My daughter seems to like her as well. That being said, I'll be finding another pediatrician (probably After Hours Pediatrics--I've heard good things) because I find the old-school medicine and closed-mindedness annoying. I've gotten condescending head shakes and glares when I mention co-sleeping, vaccinating on a selective schedule, not introducing solids until 6 months old, baby led weaning, etc. I understand that doctors went to school for this kind of thing (20 years ago--and a lot has changed), but please don't recommend rice cereal as a first food when I JUST read several articles about how terrible it is for babies. Not to mention talking about weaning a breastfed baby at 9 months old(?!). I would recommend Dr. Janet Samorodin if you're less of a crunchy parent and more traditional. She is great with kids and all of the employees are very friendly.

The group working the front desk helped me to get signed up and said thanks to some cancellations I'd be able to have her seen that morning. We waited about fifteen minutes and then a nurse did a few tests on my daughter and checked her height and weight. After another fifteen minute wait, the doctor---whose name escapes me--- came in and immediately began speaking to my daughter. I liked the personal touch. She asked a lot of questions, did a few simple exams, and heard out my concerns about giving shots and medicine to my daughter. At the visit's end, she was able to reassure me that my daughter's health was fine and make some simple suggestions on how we could help her get back to 100%. Overall, a pleasant and painless experience---and this coming from someone with a major aversion for hospitals and such. I also should mention they have a side for sick children and healthy children and this seems like a good touch, although it may be common.

I strongly do not recommend taking your kids here for care. My son is 5 years old, and I have been…read morebringing him here since he was born. His primary care doctor is Laura Abeyta at the Golf Course location. We have never had complaints regarding Dr. Abeyta, but after what recently happened to my son, it is not hard not to question the whole practice. On July 10th I took my son to the Holly location around 8:45pm; as he was having symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting. The provider he saw at the time was Rebecca Webb. I had given my son pain medication prior to the appointment so he seemed okay so only a physical exam was given but no further testing was done nor medication prescribed or recommended. The provider stated it could just be a stomach bug as something is going around, so we then proceeded to go home. My son and I were going to be traveling the next day so I was very persistent with letting them know we would be traveling, and I was scared my son would get worse on the way. The following morning my son woke up with a fever and had exploding diarrhea, I then called After Hour Pediatrics back to let them know my son's symptoms had worsened and I asked if they recommend, I take him in to be seen again? They stated he would be okay to just "let him go through it". I listened to them. I trusted them. As my son and I are traveling he is not doing good. We were traveling to Juarez and as soon as we made it in, I took him to a doctor, and they stated he was not well and needed to be taken to the hospital asap... We immediately crossed over to El Paso and took my son to the El Paso Children's Hospital Emergency room where he was immediately checked in and properly checked, come to find out that he had appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix, if ruptured you can die or cause complications). Unfortunately, my son's appendix did rupture which caused him to have more complications during his recovery. During recovery he absorbed an ileus (where your small intestine becomes paralyzed causing bowel obstruction). My son had to have 2 back-to-back surgeries; he was in ICU for 3 days... He was hospitalized for 10 days. Thankfully to God, powerful prayers from family and friends, and the amazing El Paso Children's Hospital Pediatric team my son is healthy and alive. I just wanted to share my story because my son could have died... I do not want any other parent or kid to go through what we went through... Had I not taken the extra step he would not be here. I put trust in After Hour Pediatrics and they let my son and I down. I am very disappointed with the way my son was not properly attended here. We will not be returning to any After Hour Pediatrics, although it may not have been all the providers fault but my son has had complications of constipation since he was a newborn, I never thought anything of it but now with finding out what my son had, could this have been prevented had Dr. Abeyta done more throughout testing during the constipation visits and maybe would have had the surgery done sooner? and the provider he saw that night, seemed like she wanted to go home as she did no testing, no labs, no ultrasounds and no medications were given, nothing was done besides an annual physical exam, if that, then the following morning another provider basically was trying to get me off the phone and did not properly advise me. It seems like the whole practice could learn something from this. Regardless I feel like this could have been prevented by After Hour Pediatrics had they properly diagnosed my son. Please never stop trusting your own gut and always stay fighting for your kid, be their advocate.

