An account was opened in my name without my consent, multiple loans were created fraudulently, and despite providing proof and reporting identity theft, I am still being held responsible for a loan I never authorized, opened, or benefited from. Affirm's response to my complaint was dismissive, vague, and failed to address critical evidence of fraud, including impersonation attempts and fraudulent account activity. Their customer service insisted I was responsible while refusing to provide verifiable proof, and their internal verification process remains completely opaque. I would not recommend Affirm to anyone, and I'm warning anyone who values their financial security: this company does not appear to take identity theft or consumer protection seriously. read more

This morning I was about to buy my ticket and decided to check my purchasing power and said $3000. I went to priceline.com to buy my ticket and used my affirm account, no notification was sent to me that they have declined my transaction on the priceline.com website. This morning while I was scrolling on my bank account I showed priceline.com has changed my checking account $2174 and I went to my email and showed email from affirm that they couldn't approve my loan. The three stars is for Rafael, the supervisor to whom I was transferred after the first agent continually talked over me and raised her voice. If the call was based solely on the first agent, I would score it at a -1000. I called concerning a failed purchase with a company that both Affirm, and the company, show as available for Affirm card payments. The agent became very snippy with me and told me no, you cannot use Affirm to buy groceries, even though the major grocery chain was on their list of stores available for purchase. The store also showed Affirm as an accepted payment method. When I asked her to please stop talking over me and raising her voice, she raised her voice and snipped back that she was not raising her voice. Did I mention that she did not greet me at the beginning of the call, and all I heard was loud noise and chatter in the background? Her tone the entire time was snarky and aggressive, and she possessed zero problem solving or de-escalation skills. I was polite, even when I asked her to please stop raising her voice at me. I then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. She stated that I could not, and to call back and get someone else. I asked, "really? you don't have a single leader that I can speak to?" She again said no. I then stated that I am a call center supervisor (truth), and that this was the worst customer service I had ever experienced (also truth). She then relented and asked me to hold. About five minutes later, she came back and explained that she had a supervisor or the line. The supervisor, Rafael, was calm, and asked me to explain what had happened. Rafael was easy to talk to, and explained why Affirm could not be used at this particular location. He also explained that he would send me an email link that would walk me step-by-step through the process of setting up an Affirm loan without attaching it to a specific retailer, which I received and was able to complete. It's concerning that I had to ask three times to get to someone else to help. The first agent I spoke with should never, ever work in customer service. Imagine if the caller felt too bullied by the agent that they just hung up, or if the caller were elderly or otherwise could not get the agent to listen to them and address their needs. Beware, and be prepared to say "no," and ask for someone higher up the chain if the customer service you receive from Affirm is poor or unhelpful. read more

Affirm has a duplicate charge for the same identical only 1 loan on my account. Despite several recorded conversations, customer services refuses to admit that it's a duplicate exact loan for only 1 payment of services. I have contacted an Attorney. I have reported a dispute to BBB and filed complaints to ALL 3 credit reporting agencies. My attorney has recommended that I contact my local TV news station, for the TV investigative team to do an on- air TV investigative report on Affirm lack of proper oversight in correcting the issue, and Affirm continuing to harass me regrading a duplicate charge/loan with only 1 payment for services. read more

