it's only about money here. charge for unnecessary services that insurance doesn't cover except…read moreevery 5 years then has the audacity to tell me to argue with my insurance company. crazy crap.

I debated posting this, but I think my opinion is valid and needs to be shared. Let me first say,…read moreI'd been a dental patient here since 2018 (I believe the office opened in 2017), and since that time I made several referrals and even started bringing my wife and kids there. I really liked them, and we've never previously had any problems, however all of that changed in the last year. The atmosphere is different and there has been a lot of turnover. I recently had a problem with a crown that fell off twice. Both times, it took over a month to get an appointment to have it reattached. I actually called on June 19th and wasn't able to be seen until July 21, a month later. The last straw for me was after the last appointment. Two of their dentists said the crown needed to be replaced. (One of them is no longer there and I believe worked their less than 90 days, he was the one that said he'd put in my chart if the crown fell off again, they would replace it) During the last visit after if fell off again, the second dentist reattached it and said it was temporary repair. There was no charge for either visit to reattach it, but I was told they would file a claim and if I received a check from my insurance company, I needed to bring it to them. One of the other office workers said they would talk to their manager to see what could be done and that they would call me a week later. I actually called them 6 days after the appointment only to have the person on the phone tell me she had no record of anything that was said or done previously. I recognized her on the phone and told her that she was the one that checked me out, she claimed she wasn't. It was a frustrating conversation and not at all helpful. She told me the crown was two years old and they weren't going to do anything even after she didn't remember of know what I was talking about. I never actually asked for anything, I was simply following up to see if the other office worker reached out to their management and if there was a resolution. I didn't think I should have to pay for an entirely new crown. Certainly, crowns shouldn't fail within two years, and it was their dentists that said it need to be replaced, not me. Overall, not very helpful and they did not seem to appreciate a long-term patient that wanted to stick it out with them after their dental staff turned over. They did say they would still call their manager who was on vacation, but I won't be back, and neither will my family.

By far the dental experience here has been so up and down. I am very aggravated with the office…read morestaff they are very rude, and seem like they don't really know what they're doing. When you come in it seems as if they are not happy and don't have a smile on their face. And when they do smile it doesn't feel genuine. I came here because of my insurance and I called one 800 Dentist which in the area of Lake Charles this was the only dentist that was willing to take Delta dental. When I walked in the office was very clean exceptionally clean that's one thing I do like about it. The office manager was very sweet as well when she told me the rundown for my one cavity and cancer screening. The lady who took my x-rays was very sweet as well. And the dentist she seemed very sweet and genuine. However, being that I have a cavity they put me on an appointment not until two weeks after May which really upsets me because my cavity could get worse in a matter of time. I came to them telling them I had issues with my crown there was mild pain, but no other tests where taken to see, the bite down test on a stick or etc. only X-rays. And of course most Dentist do not want to touch a crown that another dentist put on because it looked intact however I knew there was something wrong when I bit down and the pain at night. Fast forward Two weeks later I developed severe pain and problems with my crown, and I know my body. When I went in I had to really push for the dentist to understand that I needed to have pain medicine and a referral to the Endo which she did give me. However, out here in Lake Charles everything takes forever. So I would not be seen for a whole week. So I was then finally prescribed pain medicines and antibiotic. However the antibiotics was long enough to last me over but not the pain medicine. So, I had to go into the office after calling to demand my medicine that I could have to hold me over until I was seen by the specialist. But the office lady basically was telling me that the dentist was not going to prescribe me anything else and that I could take over-the-counter ibuprofen. I was furious, the problem with tooth pain is that you cannot do anything it is unbearable. You can't eat, sleep, and take care of kids. Taking the medicine every six hours with what I was prescribed the math was off so I would run out by the weekend. Luckily I feel the dentist really understood at the end, and put in another order. But it should've never got to the point where I got this upset and had to drive to the Dentist several times out of my way. I really feel the office manager should take a look at her office staff about being a little bit more nice to the patients and considerate of tooth pain and it is not something to play with. Your teeth are your whole body. And I still am upset because I would like to get my cavity filled before it gets worse. But I do not think they take this into consideration. I hope things get better here at Aspen dental.

I went and had work done prior they had me apply for care credit. All my services were covered in…read morethe cost. After the work was done I was told I owed almost 500.00 and had to pay it before I got my partial (that I already paid for). Apparently it was because that had me going 4 times a year for cleaning. Also I was charged and additional 150.00 for a crown I already paid for. When I refused to go more than was normal for a cleaning they wouldn't adjust my partial that cuts my mouth and makes it bleed until I went for these cleanings. It is ridiculous the prices and the surprise charges that are way above normal rates. Stay away from here
