    'Remodeled' bathroom door

    Hey there Britt, We approved A COUCH to be delivered, not an entire sectional set that in all took hours to finish. We also never approved the plumber coming in the house because we knew it was useless. We didn't refuse it but we didn't approve it. We also know the sewage smell has been an ongoing problem for over 10 years. You and the owners are vacation slumlords

    We have rented vacation properties along the North Shore in Lake Tahoe over the past eight years from many individuals and management companies. When it comes to quality care, attention to our needs and accommodation in our plans, we prefer to partner with Agate Bay Realty.     We checked in on 05-10-2019 to the Firefly cabin that we booked through AIRBNB but is hosted by Agate property. Checking in was easy enough. When we got to the cabin things got bad. Since you pay a pretty significant deposit for cleaning and damages you would think that things would be clean and working correctly. My wife had to start cleaning before we could get settled. The pubic hair in the washing machine the bathroom sinks the bathtubs and stuck in the dirty towels was pretty disturbing. The dirty cooktop the stained white towels the bathroom sink that doesn't drain the attic access door that hangs open. The description clearly says there's a bedroom with a king bed so we bring our king sheets for the king bed....no king bed so our sheets didn't fit. Had to buy towels because we couldn't use the stained and disgusting ones that were there. Absolutely no privacy....the kitchen and family room are completely open to the whole neighborhood. No way to cover the sliding door that's in the middle of those rooms. Agate property should really check the properties before guests checking in. Review #2 So after my initial review posted I received inappropriate emails and inappropriate comments to my review from Brett at Agate. His original comment was removed after I responded to his emails on yelp. I've read several other horrible reviews about Agate and they all involve Brett. I'm assuming he's the owner of this company. I didn't write the initial review to upset anyone at Agate I wrote it to inform other consumers just like me. At first I was confused by Brett's response but when I started to read other reviews about him I then understood what I was dealing with. He's upset...if Agate is so against people writing their opinions about their properties you would think they would make sure their properties are what they advertise. After being harassed by Brett I contacted AIRBNB who I booked the rental through and informed them of what was happening. I sent them the same photos I posted on yelp and forwarded the emails I received from Brett. AIRBNB was amazing when dealing with our unfortunate situation. Of course Agate property felt the need to lie and say I was inappropriate and a horrible tenant. I paid for the week we stayed at the property up front...we followed all checkin and checkout instructions to a tee never bothered the neighbors didn't have the police called on us and the property was cleaner when we left than when we arrived so I'm confused how I was horrible. It's unfortunate that companies like this lash out at consumers that are only being honest. Shame on Agate . 0 STARS

Here are the facts of what happened to me when I tried to rent a house from Hauserman: ⁃I found a rental property that was suitable for my group, filled out the booking form, signed the rental agreement, and paid the initial payment. ⁃Weeks later, I got an email that said my rental had been canceled, with no indication as to why. ⁃I had to call them and ask what happened. They stated that the owner had decided they wanted to stay there that weekend, so they simply canceled my stay, despite the signed rental agreement. ⁃They were unhelpful in finding an alternative location, offering only another one of their properties that had less bedrooms and a worse location. ⁃I tried to work with them and asked to be transferred to other properties in their portfolio that were suitable for our group and more equivalent to our original rental, but they refused to allow us to transfer to one of those unless I paid the difference, despite Hauserman being the one that canceled our original rental. Just be aware that Hauserman can and will cancel your rental at any point and then basically tell you to pound sand.

Dave and his team are not only professional, but he is kind and very hard working. Criterion Properties services both of my vacation homes in Tahoe and I have referred them out to a couple others as well. My two homes have had many renters, but still look great. Dave has had to deal with renters locking themselves out, spilling wine on the couch, and losing guest/parking passes, but he's always calm and quick to resolve the situation. He eventually transitioned us to another member of his team, but Brent showed concern for our house as if it was his own. A+ all around. I don't write many Yelp reviews but this is warranted. He and his team are exceptional.

The place was not remotely close to what was advertised. Their mentions of interior design and decor did not match up with the scribbles on walls, chipped and broken furniture, and torn leather chairs that we actually found when we arrived. The worst part was how dirty the property was. They charged a bunch of money for a cleaning fee which would have been fine if the property was actually clean. There were stains on the sheets, bugs, cobwebs, and food on the plates and silverware. Also, a complete lack of communication when Airbnb tried to get in touch with them to resolve the issues. We just ended up going somewhere else. Absolutely terrible. The photos speak for themselves.

We expressed our concerns/issues with the property, but each was dismissed by Julie. We discovered on multiple beds there were dirty linens. When we brought it to Julie's attention so brushed it off as the property being "an old house" and probably just stains on the sheets. We ended up washing all the linens at 10pm the night we got in and all of the "stains" came out. Stains or not, even Motel 6 offers clean and stain-free linens. We had to clean pots and pans before using them. We also had to clean the bathroom before being able to use the shower. It is understandable that Julie does not do the cleaning and servicing herself. However, in owning a property management company, part of your duties is to oversee the company doing the cleaning. Julie expressed no concerns and even a sincere apology for the poor experience my family had. I was shocked at her lack of customer service. Do not utilize this company to rent from or to manage your property.

My rental is my only source of income so when the cleaners were late or things were broken and not fixed because I was not notified, guests would not have the best experience. I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.
