I recently visited AgaveJalisco in GeorgeWest and had a genuinely enjoyable experience. The ambiance is warm and family‑friendly, and the service was attentive and welcoming. We ordered the fajita plate and a couple of other dishes; the meat was tender and well‑seasoned, and the sides (especially the rice and beans) were better than what you typically get. The salsa and chips arrived promptly and tasted fresh. LOVE their hot sauce. For the price, we felt the value was good. All in all: solid food, good service, nice setting -- worth the stop. I ordered the beef enchiladas in the drive through. Took about ten or so minutes which wasn't bad. The rice is delicious and everything, overall, was well-seasoned. Nice, clean relatively new restaurant. Several daily lunch specials that are super affordable. Large selection of Mexican dishes. Nice staff. Enchiladas were good, beans and rice as you expect. It's a chain with several restaurants in several smaller Texas towns and the food is always consistent, served hot and fast and at a very reasonable price. read more

Definition of a 10/10 hole in the wall place! We absolutely loved the food and the service was quick and tentative as well on a Friday night. I've lived in George West my whole life and the restaurant previously there was delicious so i had high hopes for this one but over the years the quality has DRAMATICALLY decreased. Both in service AND food. Half the time I go there my order is wrong. If you get something to go in the drive thru, they charge you way more than the menu says. Whether you go inside for your meal, or take advantage of their handy drive through, this place never disappoint! They have fresh, hot delicious meals served by friendly staff. Food was not good and came out cold and took a while to get. Service is bad, they act like they don't want you to eat there.

Maybe I caught them on a bad night but the service was slow and they were not that busy. When the fajita combo plate came out it was cold and very greasy along with the cold tortillas and rice and beans. read more

I visited during dinner time while traveling through the area. There weren't many restaurant choices in George West! I ordered the chicken soup and 1 bean & cheese chalupa. I really wanted fajitas, but didn't order once I found out it wasn't flamed cooked. The food quality was just OK.. Soup lacked vegetables & there was too much fat in the broth. Just another mexican food restaurant. The tv is usually on mexican tv channels and you can hear mexican music and the tv at the same time. Check your frozen beer mug for cracks and chips taken out of them. I almost cut my lip open on one. The next visit I looked at the rim of the glass and it had a chip in it too. After the young waitress was done texting she noticed me tring to get her attention, we made ee contact, and she ran into the kitchen. So I grabbed the next waitress and she fixed my problem pretty quick. I noticed she put the chipped mug into the dirty dishes instead of the trash. So be cautious. the food is pretty good, nothing I had was spectacular. the triple enchiladas were the best thing I had here. read more

if you're looking for a good mexican restaurant to eat, do not go to this one. i ordered a burger earlier & was given the hardest rock of a bun with salad lettuce. carrots & all. i've been living here my whole life & used to really enjoy this restaurant but, over the past few years, it has become the biggest joke. they charge you whatever prices they want, so don't pay attention to what is says on the menu. this place needs gordon ramsey more than ever. read more

The beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas were awesome. They have an expansive menu complete with pictures of the featured items. The chips were fresh and the salsa tasted fresh and homemade. Service was great. The young man that brought out the chips and bussed the tables impressed me with his manners as he would run to the door to hold it open. Great food and great service. read more

Its got a small footprint, with booths across the wall, and a couple of tables. They typical have one or two servers. The menu is surprisingly extensive. Great food and awesome service! We had the carne guisada, tacos de carne asada and tostadas de ceviche. We absolutely loved the tacos, the meat was juicy and flavorful. The ceviche needed a bit of salt but nothing we couldn't adjust to our liking. The carne asada was nice and tender and the sauce was by far the best I've had in a while. Just left this place. Stopped on our way back to San Antonio. There was a large table already in the restaurant and only a few other tables, one which left soon after we arrived. As we were in a hurry we asked the waiter if the large table had already received food and he said no and checked to see if kitchen was backed up - he said it would only take 10-15 minutes. We ordered cheese enchiladas and a chicken queso dish. With three waiters, it took about 20 minutes to get food. They gave us chicken enchiladas instead of cheese enchiladas. The chicken dish was not good - thin and dry. We had to ask again for tortillas that came with chicken dinner. And when we got them they were not warm, a little hard and not good. Rice was not good either. How can you mess up tortillas and rice? We cancelled the cheese enchiladas, even though they brought them out right after we cancelled. But we had to leave as we were in a hurry. We paid and they did take off the enchiladas, which we appreciated, and left. The other reviews were good, which is why we stopped. Maybe it was an off night. But for us it was bad food and bad service. read more
