My rental is my only source of income so when the cleaners were late or things were broken and not fixed because I was not notified, guests would not have the best experience. I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.

It is also not morally right to take one person's money and then take another person's money on top of that. Sometimes fairness has to take precedence over policy. There should be a good faith effort to make things fair for all renters. The unfairness of what happened to us was very disappointing -- renter beware. The timeline is as follows: the reservation was booked on January 31 and my son cancelled on February 21 -- not March 12 as stated. The stay is still several months away. We contacted Airbnb and they are currently reaching out to the host to review the situation. Unfortunately, my son was also blocked from contacting the host after the cancellation, which made it difficult to discuss any possible solutions directly. Our intention in leaving a review was simply to share our experience so others are aware of the cancellation policy before booking. The host also claimed that I threatened to write a review, which is not true -- I only wanted to let people know about the unfairness of this business practice.

The part that stands out about Chris is how clear and easy everything was. A day after we left, we realized that we left something behind. I messaged Chris, and the professionalism of how he addressed this situation was phenomenal! This isn't out of spite or anything, it's not like I even had a chance to talk to any of them over the 2 week period we kept trying to contact them *between 11am and 4pm mon-fri* to even have had the opportunity to get into a dispute. Location & Grounds: The setting is incredible, well-maintained, and hard to beat. Units & Amenities: Unfortunately, the units haven't changed much over the years, especially considering what they charge. The mattresses are very uncomfortable, the TVs barely work, and many of the amenities feel outdated. The sauna never seems to get hot enough, and I've always wondered why a hot tub has never been added, it would be a great improvement. We also found that basic supplies like toilet paper were very limited. This property has so much potential, and with some updates to the units and amenities, it could easily be a five-star experience. My entire family feels the same way. We love coming here and hope the owners invest in modernizing the accommodations to match the incredible location.

No one is maintaining this unit.

The only negatives I found with them was they have a very small roster of homes on Donner with a private pier (probably just means very few owners rent their homes out) and the rental office could be a bit more organized with their processes. Aside from that, would rent again, especially if they get a few more house options with private piers to choose from!

The kitchen had all the plates, pots, and pans, but the only thing was they weren't clean upon arrival. I had to run everything in the dishwasher before preparing meals or drinking anything in the cups. The kids really loved the two sets of bunk beds in our rental. They even had kids' books and toys already in the house. I killed two mosquitoes in the downstairs bathroom, but luckily didn't get any bites. Also, I think the cleaners that ''cleaned'' before we arrived were not thorough because there were layers of dust on the cabinets and shelves, dressers and counter tops. Otherwise, the jacuzzi and the balcony view were fabulous. So close to North Star resort, it's ridiculous. Not that far to the Lake and other fun stuff. A nice, welcoming touch was the binder with pertinent information about the town and the rental home.

We parked in the passenger drop off zone and the office was a few steps away. The brochure they gave use was outdated as there is no pottery place in the village anymore. The underground garage was nice as it was snowing. You can find an updated map in the village at the ski lift pass office. The ice rink was closed during our end of March visit and if you want food from a restaurant make sure it's before 6pm as the only thing open late is pizza. The movie theatre was nice but they only have kid shows. The hot tub and pool were closed in our unit so we had to walk over the the second pool by the main entrance to use that. The steam room was not working for the men there but was working by our unit in the gym area. We were to check out by 11am but your key card works after that so we were able to go back and get something we forgot.

Furnishings were all comfortable. Internet worked well. Kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook several of our meals. The only downside was the resort was mostly closed up. There were three restaurants that were open during out stay, Petra, Rubicon Pizza and a Mexican place. The Mexican restaurant was good, but only open 11-4 on weekdays. One of the weekend days it was closed due to a plumbing issue. Rubicon was great, but the menu is a little limited aside from pizza. Petra just wasn't our type of place. There was a general market open until 6pm, and a froyo place. I'm not sure how much of the closures were due to Covid or just summer in general. This was the end of a week + trip for us, and I liked that I was able to do some of my laundry before heading home! We would definitely return!
