Our outdoor hot tub has always had a small issue where it would trip itself off once in a while, and just needed to be reset with the breaker, however, recently (late November in Michigan) it was tripping out every day, and I was about to pull the plug (see what I did there) and winterize it, and sell it in the spring, when my wife suggested I call in the experts. Well, in came Affordable Pool & Spa, arrived on time, within a couple of days of my call, diagnosed the problem, explained it clearly, ordered the part, and within 2 weeks, our hot tub is back giving us a wonderful spa for the winter. Came out to trouble shoot my Hot Springs hot tub issue. In 20 minutes tech determined it was my circulation pump ($150 part on Amazon, Spa Depot and all others I checked) there part charge was $284.84. After I called them with that info they reduced the part cost by $100. The tech took another 30 minutes to install the pump and the Labor cost was $371.00 (less than and hour and a half of work max) plus a service charge of $75. The pool closing and opening for this year was completely subpar. Julie, the office manager is always on defense when presented with concerns, not committed to making it right. I had to tell the office staff to read the technicians notes as they were completely unaware and in the dark. A once good company on a downward slide. I urge anyone to go elsewhere. I've been using Affordable Pool and Spa for 4 years now to service my 30,000 gallon in-ground pool. After having trouble with pricing and work completed by big local pool service contractors, I found Affordable Pool and haven't used anyone else since. The prices are fair, their communication is great, I instantly receive emailed copies of my receipts and service schedule, and Ed and his crew are always extremely nice and knowledgeable. read more

I agree with all the negative reviews. The techs were very nice however, they don't do any of the normal services provided by other companies. The owners are completely rude and lack customer service skills. They over promise and under deliver. The tech didn't have things they needed to proplerly complete my job and had to come back but the owner wanted to schedule an additional service call. Wanted to charge me for 3 labor hours to change out a valve. 3 x what my other quotes were for. I would not recommend this company. read more

Stay Away. If you dare complain on the less than desirable work they do, they mark your file with do not work with these people they are complainers and share it with other pool companies.
