The first thing I noticed was how responsive and friendly Michael was. It was clear that he cared about his clients and wanted to provide top-notch service. I explained what I needed and within an hour, I was able to log into his client site and upload the document he requested, a TurboTax file. He reviewed the document and got right back to me. He pointed out things I had missed and explained how I could file a 1040-X with the IRS. I was prepared to pay his normal fee for providing this service, which was fair, but he made an allowance for me because of the simplicity of my issues and charged me far less. It is rare for a business to do this. It's nice, and rare, to deal with someone so understanding, competent, and fair. I don't give gratuitous compliments. Michael Garelick is not a CPA accountant as he puts himself out to be. We retained him for payroll, booking and, planned to have him perform our tax returns. Multiple errors were made during payroll regarding contributions, responsiveness was horrible and, you do not speak with Mr. Garelick, you speak with staff. Worst, we requested our books, was advised everything was sent when in fact they were not. We do not have an account of pay information for our staff. By far the worst experience imaginable. I wish I had a review like this to know to not trust or use their services. They are internally extremely disorganized. After hiring Michael to amend and file taxes for me, which he not only didn't do, but apparently according to him "let it slip through the cracks" and apologized. His partner, Jessica said, and I quote, "do not speak to Michael, only speak to me because he does not know what is going on." This was after her telling me on the phone that her and I had had a conversation, even though I had never spoken to her before in my life.
