We started with raw oysters, a crab tostada, fired calamari, and grilled oysters. The grilled oysters were amazing. We did the parsley and butter and almost ordered another round of the tabasco. We are normally not entree people but these were perfect. The grilled fish with avocado and herb salad is fresh, light, and so much flavor. I will try to recreate this at home. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Nothing fancy just perfect octopus. And lastly the grilled vegetables . The herb smooth sauce they are served on top of and all the variety of vegetables, they are what all grilled vegetables are supposed to be. We all had a special dinner out to celebrate the departure of our clpse co-worker. This restaurant was reccomended by someone and their reccomendation was right on point. The were so many menu options it was hard to choose something appropriate. We started out with an appetizer called Choripan, which basically is a type of chorizo from Argentina that is spread on top of baguette bread. I almost consodered live oysters, but I wanted to play it safe, and partially cooked oysters can sometimes cause stomach problems. My main course was the Lonja de Pescado Zarandeada which is marinated fish filet mixed with avacado sauce. It was excellent. My good friend ordered the basic shrimp cocktail, and the large size seemed overwhelming. She siad it was delicious as well. This is a wonderful classy type of restaurant. read more

Have you even had seafood? I was very surprised by how amazing the flavors of all the dishes I tried. Usually, there's a standout but here everything is just delicious. The command of the use of ingredients is next level. The cocktails are well-balanced and interesting in a good way. The service was great from start to finish- friendly, attentive, and efficient. Overall really great experience, and the vibe was just right. Unfortunately, I took very poor menu photos, so I can't name the food and drink I had except for the pulpo but know that I would come back in a heartbeat for all the yummy food. A smaller restaurant with chill city vibes. The drinks were good and we ordered a lot of food lol. The oysters Rockefeller were so good! I got the tuna tostada which was the best thing I ate on the whole trip. I should have gotten three of them! I also got the oyster taco thinking it would be a friend oyster but it wasn't and the texture just threw me off. My friend loved her seafood roll, but I forget what was in it, crab and shrimp maybe? Probably the worst seafood restaurant I've ever visited. The waiter was incredibly rude--he barely made eye contact with us and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. The food was completely overpriced and not even good. For instance, I ordered "queso panela," and it had no flavor. They simply put a tomato on top, which looked ridiculous. We all decided to order shrimp salads because the other dishes were nothing like what you'd expect at a Mexican seafood restaurant. If you want to try authentic Mexican seafood, look for a restaurant that specializes in cuisine from Nayarit or Sinaloa. I would never go back to La Docena--it's just not worth it. read more

Such a wonderful experience! Everything was perfect! The food was amazing! We went with another couple and basically shared several dishes so we can try everything. Highly recommend the fresh oysters, oyster Rockefeller, Tostada Calla, and the Camerones cocktail. The dulce de leche volcano cake with banana ice cream was an excellent ending to a perfect meal. My partner wanted to take me to a specific restaurant in Roma Norte, but they were unfortunately closed that evening. La Docena was right around the corner, and it ended up being a great choice to go there instead! We were seated on the outdoor patio. The weather that evening was perfect. Service was relatively quick because our table was right next to the register. We started with a dozen oysters, which tasted fresh. Watching my partner try to order horseradish was hilarious--I think we ended up with some sort of hot sauce . We had two orders of the sweet potato fries because of how addicting they were. The oysters were excellent. The service was some of the worst I have had. I speak very little Spanish but truly believe once my server spoke to me she decided it was easier to avoid me. This spot feels right, above everything else I see, storage and handling of the raw foods is nothing but correct. That makes me want to eat a ton of oysters. The ambiance and the service is great. Just be aware that if you sit on the street you might get heckled a little bit and solicited a lot. Everything I ate was amazing. Open air Park let style eating is still something I have a love hate relationship with. I'd still take it over a stuffy loud indoor setting anyway. read more

Beautiful place to dine in! The staff here is super wonderful and extra helpful at explaining the entire menu. The limit is 3 to a table and it is very well cleaned and organized. If you're into steak and seafood this is definitely the place to go because that's what most of their menu consists of. The drinks here are really well mixed and they even make exceptions depending on what you want for a cocktail. I LOVED the fresh coconut water (a must). This place is happening. Very trendy and the seafood is very fresh and yummy. The only reason is give this a 3 star is because how the hostess runs things. Two of us decided to come here last minute. I thought I'd make a reservation (there was only 8pm available) just in case while in the Uber. We got to the restaurant at 7:ish. When I went up to the hostess and asked if they were able to sit us they said sure just a few minutes. I then told them I had a reservation at 8 that they can ignore and we'd like to sit asap. I waited...and every party of 3, 5, 2, that came after me with NO reservation got seated before us! I asked why? And they said because I had an 8 reservation I had to wait?!? But I said to ignore it if it'll get us in sooner. Long story short, I was seated 45 min after getting there and thought that that system of doing it, was wrong and such a weird way of thinking. read more

This was a pre-3-hour taco and mezcal tour to meet a friend that was also in town. It was conveniently located and has outdoor seating as well. There was plenty of staff yet not overly attentive. They have quite a bit of wine offerings and only four cocktails. We went with the Julia Naranja, French Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. They hit the spot after a long walk. Stopped by in La Docena for a quick meal on our last night in Mexico City. This is a beautifully designed corner oyster bar in a hip and lively Roma Nord neighborhood of Mexico City. Decor is incredibly well designed and the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a cool little bar attached to the oyster station. We ordered Peruvian style ceviche, octopus with potato chips and oysters. Oysters were incredible, and I am very very selective we're I eat my oysters. Ceviche was similarly very good - fresh, perfectly prepared and well spiced. Octopus on the other hand was underwhelming. It was on a dry side and slightly chewy and overcooked. Potato chips very light, almost paper thin, placed under the octopus. I had an amazing glass of crisp French rose that went perfectly with oysters and ceviche. Tips: This is a fantastic oyster bar. I would stick to oysters. Roma is a great little locals neighborhood full of bars, restaurants and local spots. Walking around here is fun! read more

The reviews are great but the food and service are not up to par. We arrived around 7pm and were told that there was a 40 min wait. From where we waited we saw about 8 empty tables that remained empty while we waited. I totally get waiting for reservations but no one showed up? We were seated at about 30 min and ordered the octopus and calamari. We decided not to order drinks because we had just come from Lucha libre (if you're in MX city it's a great experience). The waitress seemed peeved. The mineral water was 75 pesos and we had asked for boring old bottled water so that was definitely a rip off. The calamari was fresh but the oil they used was old. Too bad. The baby octopus was presented beautifully but it wasn't cooked correctly. It was a little too tough and not what I would expect from a higher ranked restaurant.
