From start to finish, everything we ordered at Entremar was absolutely delicious. I genuinely cannot find a single negative thing to say about the food. Every dish was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere with a two-story seating area. Just something to note for accessibility: the upstairs dining area is only accessible by stairs, as there is no elevator. There is also outdoor seating available when the weather permits, which I imagine would be a great option on a nice day in Mexico City. Service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and made the entire experience feel welcoming and seamless. One thing that stood out was how easily he alternated between English and Spanish to accommodate our table. He was patient with our questions and made sure we understood the menu and specials, which we really appreciated. We decided to order family-style so everyone at the table could try a variety of dishes. This ended up being the perfect choice. We shared savory shrimp and chicken tacos, ahi tuna tostadas, fresh ceviche, and a fish entrée that was seasoned differently down the middle. The fish had red and green seasonings, which we jokingly called the "Christmas fish" for obvious reasons. Not only was it visually fun, but the flavors were incredible. Overall, Entremar delivered on every level -- great food, attentive service, and a vibrant dining atmosphere. If you're visiting Mexico City and looking for a place that offers a variety of standout seafood dishes, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list.
Sister restaurant to Contremar. We couldn't get a reservation there so opted in for this restaurant. Tucked away on the side of the street but inside was very livery and super cozy. We got seated upstairs and workers were super friendly. They have inside and outside seating along with upstairs. I could still remember the taste of the tuna tostada in my mouth. I love uni but I think the regular tuna tostada had better flavor than the one with uni. Our next favorite dish was al pastor tacos and then our next favorite dish was grilled fish with two colors. Something about their tortillas it was super chewy and the salsa that comes out was super flavorful and had a good kick to it. Definitely a spot you should check out.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had and definitely my best meal on the trip. Everything we ordered was incredible, the only thing I could skip in the future was dessert. The service was good and the prices were as expected for a fancy seafood place. I hope to come back here again someday.
Of all the meals we had in CDMX, we were most looking forward to this one at Entremar. I made this reservation because Contramar was booked but thankfully, its sister restaurant Entremar is much easier to make reservations. We had a lovely 4-top on the upstairs balcony abutting the railing. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the sounds of the street activity below us, the views of the park across the street, and the feeling of being among the trees with the nearby tree canopy. It was just a picturesque spot and I highly recommend the upstairs tables if you can request one. We ordered a lemonade and accidentally ordered a whole pitcher of the agua fresca of the day, which was tamarind. We were pleased with our mistake, the tamarind agua fresca was delicious - sweet and tart. We ordered the Tuna Tostada and it was the dish we liked the most of the whole meal. The crispy tostadas are topped with a chipotle mayo, marinated tuna, crispy leeks, and avocado. The crispy leeks are the star of the show and take a cold dish to something with texture and extra savoriness. An order comes with 4, but my daughter wanted more in the middle of the meal and the restaurant was flexible enough to let us order a half order of just 2, which was so appreciated. We ordered a clam pasta, with toothsome angel hair pasta, ample little neck clams, and a surprisingly spicy olive oil and garlic based sauce. We also spied a really saucy, tasty shrimp photo on Yelp and showed it to our waiter who said it was off menu but let us order the Camaron de Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) anyway. This was amazing - huge plump shrimp, garlicky, head juices, perfect with eating with the accompanying rice. The signature dish at Entremar is the Pescado a la talla, and we ordered a smaller size for our party of 3, with both rubs. The Tradicional is a red adobo rub, and the De La Barrita is a parsley rub. It is a show stopper of a dish, beautifully butterflied and presented with the vibrant colors. You eat it taco style, since it comes with fresh, house made corn tortillas, mashed black beans with cheese, and a pickled onions and a green salsa verde. The fish is incredibly fresh and tender though the rubs taste surprisingly subtle compared to how visually stunning they are. Even the smaller sized fish was a really large portion. We left this meal overdosed on excellent Mexican seafood and it was a highlight of the trip.
Mid day after a walk over from Chapultepec Park, we decided to take advantage of the many open tables curbside and enjoy another round of their Tuna Tostadas & a Pacifico. I also had some of the less memorable fish tacos. So nice 7 tranquil sitting out under the trees. A few nights before we dined at sister restaurant Contremar and it was a bit hectic, this was much nicer. If you aren't able to snag a reservation, just walk in at an off time.