When he asked about my diet…read moreand I told him my ethnicity, he paused for like 5 minutes, and then he stereotypically guessed "rice", by looking at my appearance and skin color during one physical checkup. To be honest, I haven't visited him since 2022. But during the last two or three physical checkups in the past years, he kept saying the same old advice, which was not super helpful and personalized. He also couldn't identify a life-threatening stomach issue that my cousin had back in 2018 or 2019. And so, my cousin had to go to Presbyterian Hospital for urgent medical care, and luckily he was treated well there despite a weeks long hospital stay. Anyways, at first, when HE WAS MY PEDIATRICIAN both at the old address (10110 Spain NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111) and at the current address (3825 Eubank Blvd NE A, Albuquerque, NM 87111), for more than 20 years, he was doing alright, and he was initially helpful. But eventually over several years, the quality of his care and assistance declined a lot. I don't know why the New Mexico Medical Board didn't strip him of his doctor's license a LONG TIME AGO, especially due to his incompetence, ignorance, and age-related downfall.

Dr Sumner is getting older, and as much as I respect him as a man & Doctor, he doesn't always remember past visits anymore. His Nurse Practitioners are awesome & friendly but you don't always see them as they have multiple offices. They have allergy testing right in the office for allergy shots. All of this to say, all of my teens requested of us to take them to a different office and we responded by doing so. Office is *always* CLEAN and friendly.

The reality is that our school does not require Vaccine A, and the colleges we have looked into do not require Vaccine B. The way you presented this to my child led her to believe that she had no choice but to receive both vaccines in order to return to school and eventually attend college. Is this how you routinely speak to your young patients? Do you regularly present recommendations as if they are mandatory requirements? I also find it concerning that the conversation focused so heavily on administering additional vaccines without clearly distinguishing between medical recommendations and actual school or college requirements. Parents deserve accurate, transparent information so they can make informed decisions for their children. Based on this experience, I have lost confidence in this clinic. I expected honest, evidence-based communication, not statements that my child perceived as misleading. This experience has caused me to question whether this clinic prioritizes patients' best interests, or mere profit.

HEADS UP PARENTS!!! Long, but informative and worth the read!!!…read more I have three children who have received care here a few times and would NEVER recommend this place to any parents whatsoever. Everything about Bebe Care Pediatrics has been unprofessional!!! First, the front desk receptionists are rude and cocky. They are unreliable and inconsistent with failing to email important documentation concerning the children to the parent which they promise to send and also with not helping with the OhMD app that does not work. Second, they can apparently only schedule two children in a family back to back, but have to schedule the third for a different time within an hour and a half to two hour difference if you are lucky because it is too hard on the pediatrician to see that many children at once, so I was told. This excuse is unacceptable, does not make any sense if the children have scheduled appointments, and the pediatrician's job is to clearly care for children throughout the day. This is completely inconvenient, especially when you live an hour away. Third, either the front desk's wrong doing or the pediatricians, specifically Kim and Morgan in my case, continually pass the children around to a new pediatrician every time they have an appointment and cannot keep straight who the children's primary pediatrician is. It is impossible to build a strong, respectful, professional, healthy, and trusting relationship with your children's pediatricians here. Most maddening experience that boiled my blood to the core was my son recently being given the wrong vaccination by another pediatrician, Tran!!! Now, they want him to go in again to get the correct one, yet they will not genuinely take accountability for their horrendous mistake that should have NEVER happened!!! The last straw was them saying this wrong vaccination will do him no harm, but it infuriates me that they say it is not a big deal, they do not take it seriously, or they do not pay attention to what they are injecting into our children's bodies!!! IT IS A HUGE DEAL TO ME!!! He broke out in a rash that felt like bugs biting him for a few days after taking it. Now, I am not sure if he was having an allergic reaction to this vaccine. We have given Bebe Care Pediatrics way too many chances and will be taking our children elsewhere. This place is careless, untrustworthy, ridiculous, does not care about parental rights, and surely does not share compassion for children's safety, health, or wellbeing. If I could rate Bebe Care Pediatrics with zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. They should be sued and shut down over this. I did not give consent. - One Furious Mom
