I have the greatest respect for Dr. Desai. He has picked up on markers on my skin and he is usually spot on with his diagnoses.

Dr. Kimbrough is very nice. A family member sees her and I was referred. I do know several patients who no longer come here because of the excessive wait time. I've only experienced a very late appointment twice. Parking is plentiful and it's located in a center with other doctors. Front desk staff is very transactional. Not overly friendly whether you're the first or last appointment. Dr. Kimbrough is cordial and thorough, but not as thorough as dermatologists I've seen in other states. I can only hope she's doing a good job. As far as surgeries (mole removals, etc.), suture scars are very noticeable. Family member has an enormous scar because they are not plastic surgeons. I would be caution letting this team remove anything. read more

I have been a patient of this office for a while now but today was the last straw out of their countless mistakes that drove me to write this review. I have had issues with lab sheets being filled out wrong. Prescriptions being called in wrong and being sent to the wrong place. My most recent issue was with attempting to move an appointment due to some lab results being needed and the office giving me a blank form. I was hung up, called back and left a message that was not returned.. I show up to find out that they canceled my appointment even though there were no other openings. The office staff said unfortunately they already filled the spot but then I find out after waiting 45 minutes to get my prescription they they lied and the doctor was not even at the office yet. This used to be a good practice but the staff is so incapable of the simplest of tasks that I will be finding a new doctor and urge you to look elsewhere as well!! read more

Nice dr.'s but they have no idea what a scheduled appointment means. 2nd time I've been told the dr is running on time but have waited over 45 minutes. They make sure you show up early but do not care at all about your time Not coming back. There are lots of other good dermatologists anyone can find read more

My wife and I were also long time patients. Let me start by saying that they emailed/ texted me 4 or five times reminding me not to be late and they also left 3 voicemails reminding me that I wil be charged $50 if I'm not there and on time. We showed up on time and we're told to sign in, after waiting 20 minutes in the lobby I asked the receptionist when I would be seeing the doctor and was told that it was going to be ANOTHER hour or so before I was going to be called back. I obviously explained that this totally unacceptable and left the office as did another patient who had been waiting. It would be nice if they would learn to be as respectful of their patients time as they expect us to be of theirs. read more

I need to preface this by saying that I've been a long-time patient of this practice but for the last several years I've been so frustrated with them. Just to get anyone on phone to make/change or get questions answered the wait time is at least 10-15 min. This is completely unacceptable! I'm over it! Wait times to see the doctors are always long in the waiting room and while in the room. They are ALWAYS running late! One appt there turns into 2 hours. Also, in the past, I have voiced concerns about my aging skin and hair issues and they just seem to blow it off by pushing their products or rogaine. Seriously? How about digging deeper into the possible root cause by doing some blood work/scalp test? I'm over it all and will be switching to a new provider this year. I sent a message asking if you accepted the United Health Care community plan, I was told yes. I call today, and now it's "we only accept it if you've been here for years and are not a new patient". I said ok when will you be? This is apparently a Beaumont affiliated doctor, of which would be required to take Medicaid state programs. So for the people that need help the most and can't afford it, that's a no go.... don't bother. That was a pretty awful way to call and be denied care after getting hope I would finally receive some. I had a great experience here. For my first appointment I was in and out within an hour. Dr.Cardelli addressed all my concern (I hadn't been to a dermatologist in awhile so I had many). Front desk and medical assistant were super polite and sweet. I read the previous reviews before and began to worry that I would be there longer than expected, but I think as long as you have all the paperwork filled out that they email you before hand everything runs smoothly! Arrive 1/2 hour b4 the appointment then witness others being 25 minutes late to their appointment and be called in before me. After 1.5 hours I decided to leave. The receptionists really felt sorry and tried to fix the situation half way through the wait time. read more

My wife and I had a scheduled appointment and when we got there per their request, I called from the parking lot. We were told that the doctor or PA we were supposed to see was off sick. The receptionist claimed they called and left a message, but that wasn't true. Neither my wife or I receiver any call. Affiliated and their staff are far from professional and we will not return. read more

