*Changed my Review* Please Read. * So I originally made a 1 star review. I decided to change it to 3 stars because they finally after numerous calls I was able to get my refund. I'm very happy and relieved. Honest Review coming ahead. I was mad and sad at the time because of the way I was treated by many agents and their supervisors on the phone. So what happened was, I had requested a one month insurance and even after the agent agreed that I would only get one month I was still charged for the second month. So I called (taking 1 month to resolve the issue), They were nice when they talked to me on the phone, but they blamed me for something I told them I didn't want or something I didn't agree. Supervisors wouldn't talk to me, they would just tell the agent what to say all the time, and the agent would tell me. However, I was happy to receive a call one morning with the good news, so happy a manager looked deeper into my case and refunded my money. Lesson I learned today ... if it feels too good to be true, it is! LOL I am a full time college student who originally was looking for catastrophic insurance starting July 1st. Talking to an agent yesterday (Thursday 6/13) I was told their catastrophic plan was 125$, but then was told about a health insurance plan for $188. I am a logical person. Even though I don't go to the doctors often, I figured I should take the health insurance plan since only 60$ more just in case. After talking with a general manager, (I believe to be named Jeff) we worked out a deal that I would be charged (Wednesday 6/26) for my plan that would start (Monday 7/1) Why would I pay on that day (6/13) if my plan wasn't even active until the July 1st to then get charged again on July 14th??? Monthly payments should cover the whole month your membership is active for... Woke up this morning and saw that the 188$ had been taken out of my bank account at 3am. LOL WHAT A JOKE!!! I feel scammed and taken advantage of for being so trusting. I had read the fine print before e-signing yesterday and I knew I had 30 days to cancel if I was unhappy. I called member services and the lady (Liz) was nice, but was definitely not from America, probably not even in America and had a thick accent so ver hard for me to understand her. I cancelled my plan today (Friday 6/14) before ever even using it for fear of more issues arising in the future. Liz told me that I will get an email about my cancelled plan and my refund within 24-48 business hours. So let's hope I get that by Monday! Save your money and maybe even pay a little bit more to go with the many companies that are known to be transparent and reliable with their word. I bought Agentra to cover the PHONY Obamacare penalties with MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE (MEC.) I have not had any problems with Agentra. They have answered all my questions and stated my benefits including generic prescription drugs. When I received my bill.....YES I WAS SHOCKED!!! ONLY because I worked at a clinic before and I know the SCAMs some doctors do!!!! This clinic tried to scam me.........I was charged for services that was NOT performed. Then this doctor's clinic tried to pull another scam on me which some bad doctors do......They double-dip!!! I believe most of the bad reviews here are for two reason and it has nothing to do with Agentra: 1.) Doctors are double dipping when they bill insurance. All doctors have two prices. Insurance price and regular clinic price. Once a doctor accepts insurance they can only charge the patient certain amount for certain services. It is part of the contract they sign for accepting insurance. Some shady doctors bill insurance PLUS they bill YOU to get maximum payment..............GET THIS.....EVEN though they have signed a contract to charge only certain prices if they bill insurance, they price gouge by making you pay the difference that insurance don't pay----yes, violating their insurance contract!!! This is a scam that shady doctors do. 2.) Another scam that doctors do....Doctors are billing for services that was NOT performed and try to bill insurance and when your insurance rejects it they pass it on to the YOU---the PATIENT, thinking you are stupid.......... 3.) Most basic insurance only covers generic drugs so you have to disclose this to your doctor otherwise they prescribe NON-generics because of PHARMAceutical reps visiting their clinics!!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM I needed insurance when I was transitioning jobs back in January, I called to enroll and asked if they took my primary care. They looked up the name and practice and told me that it wouldn't be a problem my primary care is covered by this policy. A month later a call to make an appointment and I discover they have NEVER taken that insurance. So I call and ask them to cancel the policy and issue a refund only to find out I cant get a refund because I cancelled my policy prematurely. This company is a complete scam. I was looking for health insurance and came across this company. I was covered with my primary care doctor and my child's primary care doctor, that I only had a 30 day wait time for doctor visits. Turns out, I dont have insurance at all. I only have access to a telephone doctor. Why would someone be looking for health insurance and pay $300 a month for no insurance? No one would. So I called and cancelled my policy and three weeks later they took $300 out of my account. I have been emailing and calling and emailing, and no one will get back with me. I was contacted randomly (on my cell phone) by your outside sales force about the specific health insurance plans offered through your company and I was sold on the pricing (united healthcare, blue cross cost about $10/12k per year) but I have discovered on yesterday that the plans/premiums provide very little coverage, practically nothing that I need or was looking for. Somewhere in the communication there was a disconnect and I signed your forms to pay the premiums without