Food Rating: 6/10 Price: 2/10 Ambiance/Service: 10/10 Overall Rating: 6/10 Tostadas de atún (tuna) - 95 pesos Rating (10/10) So light and fresh, the best tostada I have had! Tostada de callo (scallops) - 225 pesos Rating (2/10) The scallop itself had a weird aftertaste that was super fishy. Although the sauce did hide some of the aftertaste. I did not enjoy this tostada. Pescado a la talla - 695 pesos Rating (4/10) It looked great for the picture but the flavor was lacking. I also expected the skin to be crispier Tacos salteados of shrimp - 365 pesos Rating (6/10) It was good but nothing special... the shrimp was a bit tough maybe overcooked Camarones Al Ajillo - 850 pesos Rating (2/10) The shrimp was very flavorful but since the rice wasn't seasoned I would have preferred more sauce on the shrimp to compensate. The shrimps were also super tough and over cooked. In my opinion the dish was not worth the price. Tacos de Esmedregal Al Pastor - 465 pesos Rating (6/10) Nothing special about these tacos.

The highlight of the dining experience was easily the Tuna Tostadas. They come in a set of four and are a total flavor bomb, especially with the kick from the spicy onions and peppers. We also tried the Ceviche, which wins points for presentation (it arrives in a gorgeous clam shell), though the flavor was just 'okay' on its own. Pro-tip: eat it with the tortilla chips and that green sauce--it completely transforms the dish. Then came the finale: the Pasta with Clams. Now, full disclosure, I am the world's biggest hater of angel hair pasta. When I realized the dish featured those thin strands, I had a silent mental breakdown. While the flavors were actually quite good, the texture of the angel hair felt like a personal vendetta against me. If this had been served with a sturdy fettuccine, it would have been a 5-star dish. A solid meal, just beware the pasta shape if you have strong opinions like I do! Service was great!
Food: Flavor burst, beautifully presented and delightful. The fish with the spicy garlic sauce was oiler than I think was necessary, so it subtracted not added to the dish. I also had the scallop tostado, it was so yummy. Service: exceptional Ambience: Delicate with romantic feel. I was dining solo, but would say the atmosphere was more romantic. Overall I loved the experience in deemed the overall rating because of the oiliness of the dish.
Service was nice but the food was overrated and expensive for what it was. Overall taste was good but not impressive. The favorite was the aguachile. The Yaocalli cocktail was very smooth. The camarones al ajillo were tasty but half shrimp heads with not a lot of filling. Portions were satisfying. Server was very nice and attentive. A lot of foreigners go there.
We loved everything we ate at Entremar! The vibes were wonderful too. We ordered the tuna tostada, the crab tacos, and the fish. I honestly cannot stop thinking about the tuna or the onion/habanero pepper sauce that we put on EVERYTHING. The fish with cilantro was decent but I felt like it was even better when we wrapped it up in a lil tortilla - and I'd honestly say the tacos and the tuna was better than the fish. I also ordered a hibiscus marg which went perfectly with the food.

