Took my Porsche Cayman to my usual smog place and they said they couldn't do it due to how difficult it is to get to the engine bay. There are plenty of places in the Bay Area or Sacramento that will do it but I didn't want to drive 45+ min. just for a smog. I called Aggie Smog yesterday afternoon and he said I could come this morning because I had to leave the car with him. He got it done in 30 min. vs. the 1.5 hrs. original estimated time. He said due to my car being an older generation, the plastic parts were easier to remove, etc. He smogs many Porsches and exotic cars like Ferraris. I called ahead and smoke to Jason about getting a same day appointment. He explained the appointments were already booked up for the afternoon and recommended we drop in earlier in the day. I let him know the vehicle make and model that my elderly mother would be dropping in to get smog tested late morning. I've got a 23 year old car and every two years I get nervous about getting a smog check to register my car. The smog check station I used to use no longer is a Star certified station so they recommended Aggie Smog. One quick call and I had an appointment for the date and time I requested. On arriving I was greeted with a friendly (masked) face. I was told it would take about 1/2 hour. My car was in the bay before my husband arrived to pick me up. After grocery shopping he dropped me off and there was my car waiting for me. It passed with flying colors and the gentleman was very patient while I pulled out assorted Visa gift cards to pay for the test. Quick, easy, painless. I could not recommend a better place to get a smog check! I came here on a Friday afternoon around 3 PM, and there was no one in front of me. Granted, I did have to wait about 5 minutes because the guy performing the smog check had stepped out to help out someone at a nearby shop, but he completed my smog check so quickly I won't hold that against him! The entire process took 20 minutes, maybe even a little less. I paid $55 after the $15 Yelp check-in offer and a discount for being a UC Davis Student. It's a smog shop... he did it quickly and took the online coupon. Couldn't ask for more.

Called over phone and was quoted fifty something dollars for my 2012 car. His website offers a coupon that was 25 dollars off the smog check. The final price was still 52 dollars so I was confused. In the store the pricing was 68 dollars for a smog check. The math didn't add up. He explains in his reply that the certificate fee brings the price up to 77, where the 25 dollar discount is applied for a total cost of 52 dollars. The smog check by Mr. Singh was quick and efficient. Couldn't find the password for Wi-Fi and he was busy so I just sat and waited. Would have gotten 5 stars but the weird pricing knocks the stars off. EDIT: Mr. Singh says the 52 was the quote over the phone including the coupon but I NEVER mentioned a coupon over the phone, only inquired about the price. If he quotes 52 over the phone when I don't even ask about the coupon, a normal person would expect that their smog check would be 52 minus the coupon discount. Also, why doesn't he mention the 8.25 certificate fee? I'm not even mad about the pricing, 52 dollars is a great deal for a smog check. I just wish people would be more up front about pricing. It's not that hard to say $77 dollars for a smog check. I still would have come in, presented my coupon, and left satisfied paying 52 dollars. read more

Fast and easy smog check! I was in and out within 20 minutes. I would just call and ask to make sure there's no wait before you go. I'm pretty sure the guy runs a one-man show. There's a green book coupon for $25 right now if you live in Davis! With the $25 off, a smog check was $52. I think that's pretty reasonable. read more

I attempted to use Aggie Smog for a smog check on my vehicle. When I entered the office, the person who was at the counter asked for my "paperwork". I went to my car to see if I had put the renewal notice in my car, but had forgotten it. When I went inside to inform the person that I didn't have that "paperwork" they proceeded to try to rudely give me a lecture about how I shouldn't be driving without current registration, even though I was holding it in my hand. I found this person's demeanor and attitude towards me to be unprofessional and condescending and left without having my vehicle serviced. read more

They worked with me and answered all of my stupid questions. My truck computer was reset right before my smog check when it was in the shop so I had to keep driving until I could get a smog check. They let me stop by multiple times to check my truck computer with their reader and see if I could take a smog check. Once I was finally able to, it only took like 10 minutes. There's really not that much to say about a Smog station...California has one of the strictest emission laws in the whole country, and you are required by law to smog your car once every two years. My two years were up, and I dreaded the day I had to get it smogged. But it had to be done. Jason was a great guy. He's really friendly, honest, quick, and the rates are affordable! I was there at noon Saturday, as was at least one other customer, but a sign on the door said "CLOSED" even though I had first checked the website, which said open until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The coupon I carried said the same, as did the sign on the door - next to the "CLOSED" sign. It also said "Back at 8:00" I think not. Tomorrow is Sunday and they're closed then..
