She was thorough in her approach and spent a lot of time getting to know me and my history - as did the assistant responsible for the initial intake. It feels good to say I have a primary care provider after all these years. We will see what the blood work reveals and then discuss a plan of action, with Northern Medical's onsite physical therapy, acupuncture and hyperbaric therapy as potential options. But despite this attention, his ministrations didn't really seem to have a great deal of effect. Still very uncomfortable and sore, I decided to see if acupuncture would do the trick. And although Andrea DID use a needle in one of my fingers to get the offending muscle to relax, in fact she proceeded to give me the most terrific (and not even terribly lengthy) forearm massage. The result was quite extraordinary. Rather suddenly, all my months of extreme disability quite faded away within a day or so. It was then that I learned that not only is Andrea a fully-trained acupuncturist, she also went off to India at one point to learn a particular massage technique. Despite the fact that she seems to keep this skill in a drawer, Andrea's a fine, fine masseuse.
