So recently my FiL was here for about a week before dying. Here is what I will say about the place. It needs a major update and overhaul. Something the staff cannot control. I found the building extremely out dated and dirty in a lot of places. The shared bathroom that my FiL was in smelled of urine badly despite them cleaning it regularly. The staff however was extremely attentive and kind. They went out of their way in his final days to constantly move him every two hours and give him his pain medication 1-2 hours without fail. Now I dont know if that was because we were on vigil the whole time until he passed or if that is the way they are with everyone, but that is my experience. It takes a special person to be a CNA, or Nurse in a nursing home and these ladies were amazing. I will also say, we did buy them lunch a few times b/c they were so good to our FiL. They since we were there around the clock they also brought us coffee, juice and snacks every morning. Thanks Forest Cove Staff! Management and Owners- SINK MONEY INTO UPDATING THE PLACE! read more

I would only recommend this place for your worst enemy. My brother was put here from the hospital for rehab and on from the first night forward, it was a disaster. Night 1: They can't get the bed to raise or move and finally they brought something from another room to help. The TV wouldn't work, and no one knew how to fix it (lose wires coming from the wall). I told them the next day, he needed his cpap, so, they advised me to bring it up there and I did. The next day, I noticed he still wasn't using it and I asked why? "we have to have a doctor's order", I said ok... when would the doctor be by "not sure". I then asked if the doctor didn't have a phone? and they just looked at me. Another day I went in and the physical therapist was in there working with him on his arm strength. After watching for a few minutes, I noticed he had slid down in the bed and I asked "where can his legs be?" she looked and said, "yeah, he needs shifting up" and she goes to find a nurse because this didn't just happen in a few hours. That same night, I get a call at 7:00 in the morning from a nurse to tell me that sometime during the night he "slid out of bed"? didn't say how long he might have been there, or the fact that none of the beds I saw had ANY side rails at all! Each day I visited, the call button was never anywhere it could be reached by him and it really made me wonder if the nurses ever checked on the patients at all?? That same day, he was put back into the hospital and spent nearly another week due to a urinary tract infection and staph infection. When he was released this time, we had him put in another facility which was just as old, but was a breath of fresh air when it came to the staff and nurses being caring and observant. He passed away a couple of weeks later, but at least he was in a place where the staff actually cared. read more