doing the investigation that I should have to confirm what I was getting for the price. I requested that the policy (with the exception of the dental plan) be cancelled immediately (on yesterday) and was advised by your agent that a cancellation email would be arriving. I have yet to receive anything about the cancellation. I furthermore requested that the premiums be reimbursed in full (less the dental premium) for the 10 months that I believed the coverage was adequate. I am sorry but the plan that I was sold is not sufficient and is no where close to the benefits that I believed I was purchasing. Beware this is insurance scam. I enrolled back in May for the HSP3 for coverage on eye specialist visits. The "licensed" agent that signed me up promised that 3 visit a year would be cover for routine check up at $50 copays. Later I received a bill from UCI medical for amount due of $244 . I gave Agentra $189 monthly for for 3 months for no coverage at all. Total scam. Later I upgraded to an HSP9 and once again they promised they would cover my gastroenterology visit at a $50 copay. Come to find out the agent once again made false promises. I have since then cancelled this insurance as of Sept 5 and still have not received my refund since I was in the first 30 days of the HSP9 enrollment... I will now be filing a civil suit against these scammers. I paid them for months and months way over $500 and for nothing. No coverage! read more

THIS IS HORRIBLE COVERAGE.. I unfortunately used a broker Jon Kaufmann and though I was signing my son up with a subsidiary of a reputable insurance company AETNA. Unfortunately I got Agentra which has no hospital coverage in my area, (RENO- we use RENOWN, or ST.MARYS ) no emergency room coverage in my area, limited to 1 PCP and 1 Specialty visits per year. I was misled by the broker that I would have $25.00 PCP Copay, 70% emergency room coverage. On 1/25/2015 my son finally went to urgent care after being very sick for a month. Turns out his liver is failing and he spent a week in a hospital as an emergency admit..that was out of network( unbeknownst to us) we just though he could go to any medical center in our area. Very angry that when I called to get better coverage and out of this HSP3 they want to charge a higher premium and everything is add on cost. I pay $212.00 a month for this crap and am willing to pay a little more for BETTER IMPROVED COVERAGE but I'm NOT made of money. I have to wait until November to get him on a legitimate insurance at HEALTHCARE.GOV - IF he lives that long Please DO NOT get FOOLED ..THIS IS A SCAM.. I hope I can help someone .. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! On the phone on hold for everything. Terrible website with little to no information. No way to file a claim online. When I finally FOUND a way to file a claim, they sent me this really generic claim form I had to print out myself and mail in. I fill it out and they provided me THE WRONG MAILING ADDRESS!! So a month later I call again to check on the claim - they haven't received it because it was the wrong ZIP code they provided in AN EMAIL from the CLAIMS SPECIALIST (in other words it wasn't a mis-communication or I wrote it down wrong - I have it in writing that she provided me the wrong address)! How can the claims specialist give out the wrong address to file a claim?? And the same claims specialist has no power to get involved with claims - I was told she couldn't possibly have time to get involved with all claims - she would be too busy. They outsource claims to another company who is not even in the same location. THEN come to find out the policy doesn't cover anything anyway. I submitted a claim for a basic preventative skin exam from a dermatologist. They say they only cover basic preventative general physician visits up to 3 a year - no specialists, oh no. Was I told this when I bought the policy?? NO. And to make matters worse the thing they make a big deal out of is that they cover $50 co-pay to go to urgent care centers - I live in a rural area and we don't have any urgent care centers. Plus, that is terrible health care in any case. And to add insult to injury when I phone to cancel they have this guy who was trying to help put me on hold for over 30 minutes, and then they connect me to the "benefits department" to cancel. The voicemail comes on and says "This is David SVP of Customer Relations and we take customer satisfaction seriously" - leave a message. WHAT?? They have a horrible process, horrible coverage, horrible communication, horrible policies, and horrible customer service and they take customer satisfaction so seriously that you have to leave a message? WOW. You are in some kind of denial about what customer service means David. I don't know what they pay you as SVP but it's way too much I can tell you that. My version of health care is to eat right, go organic when you can, drink clean water, breath clean air, use homeopathic medicine like acupuncture and herbal medicine. This company is all tied into the dredges of traditional western "healthcare" and if you are healthy and take responsibility for your health their policy is entirely worthless. If you like to run to the doctor all the time for some chemical prescription or need urgent care (if you can call that care) in a city, then I guess it would be worth spending $220 a month on that. But seriously, how could it possibly be worth that much?? That's $2640 a year - I would much rather pay the several hundred I might spend out of pocket to get the RIGHT kind of healthcare which should include massage, health club, yoga, hiking shoes, acupuncture, good vitamins, fresh fruits and veggies locally grown, and fresh, clean water. Hi, I wanted to write the most pleasurable and positive experience that I have had with Ms. Michele Janeau Major, in assisting me with my health care solutions with Skyline Urology. She has been helping to assist me, for the last two months now, always trying to get the best resolution in my