I had many issues at 5 stars dentists in the past years including heart issues due to Epinephrine high dosage, as well as billing issues. I have now anxiety to go to the dentist due to previous health incidents. I explained my situation and also requested an emergency appointment due to an issue with my gum. They immediately provided assistance and an appointment for the same afternoon! The dentist was explaining everything carefully. The hygienist Juan was excellent and very patient knowing my previous issues, he injected the minimum to numb the area and was really careful to ensure I could take breathes, monitoring my blood pressure and more. The deep cleaning has been perfect and very professionally. I understand the price is a bit up because I didn't maintain for a bit of time and it will be a normal cleaning going forward. I read the reviews on Yelp and they are mixed often due to the price or mask required, but I wanted to make my own experience as the 500+ reviews on Google are amazing. My wife had a tooth extracted and was told she needs to take antibiotics and they would fax the prescription to the pharmacy right away. Two hours later, Thursday around noon I called them. We will fax it now, three hours later I called again. Same answer. Next day 9 AM I called again sorry will send it I confirmed all the information of the pharmacy with them. 3 PM still Nothing, I asked for the manager to call me. Today Saturday they closed but I called their service to cancel my appointment, I am going back to Fantastic art dental, they are smaller but reliable. I do not recommend this place at all. They will tell you they work closely with your insurance when in reality they don't check your treatment in full, and after a year, they will come back to you with a large bill you've never authorized. After I wrote a negative review, they wrote me back saying they wanted to work with me, but they do nothing only send your bill to collections. I'm going to have to agree with some of the low star reviewers. I went here because of a special I received in the mail. Turns out I needed about $5,000 worth of services none of which was covered by my insurance. For the cleaning portion of this I was told I could get a quarter of my mouth cleaned if I didn't want to pay for this all at once. Really??? Plus I could apply for Care Credit for this and the remaining services. Ridiculous! Never heard of such a thing. Got a second opinion and sure enough I only need a fraction of the services and all of it was covered by my insurance company. When I requested my X Rays to be sent to the new dentist they acted like they didn't have them and I wasn't in their system. This place is a total scam! read more

Never a fan of this dental office, was only going because of location convenience. Here are a few negatives about this place... 1) They force extra procedures on you to get you to pay on top of what basic dental insurance covers. I have great insurance but they don't cover cancer screenings and fluoride treatments EVERY time you go. And EVERY time you go to this dentist office, they will drive you absolutely crazy trying to get you to give in and get fluoride or unnecessary screenings. And if you have kids? The fluoride omg the fluoride aye dios mio the fluoride SMH. They are extremely pushy, almost to an extent I believe the dental hygienist/ assistant are receiving commission if they sell these services. After reading others reviews I believe this is their SCAM to get more money out of you each time you go for a simple cleaning. This is obviously a serious problem with this business. 2) In Feb of 22 they are still requiring masks for you to sit in an empty waiting room, just to take it off as soon as you get into the room. Not a deal killer, and I don't mind wearing a mask if in situations where it will help or make a difference, but this is pretty much the same as wearing a mask while walking to your table at a restaurant and then taking it off when you sit down. Again, not a deal killer, but worth mentioning as other medical offices I have visited are no longer requiring masks. 3) And the final strike came today when after rushing home from work just to get my kid and rushing back out to the dentist, we showed up for our SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT and they told us that we no longer have an appointment because we did not text or call them back after they sent us REMINDERS of the appointment. Never did the calls or texts say we would lose our appointment, only to CALL IF WE NEED TO CANCEL. (I have a screenshot I will share. If someone reads it differently, feel free to point it out)And since we are adults and show up to our appointments that we schedule, we had no need to call them. When I arrived, the receptionist said that I would have to reschedule because we didn't answer our phone or call them back to confirm. These calls were on Saturday and Sunday mind you, and with 90% of calls being Spam nowadays, we don't pick up unless we personally know who is calling. So I "canceled" all future appointments for my family and we will be finding a dentist that respects our wishes, keeps our appointments like adults, and isn't infuriatingly irritating with their pushing of additional services that they say are covered, only to bill you a few weeks later. The hygienist comes into take my blood pressure and starts telling me all the things (CANCER SCREENING omg) they're going to do in my mouth and my co-pay will be $91.... WHAT! We just moved to Florida and wanted to find a good Dentist