I contacted the owner right away and he said he would put in an insurance claim. After he checked in a few times there has been zero contact about the claim. I have also left a review before and the owner called me asking me to take down that review and he will get it taken care of. I have called many times with no answer and left voicemails with no response back. It is now June of 2026. Do not use this company, if they break something they will leave you high and dry. Jim. It's been 6 months. Not 6 weeks. Go look at a calendar. We moved November 15, 2025. It is now June 11,2026. You refuse to answer my phone calls now. We just bought a house and I would have rehired you to help us move again on Monday if you would have just answered and dealt with this like a professional. We will be reporting you to the BBB. This incident has been documented and reported. EDIT 2: I found out they do business as "Fantastic Movers" as well. I am not happy with the service I received. I hired Moving Helper for a local move and was quoted approximately 8 hours. The final time was more than 11 hours, significantly increasing the cost. During the move: * Multiple fragile items were broken (including several glasses). * Boxes were stacked five high, resulting in a clearly labeled fragile box falling from the top. * Mattress covers were not used. * In 11 hours they didn't finish moving everything from my house (including a TV). * The crew took frequent breaks and asked me to move items myself. * Professional conduct was lacking (loud music and excessive cursing inside the home). When I contacted the owner Jim to address these issues, the response was defensive. I was told the damages were due to how I packed items. He also stated that a refund would have been offered if I were not already receiving a "discounted rate," although the rate charged was the rate quoted upfront. Moving is already stressful, and the lack of care and professionalism -- both during the move and afterward -- made the experience more difficult than it needed to be. I would encourage others to carefully consider their options before booking.

The trucks are clean but old. The men moving us were clean but not in uniforms nor did they have name tags identifying themselves. I was not happy regarding the quote we received which was $1300 and the ending bill was $2337. That is an extreme difference. Not only that but because the job was mistakenly estimated poorly they were not able to finish our move on the start date. If we would have had to move out as pre-determined by a house closing which was supposed to be at 7 pm on the day we moved, we would not have made it. They had to come back the next day late in the afternoon and bring another load. This made me extremely uncomfortable because they wanted to take out truck which still had our belongings in it to another location. After, negotiating this, they left the truck at our home. We were then told we could not pay with a credit card and were asked to pay cash or check. They said they would charge me for the 3% credit card fee. Well, this is an illegal practice according to all credit card purchases. They stated it was written into the small print on our quote. When we looked at the quote, it wasn't listed anywhere that they did not take credit cards for payment. Then they tried to tell us it was verbally stated and I can assure you that if it was, I would not have hired them. I felt like we were told one thing and then charged another. I did add one pick up address that was mentioned early on in our negotiating and was prepared to pay the difference for the added pick up but it wasn't $1000 difference. They did a poor job estimating the job and the final bill was extremely higher than I was planning on. This is a huge upset when you are moving and then told you will have to pay cash! I am also not sure what their insurance is like if we would have had damages. I wouldn't suggest that you don't hire them, but I would be absolutely certain you don't get up charged.
