Turns out my water heater was 12 years old (I had just purchased my house). He recommended I replace it, but was never pushy. He gave me different brand options based on my financial situation. He also repaired my toilet that wasn't properly bolted to the floor. It turned out to be a more extensive repair than I had previously thought. He took his time, explained what he was doing and why he needed to do it. He was on time, kind, respectful, extremely knowledgeable, and very thorough. When the technician arrived, my wife answered the door and he didn't introduce himself -- he simply stood there and bluntly said "you got a leak." After she acknowledged, he walked into the house without any professionalism or courtesy. He did not wear shoe covers or take any basic steps to respect our home. The leak detection diagnosis he provided turned out to be completely wrong. Based on his direction, I ended up taking apart a large portion of my kitchen -- removing granite countertops and cabinets -- only to later discover the leak was nowhere near where he said it was. This caused unnecessary disruption, time, and expense. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and incorrect diagnosis was extremely frustrating. I expect the company to review this situation, explain how this happened, and reach out to discuss how they intend to make this right. I will be documenting this issue and filing a complaint with Florida consumer protection authorities as well as escalating this to Mr Rooter corporate if it is not addressed. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company for leak detection until this matter is properly resolved. I will update this review based on the company's response.
