This really is the best breakfast! Coming in from out of town and people recommended this place, but I wasn't sure what to believe until I see it but not only was the service very good but the food was amazing. I wish they had this in my hometown.

Out front on a chilly late March Saturday morning

This was my first visit to Honeybees Restaurant, it having been a well-known hot dog store for many decades. Recently expanded (doubled in size) Honeybee is a nice addition to downtown Gettysburg. I went at 10AM on a sunny Saturday morning in late March when the tourists were in full bloom (ie a plethora of visitors), thus had to wait for approximately 15 minutes to be seated. The were about 8 people standing inside near the entrance when I immediately acknowledged by a staff member who took my name and said that it would be about a 30 minute wait. Every single table was occupied which I like to see in a small downtown business. What impressed me was that despite the hustling due to the amount of customers, every single employee smiled at some point including the college-age servers. (I say that because I am acclimated and conditioned to seeing employees who are resentful that they have employment.) Anyway, I was seated about 4 feet from the front entrance and it was a brisk 33 degrees outside, thus every time someone entered or exited, I received a highly invigorating arctic blast of fresh air. As soon as the previous guests stood up and meandered toward the front door, 2 employees proceeded to wipe off the table and seats which I thought was great except that my bum was subsequently dampened by the still wet seat. My order was taken promptly. I chose the egg white omelet with breakfast potatoes and whole wheat toast. The table had packets of jelley; I recall seeing grape, blackberry, and raspberry. I had to wait about 20 minutes for the order to arrive which was understandable due to every seat being occupied. Our young server, Kaitlin, was sufficiently attentive. My omelet was hot and tasty, and the serving size more than adequate. Kaitlin brought the check which she took to the register. A QR code on the bill option for payment would have been nice. I didn't take many indoor photos because I avoid posting a plethora of people's faces in my reviews if at all possible. Meter parking is available in downtown Gettysburg and please remember to feed the meters as parking violations are rigidly enforced in our historic borough. In summary, I rated Honeybees a 5 star and shall return. Know that they do take reservations and offer take out orders. Do check it out!

Peach French Toast with pecans and pralines was absolutely delicious!

This place is just so cute from the outside and inside. This place was busy and the staff were quickly taking care of everyone. Our food and coffee were delicious! Our server Hanna was awesome, very friendly and made sure she checked back with us multiple times. My wife and I will be going back again while we are in town.

I highly suggest checking out this place for brunch or lunch. I was visiting my grandma over the weekend, and wanted to treat her for a mother's day lunch at a restaurant we have not been to before. I checked out The Honeybee online, and saw reviews about how the food is good, inexpensive, and large portions. Well sure enough these reviews were correct. However, before I get into the food, I want to highlight how amazing their customer service is. Every single person we met here were so sweet, and just lovely to talk to. My grandma has difficulty walking and has to use a walker. Well the restaurant has two steps you have to climb, my grandma was struggling to get up, and I was struggling to help her, carry up her walker, and hold the door. Within 30 seconds, 3 employees, and the owner came rushing over and were incredibly helpful. They were so sweet to us and let us pick any table and immediately treated us with water, and friendly conversation. Now for food, I got the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of sausage links. My grandma got a cheese burger and fries. She told me she never craves burgers but she something about this one stood out to her. She said it was so delicious, and especially loved the bun they used. She was able to take it home, as her burger was massive. My pancake was perfect, and the sausage links were steaming, and a great addition to my pancake. Both of our meals were less than $11 each. I cannot emphasize enough to come check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Great brunch spot in Gettysburg! They have regular and unique options for breakfast/brunch, fresh coffee and great service! Something for everyone. Great spot for families, couples or single diners. The bacon was a standout. Order a side and you'll have enough to share. The French toast is also a wonderful option and they have several to choose from. They have daily specials too! Large portions, great service and great coffee will perk you up for a day of exploring!

We had a very nice breakfast at this little diner. Our waitress Carmella was wonderful! The coffee was good. The eggs and home fries were as good as it gets. Yummy chia pudding, fresh fruit, and incredible bacon. The atmosphere is casual. They also serve lunch.

Eggs scrambled with cheese, sourdough toast, bacon and potatoes! The eggs were so fluffy and soft.

First off, service was dialed in: attentive without hovering, genuinely warm, and paced just right for a relaxed evening. Cocktails ("bespoke") can sometimes feel like an afterthought at places like this, but not here. The La Dulce Vida was excellent--balanced, not overly sweet, and actually worth ordering again (rare). We split the baby beet salad and honestly could've eaten two. Bright, fresh, and one of those dishes that makes you rethink how good something simple can be. Mains: duck à l'orange and steak frites. Both delivered. The duck had that perfect mix of richness and citrus, and the steak was cooked spot-on--though fair warning, it's a serious portion. The frites skip the usual cone presentation, but they're crispy and plentiful, so no real complaints. All in around $200 with tip for two, which felt fair given the quality across the board. This is the kind of place that doesn't try too hard--and gets almost everything right. Would come back.

Our server was outstanding. She came over got our drink order and if we wanted any appetizers which we did not get this time, but let me just say their appetizers are to kill for they are outstanding. As you can see in the photos, the burgers are done right they are nice and juicy and the toppings are just right in the buns are so fresh. It's crazy. So if you're in the Gettysburg Square area, we highly and I mean highly recommend stopping in here for either a burger or one of their other options which are all really good food well prepare prepared.

We were starving but figured the wait must mean the food was worth it and...it was! We chose first available and were seated at the bar in the corner. It was nice because we didn't wait long to be served and we had I nice view of the entire restaurant. A very rustic place that looked as I would imagine it did in 1863. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, fillet, and a baked potato. The salad came with a freshly baked yeast dinner roll. Fillet was cooked to perfection. I ordered the King's Soup which was French onion soup except with large chunks of tender beef in it. My entree was the Spring House Salad which was mixed greens, apples, walnuts, chipped smoked turkey, with herb dressing and it was divine. The sleeper of the meal was the datenut bread with cream cheese that came with my salad. A dark brown molasses bread with dried fruit and nuts. It was so chocked full of nuts and fruit while the dough was the most moist bread I've ever had. I couldn't eat both pieces after the meal so took it in a to go container. I ate it on the drive home and it was still moist and delicious.