The ambience and food were amazing. Excellent service! We ordered the fish quesadilla and full size fish. The fish was grilled and seasoned with parsley on top and the other full size fish had a delicious adobe sauce on top. I recommend this restaurant if you want a 5 star delicious meal. read more
Everything we ordered was amazingggg. The ingredients tasted fresh. The best thing we ordered was the sopes con esmedregal al pastor! We also ordered the smaller contrarmar size for 2 people because we wanted to try a bunch of other things from the menu! I can't imagine if we bought the bigger size.. it's still a lot of fish! Highly recommend that! Service was super attentive and helpful. read more
Contramar is believed by many to be a "must have" restaurant in Mexico City. I'm so glad that their sister restaurant, Entremar, has an identical menu, easier to attain reservations, and it was located near to me in Polanco. Being from California, I was surprised to hear that they opened their newest location at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas last month. We ordered the tuna tostada that people rave about. It was ok. We could have used some more assertive flavor from acid or spice. I couldn't eat a whole fish (their signature dish), so we went with shrimp in their adobo rub in a taco and fish al pastor. These were also just ok, but the price tags are high for their entrees. I've seen pictures of others fish al pastor with onions and cilantro and that certainly would have added something I felt was missing. The one thing we ordered and loved was their seasonal mackerel ceviche which was in an apple/citrus/olive oil sauce. It was unique and delicious. I think their ceviche and aguachile are probably their strengths, but the cost is pretty high to leave feeling underwhelmed. Honestly, we will be going back to mi compa chava for better seafood read more

Amazing! So fresh and delicious! Amazing portions and excellent service! The restaurant is very open and so can get a little noisy with all the tables but still amazing ambiance. Even if your Spanish is not great, the servers will be able to help you find the best dish for you! Definitely would try again next time we are in the city! read more

Entremar is incredible. It is the sister restaurant to Contramar, and it absolutely lives up to the reputation. The seafood is unbelievably fresh, and the ceviche was one of the best I have had. Everything tasted bright, clean, and perfectly balanced. If you love seafood, this place is a must when in Mexico City. Highly recommend. read more
I bookmarked Entremar and Contramar prior to my CDMX trip and luckily I researched ahead of time and saw that it was much easier and more low key to make reservation at Entremar rather than its other super famous sister restaurant Contramar (it was pretty booked out far in advance). So we made reservation with the host in person (you can online via Opentable) one day when we happened to be in the neighborhood and the host was able to put us down for the following day reservation for 4. I think if you're in the area, checking in person with the host for reservation will be better because online via Opentable, it showed no availability for the same time and date for us. Entremar was pretty hyped up and it lived up to all the hype! The seafood here was so so fresh and delicious. They actually serve fresh raw snail (snails aguas chiles) and it was soooo good!! I have never had snails aguas chiles and I probably will only have it here. You hav to try! Everything else was so delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, no need for further praises. If you love seafood and love to have a wonderful time with your friends and family and don't want to go through the hassle of crazy reservation, check out Entremar! Everyone was so friendly and the wine was so good too. The restaurant was a bit small but they also have upstair area. Loved it! read more
Fresh, delicious seafood. We didn't make reservations in advance so figured this would be easier to walk into than contramar (same menu/quality apparently). We were seated right away and ordered the classics: -tostada de atun: I don't even like raw tuna and this was delicious and the best tuna I've ever had -grilled fish with two sauces: delicious, simple, light -fig tart: loved it. Not too sweet and uses fig so well -they has a clam ceviche special which was a little too acidic for me but still good -shrimp aguachile had a nice kick, liked it Great restaurant! Entremar is a sister restaurant to Contramar, which is usually booked up. But both have a similar menu, or so I've been told. Seafood tasted fresh. Octopus was probably my favorite dish, well-cooked and tender. Most other dishes we ordered were appetizers, to keep things on the lighter side. The strawberry meringue cake was a hit! Very unique, never had a meringue cake like that before. Overall, great experience! Would love to try the original Contramar location next time. ;) read more
Phenomenal seafood restaurant. Sister restaurant to Contramar, the food quality was top notch as was the 2nd floor balcony seating with a view of the adjacent park. The vibe was energetic and classy, all the fish options both raw (tuna tostada and the octopus aguachile were both incredible!) and cooked were extremely tasty, well cooked and fresh. Would strongly recommend and I hope to come back in the future! read more
