In summary, I think this is absolutely an amazing place that everyone should try to go to at least once. Location: this is near bryan, texas and is taken care of by Aggies. I think that this also has something to do with their veterinary program as well. Service: the only people that you really interact with are the people that are going to take your ticket or that you buy food from. I will tell you. It's a okay experience, not overly crazy welcoming, but there's nothing I can complain about. Views: so this is why it's so amazing. Is every time I thought we were gonna have no animals come to us alot of animals came to us or some animals would I ignore other cars but totally came to us. Sometimes we had to work to draw them in other times they chased it down. There were very few cars in the park at that time.I 'm not sure if sunday is just a low day to go, but I thought it was great for us. My favorite thing was feeding the giraffes.I will tell you, it is incredibly expensive and you should just buy one cup and continue to get a refilled. They make you spend nine dollars on a super crappy cup. The refills are six bucks. I think that's kind of crazy for the price, but other than that, that is my only complaint. read more

It would be ok if they didn't keep those 2 poor giraffes in such a TINY enclosure. I mean, it's TINY for 2 large animals. There's an entire open safari they could let them roam but they don't. It's really sad what they are doing to them!! read more

Not a huge place but a place to spend a few hours. Prices seem high for what you experience but then again I understand needing to cover animal and staff costs. My major complaint is that the lady that greeted us at the front desk reprimanded us for not getting information at the entrance gate and coming inside for info on purchases. First of all no one has been out there the two times we drove through that way . So that was disappointing to get griped at. So overall I wouldn't give it but a 3 star. read more

I was a little concerned at first since the drive-thru safari was closed when we arrived, and staff couldn't give us a clear time for when it would reopen. But we decided to start with the walk-through area--and I'm so glad we did! It was incredible. We got to feed and interact with so many amazing animals up close. It felt personal and hands-on in the best way. Later, the drive-thru safari opened up, and it was the perfect way to end our visit--truly the icing on the cake. Plenty of animal interaction, a little overwhelming on the driving tour as certain animals blocked our car while others awaited the food pellets. Animals range from tiny baby fawns to huge bucks, geese, boars, goats, ostrich, cassowaries, llamas, buffalo, gazelles, and a dozen other 2 & 4 legged creatures. Came here for the first time with my family. We all had a blast because we never experience a drive through safari before. We've always seen videos, but never thought we'd get the chance. So the tickets are cheaper when bought online. The ticket is good for an unlimited amount of drive through and walkthrough zoo for that one day admission. So you have a choice to buy food from inside the gift shop and drive your own vehicle with the risk of damages from these animals ooooor take a tour bus at no cost and risk damages to their own vehicle lol. Anyways, Matt was our guide and he was pretty funny. He threw some borderline lame dad jokes, but was overall funny and informational. Lots of animals approached the bus including the huge scary ostrich. They also have a retile house and a bird sanctuary. The walkthrough isn't the largest zoo, but it was perfect for us. All the staff here are very friendly. Lots of parking. Shoes are required. read more

Just go there. So much fun. The animals are well taken care of and loved. The staff is helpful and nice. So many animals roaming around and living free in large pastures. Buy several bags of food from the store - there are 3 pastures - there are a lot of animals to feed. The walking around part is amazing. The animals look content and well fed. Thank you for taking care of these amazing animals. I truly appreciate everything you do. This is the second park owned by Aggieland I have visited and I just love them, but this one is my favorite so far - though the other was just as good! The kangaroos are so amazing. My son (17) and I really enjoyed this place. The safari and feeding the animals is the highlight but the walking zoo, when in full swing is also a nice thing to do after. If you are afraid of animals and getting real close and some potential slobber, then it might not be for you, but we loved it. Would go back for sure. read more

Update on my meeting with Lisa Brady, CEO/President of many venues such as Aggieland Safari. I had expressed concern about conditions, etc of the animals. She and I met Thursday with staff members Hailey and Mary. It was a good conversation and a learning experience for all. They have a new baby giraffe named, Mala who lives with George, a fan favorite. There are many new changes coming to the Safari and more positive changes for the animals and the public. *Hailey is raising baby roo, Rudy whose mother rejected him. He is very young and lives in a pouch that Hailey provides and has constant feedings. I feel better and they were open to changes I suggested from the view point of someone involved in the animal world and a member of our community. I really appreciate Lisa for reaching out to me to discuss my concerns after attending the safari recently with my granddaughters in June. read more

I don't recommend this place at all! Several students paid for food to feed the animals. The school was asked to leave because 1 student stole an item! They took all the feed away from the jr high kids without giving them their money back. Those students didn't do anything but still took their feed away from them and kept their money. I visited this week for my granddaughter's birthday. The weather was perfect; however, I was a bit disappointed in what the safari had to offer. There were several empty areas, and some of the signage needed updating. The drive through was fun and some of the animals came right up to your vehicle, but we saw a lot of the same animals. There were no hippos although there was a sign and the price to feed the animals was steep in my opinion. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I don't think we will return. read more

