The Butcher Shoppe is a staple in Chambersburg, PA. I have been coming here since childhood and I…read morenever fail to marvel at everything that is available. Obviously, you can buy just about any kind of meat you're looking for: beef, chicken, veal, etc., but you can also buy super fresh seafood, deli items, bakery items, hoagies, salads, pre-made meals and much more. The Butcher Shoppe has a partnership with Falafel Shack, a popular restaurant in downtown Chambersburg, so you can find their heat-and-serve individual meals in the refrigerator case. Each and every staff member is helpful and greets you with a smile, from the butchers to the check-out associates and baggers. When asked what to get at The Butcher Shoppe, I often tell folks that everything is good, and it's true. I don't think I've encountered one item in my lifetime of visits that I didn't enjoy. Even though it's gone through a few upgrades over the years, there is always a great sense of nostalgia each and every time I step foot inside the store. The Big Oak Café is great because you can order a variety of drinks and also grab a quick snack or meal while on the go. I can't say enough good things about The Butcher Shoppe. It will forever be a favorite place of mine and a definite stop when I'm in the area.

Denim Coffee in Chambersburg had been on my list to visit ever since it opened. I am just never in…read morethat area. I finally made it there recently when I met up with a friend. When I first entered this version of Denim Coffee, I was struck by how long it was and the lack of windows compared to the Carlisle and Harrisburg locations. As far as the product goes, same great coffee you get from their other locations. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. I liked the latte, it was very smooth and the flavor of the coffee was really good. Denim offers other drinks like smoothies and kombucha but I always go for the coffee and cannot vouch for those. They also have a limited menu and some baked goods. Not a lot of vegan food options, if any, so I've never eaten anything from any of the Denim locations. Price wise, you're paying less for these excellent, locally roasted coffee drinks than you would at corporate coffee shops or the local shops you'd find in larger cities. Any time I'm in the vicinity of a Denim and looking for coffee, I make it a point to stop in.

So we stopped here to get some espresso.. I will say their coffee is better than their neighbors…read more(Cafe Brussels)..but don't get it twisted here. It is thick and syrupy.. exactly how's it's described by the owner..not really the consistency I look for in my espresso. You can taste all the flavor notes..but it's BITTER. The barista was rude..when I asked for almond milk like it was stupid of me to ask..I didn't know my question was offensive? The shop on the inside looks like idk.. scary. The ceiling tiles are janky..the floors are stained and old..the seating area as you can tell from the pictures is nothing to be desired..at all. I couldn't tell you if they have a bathroom or not..I wasn't walking back that area to find out either. It's very inconsistent.., to how the espresso is prepared ( one place has a mod bar..this one actually had an espresso machine), to how they make the shop look. Oh and my favorite...no community support. No local artists, no business cards, no outside advertisement allowed in Denims shops.