My experience here was completely different than the other reviewer's posted here. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Desai for when I was home visiting family. My mom had seen him and she said I'd really like him. My dad was also a patient of Affiliated back when their office was in Birmingham. I chose to come here because I am temporarily without health insurance and prices for an office visit in the DC area are very expensive. I didn't have a long wait in the waiting room, and Dr. Desai was in the exam room very shortly after I enter. I really liked his demeanor and he explained everything, included what the costs to me would be. After a consultation he said he'd be able to do the procedure that day. It was quick and painless and I didn't need stitches. I can see why my mom likes him so much. I wish we had doctors like Dr. Desai back in DC. Maybe we do, but I have yet to meet one. read more

I wasn't going to write a review for this place (who reviews their dermatologist on Yelp?! lol. I usually stick to restaurants and shopping businesses) but it seems like there hasn't been a new review for a while now. I've been coming here every two weeks for a foot problem. Liquid nitrogen is not the most fun way to spend a morning but it's something that needs to be taken care of, so thus I have been going. (it helps that my BCBS deductible has already been met for the year, too, so at least I'm not paying to have my feet frozen ... at least until January.) The PA I usually see is Dr. Aldridge and she's friendly and personable. The practice has a few PAs and a few MDs. I am always in suite 150, I think it is, downstairs, and they have an upstairs office as well. The closest parking is actually in the back but I usually park in the front, easier access back to Crooks Rd. that way. I've been coming here for a few months now. The only reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars from me is that they usually run late. My appointment today was at 9:20am, I think I was ushered in around 9:35 but Dr. Aldridge didn't see me until 9:55 or so. I think it depends on how busy the day is though, other times I've only waited like ten minutes and then been seen five minutes after that. read more

I will never return to this office again! PA Megan working for Cardelli and Kimbrough charged me significantly more for laser treatment than was listed on the rate sheet. She refused to reduce it to the fee schedule that their office provided. Also, I was asked to return a month later to have her check the growth of a single mole. She took less than 1 minute to check the mole and charged $145 for that. When I complained, the Office Manager would never return my calls. Combining the above with the longest wait times ever experienced, I would strongly recommend finding a more competent dermatologist office that treats their patients fairly. read more

Over the years I have accumulated some sun damage on my face. I asked my dermatologist, Dr. Cardelli, if anything could be done about the brown spots on my forehead and side of my face. She referred me to Chelsea Navarro, in her office, to do some laser work on the spots. I have to say I am thrilled with the results! Chelsea was very skilled at zapping the spots, all the while pleasantly chatting with me to divert my attention from the tiny sparking feeling. She hit many areas on my face, and after two weeks, my skin looks the best it has looked in years. I'm very pleased with the outcome I was seen right on time, and I love the cleanliness of the office and friendliness of the staff. read more

I went a couple years ago for some skin related issues, which is why I felt OK to give them two stars because they fixed what I went in for. However while I was there the PA said we'll cover my acne as well. At the time I didn't feel my acne was severe enough to have to see a derm. She told me to buy differen gel and 10% panoxyl face wash. I used it once and my entire face chemically burned and peeled. My acne since then had never been worse, but I was nervous to go back because they caused it in the first place. Less than a week ago I went to Dr. Gottam in Berkley and my face is already 90% better. I told her what I was told to use from ATD and she told me she 'cringed' when she heard they told me to use 10% Benzoyl peroxide and that my Indian skin couldn't handle that. She started me on a gentle face wash/moisturizer routine with a retinol and I can't tell you how nice it feels to go outside without make up on wondering if people are staring at my bumps and scars! read more

My experience with this practice and in particular Dr. Desai was spectacular!!! I am a Kidney Transplant patient (since 2013 thank God!!) and require yearly total skin surveys because of the anti-rejection (immunosurpressant) drugs I must take. I have had many of these surveys but NONE, NONE as thorough as those performed by Dr. Desai...and I am a retired Nurse Practitioner with 30 years of clinical experience. I would STRONGLY recommend this gentleman to ANYONE I cared about. He is very conscientious, kind, and gracious! I am grateful for his care and the kindness of his staff! read more

I have gone here for many years and refer my family and friends. I see Dr. Desai, although I have also seen several of the other doctors. They are all excellent doctors. If you read any of the peer reviewed publications, you will find that these doctors are some of the best doctors in the metropolitan area. Both the staff and the doctors are personable and professional. Most importantly, the medical care is excellent. I have seen Dr. Desai for many years. He takes the art of medicine very seriously, but not himself. He is as pleasant as he is professional. He takes his time to get to know his patients. Dr. Desai remembers everything I previously told him and uses that information in planning my care. He explains everything he is going to do and then explains what I should do to prevent the same problem from recurring. The visits are actually enjoyable experiences. Great place! read more