First time visit today. Lots of exotic animals. Really enjoyed the drive thru the park but wish there had been more signage identifying the different animals. George the giraffe was friendly enough to pet on his nose but he was really just looking for snacks. The otters were adorable and so excited when the keepers approached with meals. Aggieland Safari was a great experience. We drove through the park first and fed many animals. They were all very approachable and beyond adorable. It takes about 20-30 minutes to drive through and see all the wildlife. After that, we parked and walked the rest of the zoo. There were many other Animals to view. My daughter fed Georgie the Giraffe. Although very hot this summer, we were still able to enjoy the park and stay cool by going inside the Gift Shop. I've been here twice so far and loved it both times. There's the driving part which you can buy feed to give to the animals on the way. We ended up buying 2 second time around because the 1 cup went quickly with all the animals to see. And the walking part you can do before or after, but we chose to do after a good drive to stretch our legs. To get to the animals you'll end up walking through a gift shop that has alot for all. You can buy some leaves for turtle or giraffe to feed. Sticks for the birds, which is adorable when they eat it off. And kids had a great area in the middle with a park to play with others and a couple bench areas nearby to rest. If you coming more that 1 or 2 times I beleive they offer a membership that would make it better. All the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful as well. read more

Do you want to do something different and fun then go to Aggieland Safari. We took our nephew as a birthday present and a fun time was had by all. If you buy your tickets online it's a little cheaper and don't forget to order a drool towel. We bought a food bag & souvenir cup with food to feed the animals when we got there and slowly drove through the trails feeding all the precious animals. Some will come right up to the car and eat right out of your hand and some just want you to throw them the food. We had some amazing shots and look forward to doing it again, possibly in the fall. We were originally going to go to the Zoo in Waco because aggieland didn't pop up in my initial search of things to do. So glad we found it! The kids had an absolute blast. Starting off with the positive, I did enjoyed visiting and had fun with my niece with the limited time that we had. I believe this place has a lot of potential to become better than what it is. Each animal habitat was clean and well kept, however I felt like it needed more. I came here around 4pm on a summer weekday, and luckily it was not blazing hot. We got to see the giraffes, tortoise, camels, kangaroos, primates, the bird sanctuary, and the reptile area. Although we were there for about an hour, we might have missed out on seeing other animals... We did not do the driving and feeding since I am not comfortable with the ostrich. They require you to sign a waiver stating they will not cover any damages to the vehicle made by the animals. Understandable, that is why I went ahead and opt out of that! Therefore, we missed out on the zebras and ostrich which I was not super worried about. For about $25 each person, I felt like there could have been more exciting things to see. There are additional charges for feeding certain animals and I literally cannot believe I spent $10 on 6 romaine leaves to feed the giraffe. It was a little challenging to get the giraffes to come and eat from you, however after some patience, they finally came. The place could use a bit more greenery as I felt they tossed a lot of dead tree branches inside each of the habitat, which made it unpleasant to look at. Regardless, I hope to see improvements in the future, and hope to get the most of my time and money during my next visit. read more

I have been there twice. The first time was amazing. The second time blew. They made some changes between the first time and the second time and it really made for a disappointing experience. Half of the park is a safari that you drive through and the other half has animals in fenced in areas that you can walk around and look at. The first time I went you could walk up to all the animals that were fenced in and pet them to say hello. They all seem to like the interaction and it made the part so nice and unique. The second time sucked! They put up some stupid fencing outside of the fencing so that you can't get close to any of the animals. If I wanted to go to a zoo I would go to a zoo! The whole reason I came here was to get up close and personal with the animals. These animals that they have now behind double fencing are the Hooved Type animals that are not dangerous to people. I see no reason why they suddenly needed to be behind double fencing. Like I said it was a huge disappointment really sucks that they did this and there are other options to go to so I will be going elsewhere. Additionally when we came the second time they decided to change the hours. I had checked the website several times to ensure that they would be open that day. There was no warning that they were going to close the park early. By the time you drive all the way out there the last thing you want to do is have to turn around empty-handed. It really sucks too because I have to pay all that money for us to come in and to be cut short was disappointing. We were up there for a birthday and nobody cared. They were more concerned about closing the park in advance and doing their own thing. Franklin Safari is pretty close to this park and there you can pet all the animals. If you are closer to Houston there is another really cool place called the interactive Houston aquarium. This is not the aquarium that's downtown but a different one where you can pet almost everything! It's amazing. If you're closer in the direction of the south side of Houston towards Galveston there's another place called Bayou Wildlife zoo. That place you can pet everything to. The whole point for me going somewhere is to put the animals. If they're going to make it like a zoo it takes all the fun away and makes the long drive definitely not worth it. Really sucks they made so many changes for the worst. read more

Ran across Aggieland Safari, on the internet, while searching for things to do in the Bryan / College Station area. I am glad I did. My fiancé and I visited on Sunday June 7th and were extremely pleased with our visit. The online ticket purchasing went easy and smooth. At the entrance we were greeted by two young ladies who were very informative and helpful. In the drive through-area we found the animals to be docile and non-aggressive. For the safari only being open one year there was a good assortment of animals. The large covered pavilion was a welcome area to take a break, get something to eat and have a cold drink. The walk-through zoo area was impressive. With an excellent array of animals, a bird aviary, an animal barn and a playground for the kids. If you don't want your car to get dinged up by the animals, request a bus tour! It is included in the ticket price! You get a tour guide on your bus and they have a wealth of information on each individual animal. We learned so much! Every person that worked there was so nice and you could tell they enjoyed their job. We took our 4 year old here for her birthday and it was such a perfect day. When you walk through the gift shop out to the zoo, the giraffes are there to greet you. One of them walks right up to the fence expecting food! They have someone who will give you food for the giraffes. Probably not good to feed them outside food. This place is perfect for a birthday party no matter the age! They don't have a restaurant but you can absolutely bring your own food and drinks. Highly recommend!! read more
