When Austin arrived for the furnace inspection and cleaning, we shared pictures that had been taken of a rusting base, collar and cap that needs to be replaced. We asked Austin to get measurements so we could order the new equipment through his company (as advised by our roofing company), but he would not. He told us it was the roofer's job. We showed him another picture of the rusted exhaust pipe in the attic, but still he refused to go up and check it, stating the he could tell it was leaking from the roof and that it wasn't condensation. In addition, instead of replacing the furnace filter, he told us it was good enough and WE should replace it in one month. The drain line was filthy and corroded and WE had to bring it up to him. He begrudgingly said he might have a line in his vehicle, but if he didn't, WE could get one ourselves. He did have one, but cut it so short, it barely reaches the drain. And he left the old one laying on the floor in the basement! Finally, when preparing our bill, he said "That'll be $139." What?! Over the phone, Jeff had told us it was $89. He laughed and said he wasn't sure what Jeff had quoted. Again, WHAT? No communication between employees? In the end, we paid $89 and really got NOTHING since we had to call another furnace cleaner who said he would gladly go up on the roof and take measurements, as well as include a new furnace filter - all for less than Affordable Comfort KC.
