Two hours with Betsy/Affordable Interior Design provided me with the focus and structure to make clear decisions about our living room as well as other areas of our new home. I initially contacted her to help me with the living room/media unit area. She suggested a custom assembly of IKEA pieces that turned out great and that I had not thought of on my own. The amount of money I saved with that was worth the service alone, since I was considering brands like Room & Board, or even custom mill work. Additionally, her suggestions for furniture placement, area rug and pillows (a separate service consultation) made a comfortable living room a more inviting, pleasant, and visually interesting space. I love design and browsing online, but sometimes you just need someone to come in with experience and a fresh eye to make key decisions that anchor a space. Betsy did that for us. The design plan reveal exceeded out expectations. Betsy nailed our style and created a cohesive look that we could never have achieved on our own. This was money well spent and really was affordable. I used Affordable Interior Design when we downsized from a house in the suburbs to an apartment. The team helped us review what I had to see what would work in the new space, gave ideas help maximize the layout and look of the new apartment and gave us a 'vision board' of items, ideas that were beautiful, cost effective and just want we needed. My designer came to the apartment, asked questions about our lifestyle and preferences and came back with a great plan - right down to links of where to buy items, all of which were budget friendly and from stores like Home Goods and Target. I used Affordable Interior Design for two rooms in my house. Angela made a computer model of the rooms and programmed in the dimensions of all of the pieces we selected which helped me understand what would and wouldn't fit. She made great recommendations about textures and pieces I wouldn't have thought of, and provided helpful rules of thumb about spacing of light fixtures and other pieces. Becky was our shopper and she was SO helpful and accommodating, even when we canceled and order and then asked her to re-order the item the next day. I had the pleasure of working with Allison Rachlis at affordable interior design and found it to be a great experience. We moved to a 4 bedroom home from a 2 bedroom apartment and I needed a lot of help. I emailed Betsy who promptly got me in touch with Allison. Allison scheduled a date and came over to see the spaces I needed furnished. I have a modern style but am Pakistani-American so also wanted certain pieces from my culture incorporated into the design.