favor all the time! She did accomplish just a few weeks ago in doing just this for one of my medical bills. We are currently working on reducing this one other last bill, which she has been on top of ever since it came out. She has been nothing more than pleasant, keeping in touch with several messages, and emails, and always a real help and pleasant to speak to over the phone. We have actually become like 'family', in another state, as I reside in California. I could not have been more blessed to find an amazing, hard working and dedicated advocate working always in my favor, since my current medical bills, were not all being paid by my limited 'Wellness' Insurance plan that I had applied for last year! We would HIGHLY advise you to not use this company to get you health insurance!! My boyfriend, a healthy, active 35-yr old, purchased a "preventative plan" called MEC-HP3 through these scam artists at a whopping $230/month. As an RN, I am very familiar with various kinds of health insurance plans so I know at this cost per month, he should have excellent coverage, but I've never heard of this plan. This lousy plan only provided him with 3 Dr's office visits per year and prescription benefits. When he injured his back in a car accident, it did not cover ANY specialist visits and the various tests that he needed. When I called to find out that what this plan actually DID cover, they said that he could upgrade his plan to get more covered for even more money per month, OR he could submit his specialist visit claims to get reimbursed. When I ask what percentage would be reimbursed they were unable to give me that information. So basically they could reimburse 100% or 5% - who knows?!? Additionally, there were a VERY limited pool of Dr's who actually accept this no name insurance, which means we would have been submitting A LOT of claims. I had to call Agentra multiple times on his behalf to help him find places that would actually accept this (lack of) coverage. The customer service was awful and often gave us false or wrong information. He needed an X-ray which is a preventative service that should be covered. I had to call to see where in the world we could actually go to get one that would be covered. The customer "service" people didn't understand what we were looking for and gave us a list of rehab centers and nursing homes. I had to call back again and actually re-explain what we were looking for. I'm just grateful he didn't need to go to the ER or hospital under this insurance plan otherwise he could be buried in medical debts. Do yourself a favor - save yourself time and money by not choosing this company. We found much better help and better customer service through Continental Care Services - 888-633-5085. read more

A total scam. Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) covers 3 primary care visits per year for a 200$ a month bill. That's $2400 per year for 3 visits, or $800 per visit. And that assumes you actually go the three times. There is NO Emergency room or Urgent Care coverage. Be aware. This place is a joke and a scam. The only Rx covereage is for things like vitamin D and other OTC stuff. Couldnt even get antibiotics for a wound. read more

Agentra Health Insurance is what is called "junk Insurance". We bought a policy b/c we couldn't afford our (just out of college) older daughter's insurance on our corporate (retirement) policy. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was designed to get rid of these junk health insurance plans that were without the essential benefits that should be required in all health insurance policies. You don't often know until you need it how your insurance will fair - which of course is too late. With the gutting of the ACA new recent regulations make it legal to sell these junk insurance plans again without basic benefits as well as providing discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions. We were able to do something different with our daughter's health insurance and as soon as she was qualified, we called Agentra, wrote Agentra and Faxed Agentra to try and cancel. We were met with a rude agent who refused to cancel my daughter's policy after speaking with him. It was only after I called back and spoke to a supervisor we were able to cancel. Be aware too, that if you cancel early - they will also not prorate the insurance. So they refused to cancel her insurance until the last day of the month - as we continue to pay for this worthless policy. I would suggest a health savings account or putting funds into a savings account. The policy wasn't worth the paper it was written on. We really need to move into this century and do what other countries do to cover everyone - these junk policies are really a money-making proposition without merit. I would echo what all the others have said as well. The agent tried to justify that Agentra had over 200,000 subscribers - not sure why he thought that was proof of a good product. Medicare, Medicaid, or company insurance are really the only good types of healthcare - the Agentra policies are a symptom of what is wrong with healthcare. This is the WORST insurance company I have ever had. No one knows what is covered and is not and once someone tells you something is covered someone else tells you it is not. I just got this insurance in September because I needed insurance soon and they wouldn't stop calling me. After the thousandth call I finally decided to get this insurance. WORST DECISION I EVER MADE. I tried contacting them multiple times to get doctors. Apparently no doctor takes it in my area. I tried canceling multiple times and they kept saying they put in claims. Call back a couple days later and they claim was never put in. Or I'd call and get the run around and say they don't do refunds. Until it reached out of the 30 days and I got charged again! They finally canceled it the other day after spending nearly $400 and never even being able to use it. And still haven't seen a dime of this wasted money.