Nice space with an upstairs window that opens to a view of the park. Had the fish, Tuna uni tosada, linguine clams and squid ink rice. Tuna uni tosada was excellent. Fish was a bit overrated. Linguine was not al dente. Squid ink rice was a bit bland. Service felt a bit rushed but they try their best. I dislike when food comes before utensils and they seem to make this mistake often. Please always always put utensils BEFORE dropping the plate so I'm not watching it get cold. read more

The hype is real! Entremar is an upscale but still super affordable seafood restaurant in CDMX. The service was amazing! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Now for the food. I originally ordered tuna croquettes, but they said they were out, which was a disappointment. Instead I ordered the pescadillas, which were a little dry on their own, but the guac they came with was DELICIOUS! It was perfectly salted and smooth. It was probably the best guacamole I've ever had. The pescado a la talla was also bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed every bite! I will definitely return next time I'm in CDMX. read more

Lived up to expectations! Couldn't get a res at Contramar, but luckily it was easier here (still need to plan ahead) and they have almost the same menu. Get a table by the window. Fast and friendly service. Started with the tuna tostadas, which were so fresh and tasty. Then the famed Christmas-colored fish. A 500g order of fish was large and definitely enough for 2. The rubs were so flavorful, and the fish made for great tacos. Comes with salad, refried black beans (LOVE), and tortillas, and you get free refills. The strawberry meringue cake was a creamy dream to finish. I will say they have the worst-tasting ice, almost like it had tequila in it. Also, I got horrible food poisoning after eating here, but I'm not sure it was from this meal specifically so I'm not gonna fault them for that. read more
This place has incredible reviews, so I'm just throwing my (unnecessary) two cents in... The food, vibe, and service were incredible. Shout out to our waiter, Gabriel, who was funny and indulged us as we practiced our Spanish. We ordered the tostadas atún, aguachile, and pescado a la talla. This was plenty for two people. The aguachile was good, but I would say the tostadas and pescado sealed the deal. The vibe was upbeat, with a beautiful view of Polanco if you're sitting upstairs. The service was attentive while not being overbearing. Please keep in mind that service at restaurants is not the same as in the states, in my opinion service is better in CDMX. Meals are meant to be enjoyed and not rushed through, which is exactly what you get at Entremar. Of course, we ended up here after not being able to get a resy at Contramar, but after experiencing it would rebook in a heartbeat. Dinner for two, with drinks, ended up being $150'ish (in US dollars), for those that are curious and have a hard time converting pesos into dollars, like myself. read more
A good seafood restaurant in the heart of Polanco in CDMX. We had a reservation for lunch on a Sunday and I am glad we did, because it was packed. We were promptly seated on the upstairs balcony overlooking the park next door. Decor was nice with large abstract paintings of ocean creatures. Service was outstanding, friendly and fast. Staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was very good, but not outstanding. Maybe because we had already spent over a week in Mexico and eating our way from Oaxaca to CDMX, my expectations were too high. We started with the ceviche, which was good. I had fish tacos, which were excellent. Others had shrimp and said that it was okay. I would recommend but don't expect too much, just decent food with excellent ambiance and service. read more
Most known for their intimate ambiance and high-quality seafood, Entremar should also be known for their service! I love how easy it was to RSVP online and get seated. Their team walked us through their specialities and menu favorites. We obviously got the tuna tostadas, various rounds of tacos, their signature fish, and some desserts. I was looking forward to their fig cake but they ran out, luckily, they brought out their other selections and I got their flan and lemon cake. Their fish selection is top tier, sauced and seasoned to perfection, and I'd love to go back!! read more
Elegant dining at a more affordable price than the sister restaurant. Beautiful restaurant with very friendly and efficient staff. The food was excellent. The MUST TRY item is the fish with two sauces; it is sold by weight. If you come with a big group, order one for the table to share. The tuna tartare tostadas were perfectly seasoned. KenScale: 8.0/10 Visits: February 2025 One restaurant in Mexico City that I wanted to check out but seemed impossible to book was Contramar, a venerated seafood institution in the city. I logged onto OpenTable to find open seatings for Contramar numerous times but just couldn't find anything during our stay in the city. I asked the staff at the hotel we were staying at for help, and they suggested we try Entremar, the sister restaurant of Contramar (with supposedly the exact same menu) in the swanky Polanco neighborhood (which is also where Quintonil and Pujol that we had visited earlier). Our stomachs were still somewhat full from our dinner at Pujol last night so our lunch after visiting the Anthropology Museum (by the way, this museum was