Let me begin with this .. if yelp had zero stars I would assign zero stars to Affirm. @Yelp .Affirm has been extremely difficult to deal with regarding my return from a Dyson Purchase . I purchased the Dyson Humdinger for me to clean my car however it was not as strong as my last Dyson handheld. So I returned it's. My return was received on Dec 31st by Dyson. So, Dyson received the vacuum and I have yet to receive a refund by Affirm on 2/24/24 . On 2/12 I called both dyson and affirm resulting in an email being sent to me from Dyson. This email (attached) was sent to Affirm . Affirm created a dispute that was closed within 24 hours due to the fact that their policy is that refunds can only be made within 60 days . So I've been getting the runaround from Affirm to push me over the deadline!! According to Dyson today it should only take 7-10 business days to process the credit. Today ,2/24/24 Despite calling each week to resolve the credit to my account even getting Both supervisors from Dyson and Affirm on the line together today . Affirm is stating it will take another 3-5 business days . There is no way to escalate this concern of their consumer . Leaving me at the hands of a call center overseas . I have emphatically asked Dyson to reconsider working with Affirm as it results in poor business's practices that Dyson usually provides . I asked the supervisor today Carmen to escalate this issue internally so that they can reconsider working with Affirm . At the very least have a firm discussion between the two parties. I most likely will not use affirm for further purchases due to the lack of proper customer care and concern for their clients . Which might I add pay for their service ! Well folks, have I got a story to tell you. To be 100% fair and objective, I almost gave Affirm 2 stars because before this incident I actually had good experiences.. But this has been insane for me so I couldn't even bring myself to do it. Here's the story.. Around Xmas time I got a random text message saying that my affirm purchase was finalized and set up for a payment agreement. INSTANTLY I checked my app to verify and sure enough there was a contract set up for a pelvic cooling pillow through ticktock marketplace. I changed all of my passwords, contacted customer care and reported it as fraudulent activity the same day. Provided screenshots of the account and purchase. This thing was like $150 btw. Explained that I never ordered the item or received item. They told me that they would do an investigation and get back to me. A couple weeks and a payment later they emailed me saying that after reviewing the "evidence"they determined that the purchase was legitimate. I replied asking what evidence they used to determine this judgement. They gave me nothing and just "reassured me" that the conclusion had been reached. I called customer care still pretty optimistic I might get better service and i did. Talked to a great agent and was told I need contact ticktock and figure it out. Was told to provide screenshots shots or receipts from ticktock. Ok. fine. I called tick tock. Talked to an agent who verified that my email address nor physical address were associated with any tick purchases. Period. Sent me screenshots of my account and verified that there were no duplicate accounts with my email. I sent 6 supporting documents to Affirm to verify this stuff. They once again told me they'd reopen the case and investigate it over 2-3 weeks. Meanwhile I'm still making these payments. About 3 in at this point. 6 documents proving my tick tock had never been used to buy anything. Ever. They said that they determined the purchase was legitimate. I again asked them to provide me with evidence explaining how they came to this conclusion.. They stopped replying. I'm still making payments. Now I'm here to say they obviously don't care about these fraud cases and I would watch your info there. read more

Since I am all for using other people's money, I have used similar offerings in the past to purchase large items and pay them off without triggering any interest so I figured, why not now so I selected affirm, went through the approval process with the outcome being that I qualified for a $15k "purchasing power" and so I proceeded to the checkout where SURPRISE!! the proposed monthly payments now reflected a substantial interest attached to them????? I went to the account created and then I learned that my "purchasing power" was reduced to $2k which is what one would expect a teenager with little credit history to receive. so, I called affirm, and closed the account, and they could go take a hike for all I care. I just don't appreciate bait-n-switch tactics at all. Approved for loan from affirm for 3700 for flights. Booked tickets, gave affirm 900 dollars for a 3300 hundred dollar loan. Merchant calls and said tickets cost additional 600 on top of my affirm loan I already paid for. Or I can cancel for a few paid to the merchant. Affirm did finally close account and refunded my 900 we couldn't afford another 600 out of pocket. So affirm sides with merchant and cancel s credit approval. On December 9th 2023 I ordered an HP laptop from amazon. Between December 12th and December 18th FedEx Ground made a number of entries in the tracking history that were completely dishonest not accurate flat out flying. The FedEx Ground driver on December 12th through the 16th Federal Express made one excuse after the other updating the tracking history with incorrect dishonest information. On Saturday December 16th the driver said that they came out and made a delivery attempt which was a complete lie and called a residence of business and they never made a delivery attempt. On December 18th around 10:00 a.m. the FedEx Ground delivery driver updated the tracking history for the last time stating my laptop