We just recently moved and I have to say everyone is extremely nice and professional to work with. The 4 men moving us were very attentive to our requests and handled everything like they owned it themselves. The trucks are clean but old. The men moving us were clean but not in uniforms nor did they have name tags identifying themselves. I was not happy regarding the quote we received which was $1300 and the ending bill was $2337. That is an extreme difference. Not only that but because the job was mistakenly estimated poorly they were not able to finish our move on the start date. If we would have had to move out as pre-determined by a house closing which was supposed to be at 7 pm on the day we moved, we would not have made it. They had to come back the next day late in the afternoon and bring another load. This made me extremely uncomfortable because they wanted to take out truck which still had our belongings in it to another location. After, negotiating this, they left the truck at our home. We were then told we could not pay with a credit card and were asked to pay cash or check. They said they would charge me for the 3% credit card fee. Well, this is an illegal practice according to all credit card purchases. They stated it was written into the small print on our quote. When we looked at the quote, it wasn't listed anywhere that they did not take credit cards for payment. Then they tried to tell us it was verbally stated and I can assure you that if it was, I would not have hired them. I felt like we were told one thing and then charged another. I did add one pick up address that was mentioned early on in our negotiating and was prepared to pay the difference for the added pick up but it wasn't $1000 difference. They did a poor job estimating the job and the final bill was extremely higher than I was planning on. This is a huge upset when you are moving and then told you will have to pay cash! I am also not sure what their insurance is like if we would have had damages. I wouldn't suggest that you don't hire them, but I would be absolutely certain you don't get up charged. Totally unreliable. Don't use this company. They told me the time they'd be there. Didn't show. Called me 3.5 hours later and said they were on their way. An hour and a half later, still no show. Wasted my day, didn't do the work they were hired to do, lied to me about when they'd be there. I'll never do business with them again. BEWARE! read more

They didn't show up. If only I could give less than one star.....I agree with Kevin S.'s review. Called week before move to set up time, called again morning of agreed upon day to confirm and Clarence assured me they would be there. After waiting 30 minutes beyond time they were supposed to show up, called and spoke with Clarence again. He claimed it was his mistake, would get things set up right away and promised to call me back. Never did hear from him. Crickets chirping. Didn't even have the guts to call me back to say they wouldn't be showing up. Use these guys at your own risk. They didn't show up. Enough said. read more

Do not use Affordable Action Moving Services!!!! They will lie to you! They will confirm your moving appointment, and then they will BLOW YOU OFF. Moving is difficult enough without being treated with so little respect and caring. I made a reservation with the company well in advance of my move (2 weeks), the date and time were confirmed 5 days prior to the move. The very next day they called to say they couldn't move me on the day and time reserved, but they could move the next day, on Sunday! I couldn't believe it! She said they could move me on Friday instead, like I should be able to miss a day of work to accommodate them hanging me out to dry. And the woman I spoke with did not even seem to think that should be a problem for me. I was extremely upset, who was I going to get to move me at this late date in the summer, when everyone is moving. She acted like I was being unreasonable because I wanted to talk with the manager, and because I was very angry about this. She called back and told me, in a haughty tone, that they would not work with me because I had been so upset, and yelled at her, they did not want to accommodate someone like me! read more

These guys were great , right on time handled our property as if it were theirs. Very efficient loading and unloading all in short time. We had 3 estimates and they did the same job for a third of the cost. One thing they can do better is some sort of confirmation of job. Talked to the owner like 3 weeks ago, had no idea if they were still coming on the day we talked about till they did show up. Would use them again! read more

Clarence and his "crew" were incredibly nice and easy to work with. We have always moved with the larger companies and have never used local companies before. We were extremely pleased with how "personal" this experience was and how "easy" they made what could have been a chaotic move. We would HIGHLY recommend them! Clarence is a great guy. His movers were all polite and worked very hard. I would rate them higher had Clarence bid me more accurately! When he came out he told me that I didn't have that much for the size of my home which was a home of almost 3000 sq. ft. I questioned him on that. He told me "Don't worry we will take good care of you." He said it would be around $800.00 to move me approximately 4 miles. Well...my FIRM SUGGESTION is get it in writing as the final bill was $2480.00. I about fell off of my chair. When I told him I would have to put it on the credit card he increased the price by another $75.00 I told him that he never told me he didn't take credit cards and finely compromised with him splitting the fee with me. Again, polite, hardworking but dont' take Clarences' word..get it in writing and don't let him talk you around the block!
