I returned the product and the gentleman behind the desk took it back and said Charlie would call to refund- Charlie has not called us back and when we went in to try and get refund Charlie said he will have to check with distributor. Still no call back or refund- dishonest.

He seems to claim several names, Jeffery Anderson at times. Probably both fake. He said that we needed a new heater. So I paid him in advance for the heater as well as for that days service call. He subsequently blew off TWO following appointments without calling to let me know why or when he would actually be back to install the heater I paid for. So on top of everything else this cost me, I lost two days pay waiting at home for him for no good reason. He surely could have picked up the phone to release me from this unnecessary waiting game but chose to leave me hanging interminably instead. All this time I had space heaters on my tub, hoping it did not freeze up which would destroy it. When he finally did show up to install the heater, I had told him in advance not to wake me up until he had the job done. When he woke me up he told me that I owed $355.00 for that days labor. I trusted it was true and paid him as I had not idea how long he had been working. Later, I checked my security cams and discovered that it took him under 30 minutes. Since when do hot tub techs make $700 per hour? Knowing that this is an unreasonable amount to pay for hot tub service I contacted the store. Charlie the owner of the store, who had previously told me that he had personally trained the technician to work for him, told me that he was not responsible for what I was charged and it was none of his business! Really? So, even though the tech was trained at the store, and sent to me by the store, they claim to be...not responsible? That about sums it up. Avoid!

Midwest Pools - St. Clair In Ground Fiberglass Swimming Pool by Midwest / Leading Edge Pools

2017 Update: After much discussion and several visits, we…read moredid receive a refund for the "extra electrical" that their subcontractor charged us on the spot, for electrical that was already included in our contract with Midwest. We also received a refund for the drainage repair we paid for after the Midwest workers crushed a large PVC drainage tube and then covered it up without telling us. Product-wise, we've been happy with the fiberglass pool. Granted, we've only had it open for one season. We also invested in a power cover, and although we're happy with the added level of safety, I'm a little concerned with the quality of the actual mechanics. We'll see how long it lasts. Here is some advice if you're planning on going with Midwest: 1 - Ask for a name and number of the Midwest employee that will be overseeing you're entire installation, and make sure they're at your house when the subcontractors are working. Most of our issues wouldn't have happened if their subcontractors were properly supervised by a Midwest employee. After all, that is what you're paying Midwest to do. 2 - Get everything in writing. Even if it's for something small. The labor to close our pool was already covered by an addendum, but we had to prove it on three separate occasions.

After thinking the same thing as a bunch of you that Midwest's service is horrible and complaining…read morebecause they never come out when they say they will.... I've had my spool for 3 years and true, i've had a few problems. Leaks, Heater broken, learning daily management, opening, closing... Then on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, the owner, Scott, came over twice and personally repaired our pool heater. I think that they're doing the best they can but fiberglass pools are still fairly new and they're learning as they go along. He also has problems keeping good workers. There are not many other dealerships out there that are any better. So, if you want a fiberglass pool and you've read all the reviews and you get challenging service, then you're taking that risk. You can always pay more for a gunite pool from someone else but who knows if you'll get any better service. For the owner to come out himself this past holiday weekend. I think that says a lot and that he's making an effort. Let's all maybe try to be a little more patient and reasonable. I will still buy my next spool from them! Because when it works, it's Amaaaaaaazing~

Would have given no stars if it was possible…read more It went horrible. He said it would be $450, which we prepaid him. Than towards the end we got an invoice for another $230. He said it was because it was more work than he thought it would be, but never discussed any of these extra charges with us. He also said that we knew it would be more than $450 because it was such a large job, but again that was not true he never discussed it with us that it would be more the $450. He was rude when we called to talk to him about it and got upset with us because we never came out to talk to him while they were there cleaning the pool. We were at work each time he came so how could we? To top it all off the pool was open but not completely cleaned. There was still tons of vacuuming that needed to be done and it was disgusting the way he left it. However, he told us he was done cleaning it and it was our turn now. Yes that's right he said it was our turn to take it over when it wasn't even fully cleaned. Not only did he not finish the job and demand we pay him more but I had to continue to clean my yard every night when I got home. He would skim all the stuff out of the pool and just throw it in my grass dead frogs and everything.

Unfortuately, this company does not work on above ground pools but the customer service that I was provided was top notch, and because the owner's wife was so kind to me when I called I was able to get my pool in working condition through a referral.
