This was my first restaurant experience in Mexico City and it did not disappoint. It's not a huge restaurant but it's clean, bright, and modern. Service and food were on point. We were served blue corn tostadas with a few different sauces - all of which were tasty, especially the spicy creamy green one. We then ordered appetizers to share. All were tasty but hands down my favorite item was the pulpito. The octopus was so tender and went perfect with the little potatoes. I also really liked the rib eye tacos which came with the best red spicy sauce and the tiradito which is a campachi Crudo. From the cebiche tasting platter (no photo), I liked the atun the most. Of course we ordered desserts as well. I actually cannot remember the names but will comment on them with the attached photos. One I' didn't get a photo of was a chocolate dessert. It was very good but rich. If you're in the neighborhood I suggest trying this spot out. read more

My friends and I came here for our last night in Mexico City. The food was good. The restaurant beautiful. However, we did have issues with the service. Half of the table orders were taken but not the other half. We had to keep calling the wait staff back. We received our food at different times. Someone received burnt rice as well. The manager did come over and apologize in addition to offering us a comp dessert. I did not enjoy the tres leches, it was way too sweet but the other desserts were good. read more

Wow! Agua y Sal is 100% worth it. This restaurant truly blew my mind. I was craving ceviche and found this spot nearby. Even though everything pointed to it being a bit on the pricier side, I decided to treat myself, and I'm so glad I did! We shared the ceviche, pulpito, and lomo saltado every single dish was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was also great, and the overall experience was fantastic. This place is pretty fancy, and a good spot in the middle of everything to go to. The ceviche sampler was a good choice, because we got to taste so many different, high quality fish. The BEST fish was the Mexican style ceviche, which had a ton of interesting flavors and even a little bit of tomato in it. Sounds weird, but it was all of our top choice favorite dish out of the 4 of us. I would recommend coming here once to try the Mexican style ceviche, but I think other restaurants could have more dishes to offer! read more

We came here at the recommendation of a work colleague; we were looking for something a bit different after a few meals of typical Mexican fare. We had their calamari starter, which was so amazing and HUGE - so fresh and perfectly crispy. I then had their fried fish sandwich and it was the right balance of white fish to breading, not fishy at all (which is a plus in my book). Service was fast and attentive. Seafood with South American twist. As a family, we all love ceviche and were super excited to try this place out. The decor is lovely, bright and welcoming and the staff is a delight. The ceviche was fantastic, but the mussels were hands down our favorite dish of the night, our 6-year-old almost refused to share them. The veracruz fish was just okay, we've definitely had better but then the oysters were out of this world. I'd say most things were great, and with such a lovely setting, it's worth a repeat visit and would recommend to anyone looking for seafood in the city. read more

All I can say is wow! We love ceviches and tried almost everything. The place is right across from the Hyatt, a little further than where the main area was but worth the walk. We started with cocktails. I got the pisco sour and it was made well. We ordered a bunch of items to share. The aguachilles, mixto ceviche, grilled octopus, ceviche tasting flight (came with tropical, tuna, Peruvian and green) then ended it with plancha Del Mar. We absolutely love everything except some items in the ceviche tasting flight... the tropical and tuna ones were plain and bleh. The tuna one needed soy sauce, and the tropical was bland, too sweet. The aguachilles was very good! Made well, very tart. The mixto ceviche came with shrimp and octopus, right amount of lime and chili sauce. Extremely good, the best ceviche in my opinion! We were craving some seafood and specifically ceviche and figured this spot in Polanco would be ideal. We ordered the ceviche tasting (Degustación Cebiches; choice of 4), the octopus salad, and the Esquites de Camarón. The Ceviches were truly great, we enjoyed them. The salad and the shrimp were also great. The music was very nice, created a great ambiance. I was a bit let down by the service. They stuck us next to the kitchen despite the restaurant being almost empty when we walked in. The sound of the mixer was incredibly loud and unpleasant. I was in town in Mexico City visiting a friend of mine. When it came time for dinner, she recommended we come here. So we made the short drive from my hotel to this fine establishment. The place was rather busy, and we didn't have reservations. Even still, they took good care of us. We were sat in the outdoor dining area, and we sipped on coffee while we waited for our food. I ordered a shrimp plate and a side of white rice. My plate was elaborate. The shrimp came on a bed of veggies, and it was prepped to perfection. The rice was a good complement to my meal. To drink, I ordered my usual when I come to Mexico: lemonade with club soda, and a cappuccino. The service was great, they checked on us consistently to make sure we were taken care of. Check out was seamless. Parking is found along the street, and we were able to find a spot a stone's throw from the place. Despite it being a weekend evening, I didn't see parking as a problem. If you find yourself in Polanco CDMX, I recommend this restaurant if you fancy seafood. read more

I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong brings but Yelp did us wrong and I'm pissed I wasted our last meal and ventured all the way to this hood for such a lackluster meal, and by far the worst Peruvian food I've ever had - salty, dry. overcooked, overpriced. The marlin tostada, salty and almost inedible. The mussels were frozen, dry, sauce meh. Miso Trout extremely dry and salty over seasoned mess, mashed potatoes were sweet for some reason? And they refused to sub for rice, oh the service was awful. Lomo Saltado beef tough and overcooked, sauce was ok,, rice was day old and dry, hard. Not sure why this place has high reviews because we ordered the ceviche sampler, the ceviche tatemado, and the callo de hacha and it was not good. the fish and some of the ceviches weren't fresh and literally every single ceviche dish was lacking flavor. It was either way too much lime or too sweet or nothing at all. I wouldn't come here again and i don't recommend this place at all. What we got: - sangria: this was mixed with lemonade and was more syrupy... not what I expected. Ended up getting a spicy marg instead. - mixed ceviche (Catch of the day, shrimp and octopus (5 oz) in a Manzano pepper sauce, red onion and cilantro served with corn kernels, cancha (Peruvian corn nuts) and sweet potato with a pinch of Himalayan pink salt.): The pepper sauce was poured tableside and called "leche de tigre" (tiger's milk) - definitely was my favorite dish of our meal! Fresh seafood, crunchy corn kernels, what more could ya ask for! - kanpachi crudo (4 oz) from Baja California in a confit Cuaresmeño pepper, calamari, celery, onion and garlic sauce: fresh pieces of amberjack in a slightly spicy sauce - delicate and wonderful. - 1/2 dozen Pacific oysters: VERY salty, and they're relatively large oysters - we didn't like them and couldn't finish them, even with all the lemon juice we could squeeze onto them. - grilled octopus (5 oz) served over garlic potatoes, parsley and roasted red bell peppers topped with a fresh arugula salad: This came out in an unexpected form - almost like an ahi tuna tower but octopus...