Being a patient with melanoma and of several dermatology offices, I'd like think I have a pretty fair scope on treatment and services in the area. Chelsea PA-C, and Dr. Kimbrough provide very caring and attentive service with the care they provide. If you are looking for compassionate and a thorough diagnosis, I suggest coming to this office and making your appointment in advance because they are extremely popular, and for good reason. I am completely confident I made the right choice by coming here for my excision, because they stay on you for coming in to get regular skin checks - which is what I was looking for. Melanoma is a scary diagnosis - but I felt comforted and taken care of even when receiving the news. Thank you ATD!! read more

Do not go here for laser hair removal. I chose to go to my dermatologist's office for laser hair removal on my legs, thinking it would be the safest option. Bad decision. I was burned and had blisters for almost three weeks. I now have hypopigmentation up and down my legs that has been there for months. I asked for a refund of my money over a month ago and am still waiting for a response. A total waste of my time and money but damaged skin for who knows how long. read more

While the staff is friendly, I have waited to see my doctor 45 minutes to an hour after my appointment time on three separate occasions. The latest time in particular, a young woman came into the waiting room about five minutes after me and told reception she had an appointment with the same doctor I was seeing at the same time. After 35 minutes, they take the young woman before me. It was well after an hour from my scheduled appointment time that I finally saw my doctor. As a working professional, this type of service is unacceptable as I had to take so much time out of my day. Friendly staff - God awful wait times. read more

I attended a scheduled consultation at Affiliated Troy Dermatologist regarding laser treatment with Laser Technician Chelsea Navarro. She represented the procedure as safe and effective with the only side effect being some skin redness for a few days. The results of one laser treatment by Chelsea Navarro left my nose scarred and divoted. I am beyond upset and having to spend thousands of dollars for cosmetic surgery that can only partially fix the damage. Instead of apologizing and trying to make things right Doctor Kimbrough denied responsibility over and over saying that the laser could not cause the damage I suffered. When her false statements could no longer be supported Dr. Kimbrough then changed her story saying that my scarring was an improvement. She actually added insult to injury. If you value your looks don't let Affiliated Troy Dermatologist touch you with a laser! Based on my experience money is way more important to Dr. Kimbrough than concern for the patient. The service here has gone downhill the past few years. Patients are rushed through appointments aside from the part where they try to upsell you to elective procedures. The most extensive conversation you get anymore is with regard to billing, and when you have questions regarding symptoms you are experiencing it is not uncommon to get the brushoff. I recently moved to the area and had an appointment with Dr. Desai for a skin check and management of my high skin cancer risk. I am always a little anxious about seeing a new doctor but I was really happy with my experience here. The ladies at the front desk were polite and I was taken back to the exam room within 10 minutes of arriving. Dr. Desai came in less than 10 minutes after the nurse left the exam room. He brought a staff member with him since I had to undress for the exam. His exam was very thorough and he made a detailed note of every single abnormality he found. He was also very friendly, listened attentively to my concerns, didn't use his computer in the exam room, and explained everything he was doing. I was in and out within 30 minutes feeling confident with my health moving forward. I will be going here for my annual exams! read more

Dealing with this office is comparable to a circus sideshow. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. No one knows what day it is. No one will call you back. They all have a different song and dance, excuse after excuse, blaming the one before them. Get it together Troy Derm!!!! Your office has become a circus! After 3 messages left on their "prescription refill voicemail" and 2 requests faxed in by my pharmacy, I FINALLY got a call back 7 days later, by an employee with the wrong file, ratting off someone else's information. All of this nonsense, just to tell me that I cannot have a refill of spironolactone until I come into the office. Would it have been too much to ask, for you to call me and tell me that a week ago when I ran out of my medication and left voicemail #1??? Today, I asked to speak with the PA - Ashley, I was assured that I would get a call back. Shocker! No call back! Got another gal in the office who said she was told to "relay the message". So, I guess I'll be off of my medication until the PA can work me into her very busy schedule and in the meantime, I'll continue to be off of my medication. I've only been on it for 6 years. read more