that could be our permanent dentist. Well we lucked out this group is wonderful and caring . My husband had to go get four teeth pulled. He ran into some bleeding and complications. Bellaire Bay stepped up when the other Doctor couldn't be bothered. They helped correct the bleeding and let us know that if we needed them to just call. An opening was available the following day. Dr. Villarreal was very educational and honest. He provided me with the best recommendation as far as treatment needed. First and foremost, I would like to say that I couldn't have been more clear and concise about my plan of action. Truly, I would have to say that my upfront honesty didn't matter at all. Believe me when I tell you that it's all related to Dr. Villarreal's Juggling. See my plan included a benefice for everyone. For me I was to decide if traveling or If visiting him would be less expensive. I did this by calculating travel time, walking into their office and asking if they would be kind enough to verify my dental insurance before an appointment. Truly, a dental cleaning wasn't urgent. Although my molar repair was, If a written bill estimate would have been provided to me before my procedure I wouldn't walked away very politely; Honestly, I did ask about the cost" How much is the TOTAL cost?" I was told around $1,300. So I said" Not too bad, but I wouldn't be willing to pay an Amount anymore than this; but, the truth is that.... this was just one of their " magic tricks," the total amount for just the crown ended up being $1,800 and I wasn't told this until after the procedure. As one can soon see what I mean about disclosure juggling. Not only didn't I get a bill estimate disclosure for my dental cleaning, I only received my crown bill estimate after my procedure ( see my receipt stapled to the right upper corner of this paper=after and not before) and it was for an amount for $500 more than what I was quoted. sadly, the worst is yet to come. For one, I have to drink regular temperature water, and if I try and satisfied my craving for a nice warm soup- I shall expect pain. A sharp shooting pain at this exact crown location that radiates even until my whole entire right cheek area, even after avoiding solid food chewing on my right (crown side) sense day one. And for those impressed with his tv and cable, have you really asked your self if this is just for the clients or does he benefit from it as well? Now, I would like to ask what I need to do next. Maybe one collection in a life time isn't so bad, but what I would really like is to one day un-juggle his routine and show proof of his ill intension way. I have had a mix of experiences here. Initial experience was fine. However, I called this morning to report a chipped tooth and discomfort (in an area where they are doing an implant), to which the reply was that they have no record of my existence. Mind you that over the past year i have already spent many thousands of dollars with them for this implant procedure including: 1) Extraction, 2) Bone (grafting) to increase thickness, 3) Stem implant placement, and most recently 4) the "3D-imaging" for the final implant tooth. They had no problem finding me in their system when they asked for the payment three weeks ago at their office. Their response is to my call this morning was tell me to wait until Monday and they will call me back and try to find me. I have had excellent teeth my whole life with only 8 ever cavities. I really need just my teeth cleaned. They scheduled me an appointment. I'm fixed income and no dental insurance. I was told I needed a whole full price dental exam etc or I couldn't get my teeth cleaned. In this time of Covid money is scarce and teeth are important to health. As is mine I was quoted over 275$. Terrible, terrible... I went to theses people in person and asked them to verify my dental insurance before I come in... ( I told them my Insurance covers two dental cleanings a year), this would be the first this year. The day of my appointment I am told " we did verify and you are covered for..... So why are they now me $254 for a cleaning, I have not paid $254 ever for a cleaning, not even combined in the last 8 years when I didn't have dental insurance. I use Groupon and get it done. From the initial encounter to the end the service and attention was great. I work in the in the industry of providing medical services and I understand how some patients can judgemental and complain about insurance not being to cover certain services that we do not have any control of. Maybe the should get better insurance coverage. They were friendly, professional, and took the time to explain what they were doing and why and recommendations. They discussed my visit in detail and presented a plan of care and how they could work with me and I did not feel pressured or rushed. For those clients who complain about why their health insurance does not cover certain things, those patients should have done their homework. I felt that they were thorough and explained options and what I needed to do to have a healthy oral cavity. So for those patients that complain about there insurance not covering certain services that is YOUR dental insurance problem not the clinic. Do your homework and find out what is and what is not covered and do your part to keep your teeth, gums, and oral cavity in general healthy. I will definetly continue to follow-up with this facility and take into consideration their recommendations. Again, my initial impression has been positive so I hope that it continues that way.