was delivered and signed for by me! This was a blatant lie. I called FedEx immediately and reported the driver because the driver forged my signature as H.Homeowner. a FedEx manager named Dominic and I believe in internal Security employee named Joe did an internal investigation and they're findings concluded that their driver did Forge my signature and the driver failed to deliver my laptop. The laptop cost $1,060 plus tax and interest and because Federal Express was at fault I pursued them for weeks to replace this and they kept telling me to go back to amazon. I probably made a hundred phone calls between Amazon and FedEx . I also reported this to Affirm. They kept telling me to go back to Amazon ! This was a complete Nightmare and on top of all the other stress I was dealing with I ended up having a heart event a heart attack in April and spent two weeks in the hospital and this literally took me out of my life for a few months. In June I was able to finally reach Amazon corporate office and at least they gave me a gift card the amount of the laptop in the hopes that I could maybe purchase another one. I have presented Affirm with the supporting documentation from Amazon showing that I did not receive the laptop and the FedEx tracking history with the forged signature from the delivery driver and they are now threatening to ruin my credit and report me to all three credit bureaus and if they do this it will make it next to impossible for me to get an equity loan in a couple of months which I am eligible for as I have no mortgage and this will take my credit score bottom line is as of August 26th 2024 after multiple phone calls and uploading the supporting documentation over and over to Affirm, Affirm still expects me to make payments on a computer I never received and if I don't they are going to ruin my relationship with them so I may never borrow again from them and ruin my reputation with all three credit bureaus. This is a nightmare . Why do I have to pay for something that I do not have and never received ? Thanks a lot Federal Express because at this point after 8 months of 100 phone calls to all three entities I'm going to have to sue Federal Express and at the very least Affirm for the combined failed delivery forged signature and forcing me to pay for this laptop that was never delivered by their driver who stole it towards my signature and by the way I've got him on YouTube I made a video of him admitting that he forged my signature and failed to deliver my computer ! Federal Express did an internal investigation that proved all of this and here's the crazy part they're tracking history is not telling the truth they're still trying to say in the tracking history that the computer was delivered and when I asked Federal Express why they won't update the tracking history with the truth they said that the internal notes on Amazon's shipper account does reflect the truth that the FedEx driver failed to deliver the computer and he forged my signature and I never received the laptop. I don't understand this because quite frankly the tracking history should be transparent and should say the truth and the same thing so that anyone who looks at the tracking history see the same information. So we're all on the same page. I should not have to pay for something I don't have . At least Amazon after 8 long months of their customer service giving me the runaround finally did one good thing for all my time and pain and suffering and loss and stress and gave me a gift card to buy another computer. And I actually did try to buy another HP computer from a different seller and the seller made another mistake sent the wrong laptop so I sent it back and gave up on trying to buy any kind of computer from amazon. I used my gift card for other things that I needed . I have still tried to communicate with affirm multiple times over the last 8 months and it was their instruction that I stopped paying this payment for this loan as I never received the item and now they're threatening to ruin my life. I purchased an airline ticket through this company and they never purchased the ticket from the airlines but charged me for half of the fair! They also set up my payment plan on the app.When it came time to fly. I had no ticket, and had to pay for my ticket $297.00 in full the day of traveling. Never again. When I contacted Affrim they told me it was Southwest fault when I put the Southwest representative on the phone, then the Affirm representative admitted that it was Affirms fault. My case was closed by Affirm help center without any explaination what action had Affirm been taken even I had forward proof from Vendor they already credited my return back in February!!! Affirm kept saying it's over 60 days and they do not see the credit. The transaction was between Affirm and the vendor, so if the vendor had forward confirmation refund already being credited; isn't it up to Affirm to take action to clear my loan instead of they keep sending me reminder that I still have payments to make for the loan along with overdue alerts!
