PATIENTS BEWARE! Today, when inquiring about insurance and billing, the insurance manager was down right rude. She failed to carefully listen and respond and instead was defensive, talking over me and then hung up on me. I caution all new and existing patients to read the fine print on your treatment plan recommendations before signing and getting treatments. They claim to "check insurance before an appointment" however upon arrival and making treatment plan recommendations they fail to tell you it's quite the contrary. (read the fine print). Why tell a patient "we checked your insurance and it is covered" and then share treatment recommendations that are not covered by your insurance? My 70 year old husband had fluoride added to his treatment plan (totally unnecessary) and it was NOT covered. We were duped by what they said and also what they chose not to share. Those sneaky little charges add up here and there and before you know it you are paying a couple hundred dollars, if not more. Shameful! I would never recommend this practice to anyone!

The staff are friendly, the schedule managed well with appointments on time, and in the rare case when I had an emergency with a veneer they were incredibly responsive in getting me in quickly. So badly my first visit here Dr. Dinh was kind enough to write me a prescription for 1 valium pill my first visit. After the first official visit, getting work done, seeing how kind, gentle and caring they are the anxiety all but disappeared. Emily the dental hygienist is absolutely amazing as well. I have no complaints about the work, the crowns are perfect along with all the other work they have done over the past year. I highly recommend them. Will never go to another dentist again as long as they are here.

Unfortunately, I left feeling like my concerns were not addressed and that I received no meaningful relief whatsoever. Based on my experience, I felt the care I received was unprofessional and lacking. The staff did not provide me with a treatment plan that helped resolve my immediate problem, and I left in the same condition I arrived in--still in significant pain and with no confidence that my infection was being properly managed. I understand that not every dental problem can be fixed in a single visit, but I expected compassion, effective treatment, and clear communication. Sadly, my experience fell well short of those expectations. I cannot recommend this practice based on the care I received.

After a few hours of thought and checking with others that do extractions, I realized I was being charged 4 to 5 times the standard cost. I immediately called to cancel the loan, within 2 - 3 hours of signing, and today, 2 months later, my refund has not been received although many excuses have been made by Estero Smiles, including 'we sent the check to wrong address', and will resend. Excuses continue each time I call them. That was 7 weeks ago and although they promised to resend the check, it is still not here. The loan company is demanding payment for something I never received. Hope Estero Smiles is enjoying my $4,877. By the way, both extractions were done for under $1000.

About 30 min before the time I had to show up, I get a call saying some excuse about "we were having trouble with our portal and we found out that we actually are not in your hmo network." Said front desk lady cont....but we do have a 39.99 flat(if you pay w dc or cash) fee special." Again, cool. Great. So I show up on time...get called in. I let the lady know that im going off their special rate. She then comes back telling me..."thats fine but if you want your dental x rays released to another dental office...that will be an expensive fee." ... Folks reading this ...do you see a pattern here? They hide information from you! They are taking money from underneath you! Went to Dr. Bachmann and she was no pressure and said the moderate Invisalign package would do what I wanted, which was also less costly. She did a great job and my teeth came out perfect. I am no longer afraid to smile and wonder how many dates I would have gotten if I had Invisalign done when I was young!

My assumption that the patient should be informed by the dentist of their business practices and provided with the option to refuse treatment that would not be covered was obviously wrong on my part! I would not recommend anyone to use Estero Dental Care based on my own experience.
