In the middle of buying a new home, my wife and I ran into issues with a previous years tax filing. I tried contacting the IRS myself to resolve it. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic most IRS field offices are closed temporarily. With the prospect of falling out of escrow, my friend suggested I call Jyoti at AGI. I was pretty much in full panic mode. She calmly and clearly advised me of my options and offered a few suggestions. Within an hour I had uploaded all of my files, forms and misgivings from that year and she was working on it. Just a few hours later, she was done. Realizing that time is of the essence, she offered to e-file everything which I was told by another accountant and the IRS website, wasn't even an option for a previous year tax filings. By the end of the day, she had advised me, prepared and electronically filed that previous years return. After everything was said and done, several things occurred to me.
