Both of our kids attended Afterschool Learning Tree, and the experience had a profoundly positive impact on their development. They went on to attend highly respected colleges--one on the West Coast and the other on the East Coast. ASLT is a great after school program, especially their variety tutoring programs. My son takes English class with Ms Dorman, his English writing improved dramatically. He likes painting class a lot too. He also took piano and table tennis before, all good experiences. read more

My kid has been in ASLT for 4 years and he loves the piano class with Miss. Galina, chinese chess class with Mr. Lee, PE class with MR. jason, drawing class with Big-fish, math class with MR. Gary. And the professional english teacher, Miss Carol indeed helps my kid's on english writing/reading a lot to catchup native speakers:) Also my kid learns ping-pong skill from Coach Joan/Eral Alto for 2 years and he loves this sport and enjoys the friendship in after school learning tree. Terrible school. Staff are not qualified at all. There is one exceptionally terrible staff member I will not directly called out. At my time at this school, this staff member who I will call "Robert" treated me and other male students with disrespect. He tried to intimidate me and my peers as often as he could by yelling at us for the slightest of mistakes. What a loser. Imagine getting validated by yelling at a bunch of 9 year olds. You're not tough because a bunch of children are afraid of you buddy. The same staff member, "Robert", also used to be a bus driver. I rode his bus one day to the after school. He was clearly not paying attention and talking to somebody on the phone. He ended up losing control of the bus and swerving into the side of the road. Luckily, we were on the freeway so no one got hurt. The school ended covering it up and no parents ended up hearing about the accident. The children on the bus were obviously pretty shook up, and when the asked about it, Robert blamed it on the van not working properly. Overall, terrible staff, dirty school, don't send your children here. The place is unsanitary and the teaching here is overall subpar (Chinese being an exception). read more

My cousin really loves here. He has been playing ping-pong in learning tree already 5 years since fifth grade. I think learning tree has the best ping-pong program near San Diego area. They have best coach and desirable place. read more

The learning tree is the best program that I have ever put my children in. Currently my children are a part of the ping pong program and work with coach John, and they totally love him! There are plenty of other programs offered at the learning tree if you're interested. The only thing I would recommend for this establishment is to try and start including small snacks for the kids. read more

After School Learning Tree offers various opportunities in the community. I am grateful my kids and family could find a place that feels like a home. The teachers and staff members here are the treasures. Mrs. Talis teaches my kids not only piano but her years of music and life experience. With her help, my kid passed the level 10 CM test. Ms. Dorman inspires my kids to fall in love with writing. Mr. Guan and Mr. Saad are excellent math teachers, who help the kids advance in their current level and build their confidence for middle school/high school. Last, but not least, the Table Tennis club builds a strong Ping-Pong community in the San Diego neighborhood. Above are just a few highlights from my experience, I am sure you will find out more when you visit the place. I witnessed the driver for this center run a school bus red lights, and was talking on their cell phone with students on board. Not safe!

One of the best table tennis facilities in San Diego! The staff is friendly and my kids just love it. The coaches provide 1 on 1 attention in order to meet my kids needs to help them develop the necessary strokes to play table tennis in the best way possible. I would highly recommend this place to children as it helps them develop cooperation with one another and problem-solving skills as well! read more

I went to After School Learning Tree several years back with my sister and really enjoyed it as a kid. It was a friendly place for us to take classes, do homework, and play with other kids. Parents beware of their after school bus service. I recently had an accident involving them and it was clearly their fault. Instead they completely changed their story of how the accident took place. As a parent of 3, I know how precious our children lives are. Please be very careful and think twice before using their bus service. I could clearly see how they are very unethical and will be quick to not claim liability in case of an accident. read more
