They were professional, friendly and answered all of my questions. A week later (Friday, July 17, 2026) I noticed the side gate was not easy to open and close, so I called Classic Fence. The work crew that came were awesome and the poor guys had a hell of a time. Full disclosure, our yard is large but old, with old pipes and a pool as old as the house but no blue prints of where those pipes are. During construction they inadvertently hit the pipes that I had no idea were located, and which they warned me ahead of time could happen. They worked through it all, came up with options and solutions, and were polite and energetic in the execution of it. I cannot say enough about those guys and I really appreciated their work. Some things just cannot be helped, but it's how a company and it's crew react - and they were all awesome. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again at some point in time. When I have time I'll post pictures of the new fence (gotta find some from before the fence too).

James from Bates Fencing was hired by my neighbor who was intalling a new pool, I gave my neighbor…read moreperission to access my fence so that a small escavator could get into his backyard by removing some of the fence pannels in between both houses. In return the fence was replaced new at no cost to me and I was told my gate would also be replaced. Before the fence work started, I reached out to James in regards to upgrading my gate, James said, he would have to return the monies my neighbor that he paid for my gate because it wouldn't be fair for me to upgrade and I only pay the difference (not sure if that was legal). James wanted to charge me the entire price of a new fence if I was to upgrade. On the back side of my gate James used old wood as well as all of the old metal hardware not replacing it with anything new. After seeing my gate, I called James to ask why there were such gaps in my gate, Jame sent me pictures of my old gate showing me it was the same. Now James is saying that I tried to commit fraud because I questioned him, Seriously. I tried to open my gate only for the old boards used to secure the back side just falling to the ground down. The old boards are not secure and the bolts that are supposed to hold them in place are old and wobbly. I called James to let him know of this issue and he said my neighbor only paid for the pickets to be replaced. I was never given the option to upgrade to a whole new fence or told that the old wood and hardware (bolts) would be used. There was never any communication from James letting me know what was paid for nor was I given any information regarding my gate. I'm aware that my neighbor is the one who contracted Bates Fencing and James but I should have been addressed when It came to my property and gate. I should have been given the oppertunity to pay the difference to completely upgrade my fence enough so it wouldn't be falling apart. My gate has only been up since April 2025 and the backside wood is literaly falling CG - June 5, 2025
