Steffany is not only clearly very knowledgable about horses, but also passionate, and great at teaching. This experience was extremely well priced for the value we got. We went on a beautiful trail in a forest nearby filled with butterflies and serenity. despite the record breaking heat that day, we were completely comfortable and relaxed the whole journey. In one appointment, in addition to our ride, we learned about basic horse care and grooming, getting gear on and off, and basics of caring for a stable of horses. We really got to taste the pleasures and responsibilities of owning your own horse(s), all for the small fee of a trail ride. Booking was extremely convenient. We were making a trip to Port Dover from Toronto, and just called Fox Lair along the way on a whim. Steff happily accommodated our schedule. Her focus is on safety, horsemanship, learning, individual experience and FUN! Her horses are very well trained and very well cared for. A well maintained, large arena means lessons can take place in a safe and comfortable environment year round. "Take me home Country roads…read moreTo the place I belong" -John Denver Camp Weona is the place I belong. I went to this camp for 7 years as a child and worked there for 2 summers. This summer, I volunteered for one week. If you are looking for a camp for your child, please consider Weona. Weona boasts beautiful views and a wide range of activities, including archery, horses, canoeing and kayaking, arts and crafts, and a brand new high ropes course including a zip line. I just tried it this summer and it's a blast. The food is average, but it is improving every year. Cabins are rustic and you will get the outdoor experience. I've listed many amenities, but please know that the best part of this place is the wonderful people who work here. The staff care about the children and the experience, as well as this beautiful place. It also should be noted that Weona isn't all for kids... Weona hosts schools and other organizations, family weekends, etc. If you don't believe anything about my review, know that the motto of Weona is "where only good prevails." This summer has been one of great improvements at Beaver Meadow. The parking areas and the…read morebotanical gardens are spectacular this year. There's evidence of a new frog pond under construction, which appeals to my young grandsons. We always take time to go through the visitor center and enjoy the aquariums filled with reptiles and amphibians. The staff is so very helpful and understanding, answering the million questions that my boys often post to them.

The clubhouse is situated at the end of Gordon street and offers a fantastic view of lake Ontario. Amenities are much like those from a well kept small resort with the convenience facilities like the showers, a staffed bar, multiple outdoor patios and communal BBQ for the members and their guests. Since we joined towards the end of this year's boating season, we did not get to experience the regatta and other fun activities like the Octoberfest planned by the club, but we're looking forward to enjoying the full experience next year.

From intro sailing for little kids (called Mosquitos) to more advanced sailing programs (White Sail) to advanced sailing techniques and racing (Broze, Silver, Gold), the WYC is a superb place for smart, active, eager kids who love the water and want to learn many life lessons and skills they will hold onto for the rest of their lives. Our favourite instructor Ian has moved on and now Emma has taken over. My son raves about Emma and the other instructors. Both on water and classroom instruction. The little kids play games too and have fun. Sunscreen required...at least SPF 45, applied at least twice a day. At the end of the year there is a banquet and the kids get their diplomas, have a meal and awards are handed out. Trust me, this is a great summer program. Space is limited.
