened last winter. GO TO ST CHRIS URGENT CARE ON OLD YORK RD FOR UR KIDS!!! Update to my 6/21/19 review: it was Ivette who checked me in, made sure my deductible was met, offered my baby a snack and dried her shirt. Rose took care of her in the back with the doc. So sorry, it was my first time so I couldn't remember names but I stopped in today to say hello, since I'm a member of Romp and Roll next door and I realized I had them mixed up. Update: I had left a review on their webpage and the manager contacted me next day. He was very understanding and apologetic and offered that I be seen by someone else no charge. The day after that, I saw nurse practitioner Michael Richards who made the experience much better. He made sure to take a history and listen to all of my concerns. The staff was very accommodating and apologetic when I was there. It was very important to them that this time I leave completely satisfied. I appreciate them caring about my experience at AFC WG and am open to coming again as long as my visit isn't with Dr. Kahn. read more
