My experience with Affordable Sprinklers started with the quick and responsive on-site walk-down and estimate providing by Ken. He was incredibly detailed and customer focused as he answered every question that I asked regarding a new automatic sprinkler installation. He provided a quote at the same time of the walk-down and I found it to be extremely competitive. Five days later, Josh and his crew arrived on site and initiated the installation. When Josh arrived, I was at work and he was kind enough to validate some additional questions that my wife was unable to answer. He and his crew put an 8 zone system in along with a wifi controlled system in one day. I will admit that I was a bit nervous about the potential damage to my lawn, but this crew did an amazing job in minimizing impact and did a really nice job cleaning up the site post-install. Wehave been using this company for a couple years (since winter 2024) - simple turn on/off the system, replaced a few new nozzles here and there. Previously had 1 sprinkler head replaced and they charged $20 (or maybe $30, an almost insignificant amount) Well this year this guy Luis (? or Louis) came, charged me $200 for 1 sprinkler head (before labor), he did not tell us how much it was BEFORE he took the old one out. I know I should have asked how much but with previous years of dealing with this company we thought we knew the price level. After a couple of phone calls with "management" they offer to charge extra labor cost to take the $200 sprinkler head out (so we dont have to buy it) and extra labor cost to put the old broken one back. It turned out that they charged and extra $75 labor for this sprinkler head. Please DO NOT consider this company at all. Honesty is the way to run a business. And this is not. read more

Affordable Sprinklers were just installed in my front yard. The entire experience was wonderful. We called on Thursday (October 2). The next day, Josh was here to explain what was going to be done and the cost. The cost was surprizingly affordable, and parts used were Rainbird. A low price for a top quality product! Great! First the flags were installed marking gas and water lines. Josh and the crew were to arrive October 10. On October 9 they were already working. A very dedicated and knowledgeable crew that were polite as could be They finished in five hours. Josh explained the installation and how everything worked. If I have problems I know how to reach them. This was a beautiful process from start to finish. More companies should follow their routine--call the customer back, visit soon, do the work quickly and efficiently. Plymouth Township Water Dept cited me for having a sprinkler anti-backup valve that was not to their code and gave me a short time to fix or replace it. My regular sprinkler company in Livonia who I've always used would not reply or contact me after several attempts so I called Affordable Sprinklers and told them my issue. They came within the week to see what I needed, ordered the new valve and said they would have it installed before the township required completion date. They were good with their word and the new valve was installed by them as they had committed to do. I had additional work that needed to be done so they came back today and replaced several sprinklers and added a few new ones. Work was done quickly and they had me turn on each sprinkler zone to make sure things worked and I was satisfied. This is my new sprinkler company for any future work. The guy from Affordable came 3 hours early first off. Then he tells me there is a $95 service charge to show up. When making the appointment nothing was said about a $95 service charge and never paid this before when using Affordable. I would have gotten other estimates had I known there was a $95 service charge. Spent 10 minutes fixing one sprinkler head that I called to have fixed. $95 seems expensive to me for this easy repair. Had some damaged zones after brickwork was done in the yard, Affordable Sprinklers came out quickly and assessed the issues after I had waited months on other companies who never showed up or called back. Affordable was upfront and honest about the cost and what would be reliable down the road. They also called Miss Dig and made sure everything was properly marked and safe before putting a shovel in the ground. The whole crew was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable (as in they all seemed to know the components and systems, not just extra hands.) It was very refreshing to finally work with a sprinkler company that cared and knew exactly what to do. Rob and Devin came out to get my sprinklers up and running after not using them for the past 8 years. They ended being in pretty good shape. Only needed a few heads replaced and there was a break in the line. They went over the price for repairs which were very reasonable in price as was the labor charge. They were done in no time. I called them on Monday of this week after my (now) former sprinkler company wouldn't respond to my calls regarding winterization. They were very nice and responsive came on on Thursday to winterize my sprinklers with me not home (I had already shut off the water supply so no reason to need me). I setup an appointment for Sprinkler Winterization to be done on a Thursday. I took the afternoon off of work so I could be home during the 5hour appointment window (1PM - 6PM). This year was a late start up for our irrigation system. The very wet and rainy spring didn't require any supplemental moisture and then by the 4th of July we began to experience some dry spots. Oh well, time to open and