I just bought a new house, from which during the building process shower heads and faucets kept miraculously "disappearing". The builder claimed that the locks were changed and only the Superintendent had the key, but once we closed escrow, we were handed a set of seven keys total with the words "maybe they'll work, we're not sure". Sure enough, they all did. So much for diligence on part of the builder... Anywho, that being said I wanted to make sure that us and only us have access to our house. My wife called a locksmith she found online, but I checked out their Yelp! reviews and they were all one star. I called and cancelled the appointment and contacted Affordable Lock & Key through their website contact form. A couple of hours later the owner called me back, we talked about what would have to be done and scheduled the appointment for the following morning. Rekeying our locks took them 10 minutes. Rob was able to provide me with same day service- thanks, Rob. I would like to point out that Rob went the extra mile and inspected the springs on a door that enters the property. He showed me that the tension on the door needed to be adjusted and he happily took a few minutes to create a safer environment. Rob also noted that one of the dead bolts on our property had been jammed. Without hesitation he graciously replaced the lock and he did not charge me an additional fee- Thanks Rob. Had an extremely positive encounter with Rob today in Menifee, 9/8/16. Just bought our first home in Menifee, making the long haul from Wildomar ;-) Figured we would rekey the house since there has been renters here in recent years, who knows how many keys could be out there.... Rob showed up, looked at the front door and very honestly told me, "I am happy to do this for you, but if it were my house I would get a new knob set and install it yourself - let me know if you have any questions or need help. It'll add a great pop to your home for the years ahead." He could have very easily rekeyed the house and made a few dollars, but he was looking out for my best interest as a brand new home owner - and what a blessing that was! So I felt the least I could do was give him a few bucks for his time (crossing the Menifee Merge on Newport/215 is hassle enough!!) cover his fuel and get some Habit burger or something.