spectacular) was fairly light. That doesn't mean we had a bad meal at Entremar, and I can't stop thinking about one dish from the restaurant. When we were going through the vast menu with our server and asked for a recommendation, he immediately turned to the tuna and sea urchin tostadas. We've had tostadas at multiple Mexican restaurants before, but the one from Entremar was really something else. The combination of texture between the fresh tuna and sea urchin was a marvel! I was hoping to try a few other dishes after the first order of the tostadas but after the initial bite, I couldn't resist ordering another one right away. Even Jun, who is typically not a huge fan of sea urchin, admitted that it was a difference maker for the tostadas. Our server also recommended the "al pastor" king fish tacos with onions, cilantro and pineapple inside, and we also tried the octopus aguachile with red onion and chile of cuaresmeño (think jalapeño pepper). Both dishes were solid overall as well, with the tacos showing a unique smoky flavor of grilled fish, and the octopus with tender texture that would be a nice snack for a lazy afternoon. As mentioned above, getting a reservation at Entremar is probably easier than Contramar, and while we haven't been to the latter, I wouldn't think you would be missing out much from visiting the former with all the delicious seafood dishes. The bright dining space with nautical theme makes the restaurant a very suitable place to enjoy weekend lunch. On our visit, it was filled with mostly local crowds ranging from large family gatherings with a bunch of children to old couples looking to have a good time. You can complement your meal at the restaurant with beverages from a rather large list and really can't go wrong among beer, wines, cocktails and spirits (I felt compelled to try a glass of mezcal to enjoy with the food). I really wish we could've tried more fulsome dishes at Entremar like whole grilled fish; if you are looking to have a relaxing lunch with delicious seafood (and can't grab seats at Contramar), Entremar is not a bad way to spend your weekend. read more
Made it a point to stop in at Entremar despite it not being on the itinerary while visiting CDMX for 5 days. Since it was a newly invented meal between brunch and lunch, we kept it simple with our ordering. Between the two of us, we ordered one white fish taco and of course, one tuna tostada. The tostada came with four pieces and the tacos with three. Gosh it's hard to rate which was better since both were SO GOOD. Topped both items with their green sauce and lime which enhanced the preexisting seafood flavors. Overall, the food was delicious and sitting upstairs on their outdoor/indoor patio was pleasant. Can't comment too much on the service since we were in and out pretty quickly. One thing I know for sure - I will be back! read more

The menu here is identical to contramar which is a great thing, because contramar can be almost impossible to get a reservation at. I tried putting an alert on OpenTable almost a month before to book contramar the second time but had no success. I however, may be in the minority in saying this place is good but not exceptional like contramar. The space has much lower ceilings and doesn't create the same vibe with its large murals. The service also felt a little less polished. We had to ask for birthday candles three times and tortillas were forgotten with the pulpo. That being said, the food was great the tostada and ceviche were great but the experience wasn't as memorable as contramar. read more
Best meal I had in CDMX. Made a reservation same day, it wasn't difficult. People are sleeping on Entremar! But good because I like being able to get a reservation. We had a reservation for 3 and for 4 and they were able to combine us into 1 table of 7. Thank you Entremar! My favorite dishes were the octopus tostada (life-changing), octopus taco, and clam pasta. The dessert were also especially good, particularly the flan and guava cheesecake. Sadly they didn't have the fig tart available for me to try. I'll have to come back (and I already have plans to). The big fish was really good too, I'm glad we got a small size though cuz we had too much food. The tuna carnitas were a bit dry but I'm glad I got to try it because it was unique. The ceviche was too spicy for me. I can't wait to come back next month to get the octopus tostada again and try some more tacos. Sadly water does cost money here. read more

Despite our best efforts, we couldn't snag a reservation at Contramar while visiting CDMX. Luckily, we found out that its sister restaurant, Entremar shares the same menu. They had reservations available. We arrived and the restaurant was busy. We got seated within a few minutes of checking in. The restaurant has a fairly large dining space including a dining area upstairs and outside. The servers are all dressed nicely with white dress shirts and jackets or vests. Despite being a packed restaurant, our food arrived very fast. Our servers were very attentive. The menu has a nice variety of seafood options. We ordered the tuna tostadas, al pastor tacos, and the whole grilled fish that was half red chili adobo and half parsley rub. The tostadas were simple, tasty with fresh sliced tuna. The al pastor tacos had generous portions of meat and had a spicy kick. The grilled fish was really good and came with some fresh tortillas and mashed blacked beans.