turn on the Sprinklers. However the Polar Vortex claimed another victim. One of the ball valves cracked and had to be replaced before activation. Our original company went out of business, so what do we do? Thank goodness for YELP! We quickly found a close and recommended landscaping company and made the call. As expected things were pretty hectic around the holiday weekend, but they called back and set up an appointment in a reasonable period of time. Matt called the morning of, on his way, and quickly settled in on the task at hand. He finished the valve change and a recommended upgrade to the back flow valve. He reviewed the system, started it up and additionally recommended an upgrade to a malfunctioning sprinkler head. The upgrade worked extremely well and his advice at this point was to utilize the system with the existing heads and replace with the newer technology as required. Can't say good enough things about Affordable Sprinklers. I am a new homeowner, not going to lie I don't know the first thing about sprinklers. Don't even know how to turn them on. Only thing I knew is that in the winter they will freeze and that's bad news. I googled sprinkler winterization in Westland and gave these guys a shot. Not only did they give me a great price they came out the next day within the scheduled time period. Cliff is down to business and knows sprinklers in and out. There's a difference between someone "doing their job" and somebody who has mastered a skill. Cliff definitely has mastered sprinklers and knows them inside and out. I scheduled an appointment with this company over a week ago for my sprinkling system start up on June 4th from 1-6. Waited all this time and nobody showed up. I left two messages and as of now they still have not called me back. I understand things could happen, but why not to call and inform customers about not coming??? I wish I would've read other people's reviews before I wasted my time waiting for this company as it appears that this is a common trend with these guys. Update/Reply to Clifford: I called a few times on Friday morning trying to confirm my appointment. Nobody picked up the phone even once. I left my first message about 11:00 am on Friday. After 4:00 pm, I called again a few times and there was still no answer. I left my second message after 6:00pm. According to your answering recording as well as Yelp, your office is supposed to be working Monday through Saturday. Since nobody was answering the phone on Friday, I'm not sure what good it would do if I call the office on Monday. read more

I found the business phone number on Angie's List. I wanted my sprinkler control relocated from the basement to the garage. They spent about 15-20 minutes assessing the move and said piece of cake as the garage was directly above and they could see a place to drill though and mount near the outlet in the garage. I said great. I then told them I needed some sprinkler work so I showed them an area of my lawn that was not getting watered properly so asked about adding a sprinkler along the foundation of my home and moving another about three feet. My estimate was verbal at $185.00. Easy fixes all around.... They came back the following week a day later than promised. But no problem They did the outside work first. I was inside caring for my 91 year old mother. They ran the bell and told me that the wire needed for the job was out of stock. They wolud return when it becomes available. He then stated I owed him $145.00 for the two sprinkler heads. I was shocked ... the gentleman was about 6 feet tall and wide framed and said he was only charging me 20.00 to drill the hole and relocate the box. I owed him $165.00... I argued for a short moment but I did not have a written breakdown of the charges so I just gave them the money to go away. A couple weeks later My neighbor who generally waters her lawn just before day had a special treatment done to her lawn, and was watering twice a day. That is when I learned Affordable Sprinkler had tied into my neighbors sprinkler line. I deeply apologized to my neighbor. She was livid as her sod is new and she had been watering my lawn. I called and the previously very kind receptionist was now very snarly and nasty. She sent them back. The workers were angry and rude, They left a ugly hole in my neighbors sod and a pile of loose dirt on top of my sod. They even left a crimping tool and rings in the grass. I called the nasty receptionist. I spoke to a man who said his name was Bobbie and he was the supervisor. He apologized and said they did have wire and things should not have happened that way and he would get everything straightened out and call back. He never did!!!. In the mean time we got a couple good rains and low and behold the loose dirt washed away and I saw they ran the sprinkler line level with the dirt. I can see the black and blue striped hose laying in my grass. I called back and was given a repair date 2 weeks ago. I am still waiting as of today October 26, 2020. They have done nothing but been disrespectful and untruthful. They did horrible work for me. If you are a woman don't call them. so sorry I called them, Paulette I have never been unkind or nasty to your workers or receptionist. How awful of you to disparage me in this manner. You need to repair your poor attempt. In response to my post I don't know who you are referring to but my neighbor is a woman who is quite ill and very unable to confront anyone. I am almost 70 years and a mature Christian woman who you have just slandered in print with outrageous lies. I have no idea of who you are speaking of in your response.
